Phil Brown on TalkShite said this this morning: "And one or two we're possibly losing in transfers. Dan Bentley, possibly going to Brentford. Jack Payne, possibly going to Huddersfield"

As far as I'm aware, deals for Egan and Sawyers are done, just not announced yet. Not heard much on Bentley before today but given we've bid for him in the past, and I'm sure there will be a lot of interest in Button, this wouldn't surprise me at all.

Supposedly we're in for Matty Taylor as well. Would be 4 good signings I'd think if all true, all on frees as well (though Egan and Bentley would need compensation agreed)

Good news if we're signing Bentley, maybe means that Button is off somewhere then.

Never heard of Matty Taylor though, who is he?

Would be sad to see Button go - but if we can get £3-4m for him then it would represent very good business. Bentley could easily become our goalkeeper for the next 10-12 years.

I haven't ever seen Taylor play. He scored a lot last season but no idea if he'd fit the system well. Guess he's worth a gamble on a free, even if he doesn't do that well this season he'd still be worth a reasonable amount if sold next year. And we've had a very good record of late of developing L2 / Conference goalscorers into those who can do a good job in the Championship, so I could see us being quite attractive to him.

We've signed Joel Coleman from Oldham, young keeper who was their number 1 last year. No idea what he's like..

I'm happy with Makienok. Looked like the only player who gave a shit when we smashed them at the Valley last season and imagine he'll be a good partner for Beckford. Lot of Charlton fans saying he's awful but hardly fair to judge him playing in their wank team last season.

He scored 5 times last season and 2 of them were at our ground in a 4 - 1 win, so I'm sorry to see he is back in the Championship.

TBH he was a bit of a knob, going up to his own fans making gestures when he scored the first and then giving it the big I am in front of the North Stand after his second.

He should fit right in with Garner.

It is starting to get annoying to be fair. I know we have a large Bristol City contingent on here, and most, if not all of them are decent guys on here, but the constant Bristol City related talk on every thread I read is starting to bore me. Sure, I know I don't have to read it, but it's having to scroll through all the shit posts to get to the revevant posts (transfer news)

Huddersfield signed 2 players today for what it's worth, and it's at the bottom of the pile of posts covered up by crap relating to Kodija and Gabon.. whatever that's about.

Maybe a mod could clear some of the posts up.

Gets my vote. Bar JJH and Ciderup
Thanks Walkley.
Now that the stadium rebuild is all but finished, we have taken our inane wittering over to that thread to save annoyance. If anything of interest to other fans arises, we'll put it on here.
I hope that suffices and apologies for taking over a bit too much.

Paurevic a 6"5 Croatian adding height to our midfield. Excited over these unknown signings, hopefully Wägner knows his shit.

Just be sure to give them time to settle in this division before expecting too much. Due to injuries last season we were forced to start a number of our European imports far earlier than we'd have liked, and they were largely quite far off the pace. Took a while for them to collectively adjust.

We could just have a separate thread for confirmed transfers, so they don't buried under the avalanche of rumours.

Could be a good idea to have the official ins and outs for each team, if anyone could be bothered to maintain such a list. If not I'm sure there is already a completed list somewhere that just needs a copy/paste job.

Also we've been linked with James Wilson, Adam Armstrong and Patrick Bamford this morning, but teams with more money will be able to offer them better deals than we can.

Ipswich couldn't wait for City to release Agard next year then

I hope so as we've given them a promising youngster permanently as part of the deal!

Most we've spent in about 5 years on one, and probably more than the total amount of players bought in them 5 years!

Delighted with him, we tried in January. Not only that, but seeing us spend £750k under Mick McCarthy gives me a little hope we going to slightly change our approach and a few million will be available. Nothing retarded like the likes of Derby,Fulham,Forest etc spend, all of whom have proved it doesn't work. But hopefully we'll find the balance.

Saw that Brentford are trying to get Bentley and Taylor as well - seems they've scrapped the European approach but are still looking for lower league gems.

FWIW, I don't think Sawyers or Taylor (call me biased) will be up to much in the Championship, but I'd gladly take Bentley and Egan. Will Bentley get in ahead of Button though?

Hope you guys are scared of us this summer. This man is genuinely dealing with our recruitment at the moment:

"As the story goes, Andrea was a polite and helpful furniture salesman who just so happened to show off his customer service skills to Cellino’s wife. This then allegedly led to the man based in Miami to pack his bags and head for West Yorkshire, where he suddenly began to turn up to training sessions and even executive board meetings.

He was said to have been given the nickname “The Spy” because of his sudden appearance at training sessions alongside Nicola Salerno and would even voice his opinion to Neil Redfearn, which will have been taken badly and understandably."

We are offering Button a new deal at the moment so if Bentley signs you would assume that Button is off, neither of those keepers are interested in being a second choice.

Don't think we've scrapped signing players from Europe as there is much better value to be had there if you get it right, just coincidence that all the players linked so far are from lower leagues.
