If true Utd want £3m for Sam Johnstone, just pay it, the lad was quality today and has been every time I've seen him, 3 or 4 quality saves and a world class save to stop Bobby, would likely have been a clean sheet if not for the deflection. Could be our keeper for 8 years or potentially sold on for more, really £3m could well be a worthwhile investment in him.

Johnstone is a confident guy and has a high opinion of himself, don't think he would move anywhere if at least Championship football isn't guaranteed. He was hoping to become United's number 2 this summer.

Then just offer to pay Utd to recall him from you and loan him to us

Having said that, can't blame O'Donnell for Garner's goal, good header at point blank, would have to see Cunningham's again, his kicking was generally alright, one or two a bit wide of the mark, decent distribution out of hand. Being vocal was evident and he'd only been confirmed an hour or two before the game.

Agree with this, in this day and age if you can have a young goalkeeper for 3m of his quality I'd pay it. He's a very good keeper for this league and at a good age too. He could potentially be your goalkeeper for 10 years, and if you did sell him I think you would make a profit on your 3 mill that you would pay for him.

As Aaron said it was an own goal, nothing he could do. 2nd goal he got sucked in at the front post due to the quality of delivery by Gally and couldn't get near the header. Lad on the front post should really be clearing it.

He seemed to have an iffy start, but he just got better and better as the game went on.

Now it looks like we won't get Clough as cotts said no transfer is imminent.

So Bristol miss out on clough now too.

Without taking the piss the powers that be have seriously fucked up your season. All transfer targets have been unrealistic and when you've got someone in, they'll all fucked off after their loan spells.

I've had this impression from you all season that you think you're something you're not after walking a shite league one last year and it seems that you're board and manager think the same.

You can slag our transfer policy all you want (did all summer) but most of our side would walk into your team.

Can just see you getting desperate now to save your season, well that's started already with signing O'Donnell.

O'Donnell is a good League One keeper from what i've seen, good shot stopper, nothing more than capable back up at this level though imo.

£3m is a ridiculous price to ask for Johnstone. If I was him I'd be pissed off at Utd with the way they've messed him around

It's a joke, spent £300m on transfers like its nothing and won't except 1m less for a goalkeeper they will never play.

Surely they would just put add ons in and a buy back or first refusal clause?

Confirmed Hunt.

Great for you to tie him down permanently. I was desperate for us to get him as soon as last season ended, would've been a perfect wing back for us.

Obviously looks unrealistic now given where we are and considering you came in for him. But given he had gone on loan to Rotherham last season I thought it was a realistic signing if we got in early.

Most people on our forum dismissed it though when I suggested it on a couple of occasions. Then he tore us apart first game. :ffs:

He's tremendous going forward but a bit suspect defensively but what I like is we are now bringing in players, checking their suitability then snapping them up if they fit.

After Claudio Beauvue for £5m going up against Aston Villa

Just go after Bradshaw for the £1.5m - £2m whatever Walsall want an use the extra £3m elsewhere.

That second paragraph is right, as our transfer targets our just too unrealistic and stupid, when we go foreign we try and fucking sign Claudio Beauvue, that's never going to happen, and for some reason we aint going down to the lower leagues. I haven't seen anyone saying that we are gonna easily stay up, in fact most of the fans on here have been really worrying about the side all season long, nobody's said we are going to go straight into the top half with the team we have. And of course O'Donnell was a desperate signing, it's an emergency loan completed only a couple of hours before the match. Do you think we are going to try and properly scout someone with about a day until the match starts? There aint enough time for that. But O'Donnell seemed comfortable vs Preston so we seem good.

Bristol City have offered £2.5m for Johnstone but the player doesn't want to go according to a North Ender who usually knows his shit.

Hope we managed to extend his loan until the end of the season but I can;t see us breaking our transfer record for him even though Hemmings has pushed the boat out a bit this season.

Why the fuck would he want to leave PNE for us currently? Stupid bid.
