We have signed a player!

Goalkeeper Andy Lonergan from Fulham on a 2 year contract, exciting times ahead...

Decent signing, should keep Ikeme on his toes. Now for 2 creative midfielders and 2 strikers....

Aye not bad for a number 2. If we can keep hold of Iorfa and Hause, and Mike Williamson coming back I think our back line is decent for this league. Need to work on the midfield and striker positions now.

Could be a good idea to have the official ins and outs for each team, if anyone could be bothered to maintain such a list. If not I'm sure there is already a completed list somewhere that just needs a copy/paste job.

Also we've been linked with James Wilson, Adam Armstrong and Patrick Bamford this morning, but teams with more money will be able to offer them better deals than we can.
Newcastle won't let Armstrong go, he'll be playing for them next year.

Saw that Brentford are trying to get Bentley and Taylor as well - seems they've scrapped the European approach but are still looking for lower league gems.

FWIW, I don't think Sawyers or Taylor (call me biased) will be up to much in the Championship, but I'd gladly take Bentley and Egan. Will Bentley get in ahead of Button though?
Ideal scenario is Bentley learns off Button for a year then we make some cash on Button. I'm not nieve enough to think that will actually happen though.

Don't think any of them will necessarily be key starters, but all could do a job building out the squad.

Those 4, plus a DM and a Winger and I'd be absolutely delighted. Could let a few go as well.

I'm not so sure, I think Rafa will want to spend a ton of money on new strikers this summer, not sure if he's the type of manager to risk playing a striker who scored a lot in L1, for a season where promotion to the premier league at the first attempt is a priority.

Signing to be announced tomorrow apparently. Not Tomlin, not Dack, not Matthews. Probably O'Neil.

Sorry PNE fans but Makienok is absolute toss.

Tom, what makes you think he was the only player that gave a shit? He is one lazy bastard.

As I said earlier in the thread, being in a better side may bring out a better player in him but I can't see it, he was just shit.

Gary O'Neil. Enlighten me, Munkiki.
No. I refuse to even entertain the idea.

edit - just had a look on twitter. Here's me hoping we've offered him another year and that he'll take it. There's Bristol City fans acting like he's not good enough for them. :dis:

So sounds like it will be a good addition if it does happen?

Can't say I know a great deal about him other than he's getting on a bit and wages will be quite a lot for us.

Birmingham enquiring about the possibility of getting Ryan Shotton on a permanent deal according to their local rag, would be a good deal for all parties. Surplus to requirements here.

The game at the Valley. He came on and looked bright. At the end of the game he looked devastated and sat in the middle of the pitch for about 5 minutes before applauding the home fans and then going to sign a load of autographs after the rest of the players had gone.

Fair, don't really recall, just remember us being diabolical.

He is crap though.

Lonergan is atrocious.

And Gary O'Neil wouldn't improve any of the top ten.

In exciting news for us, we've offered 3 players deals, one to guarantee us a tribunal fee and now we start spending. Expect it to be European based mind as it is cheaper with two English based players as key, Wells being one.

I think it's more the fact that Marlon Pack's dad said we'd sign O'Neil but not get Tomlin.

Good job we're not in the top 10 then, decent addition though?

I saw something on Twitter the other day saying you were in for Pudil permanently, would you be happy with that?

Lonergan is atrocious.

I read somewhere he's played 350+ games at this level. For a sub goalkeeper, providing he's on a low wage I don't think it's a bad deal. To be honest I was expecting us to sign some dross from L1/L2.

He'll be kept as 4th choice behind Ayoze, Mitrovic, and either Rivière or a new guy. No point loaning him out when cash is short, they have bigger fish to fry.

Daniel Bentley turned Burnley down because he wasn't willing to sit on the bench. If he goes to Brentford, that's basically confirmation that Button will be leaving.

That keeper Huddersfield have signed is decent, made a class save against us with about 5 mins left to save a 0-0 draw after having absolutely nothing to do for the whole game before that. Sign of a good keeper are the ones who can make that sort of save when required.

We've been linked with some fairly uninspiring souls so far.

Kodija and Matty James have been the best two mentioned, but I don't think either really warrants an uninterrupted first team spot. Thorne, as long as he stays fit, and Hughes will always been in the side. It's then a toss up between Bryson, Butterfield BJohnson and Hendrick who gets the remaining spot in the side. It, unfortunately, makes any other central midfield signing redundant.

As for this Kodjia, he's had a good year. It means to buy him we're going to have to pay through the nose. Again, though, what happens when he signs and we're still pissing around trying to get him into the system. The bench can only hold so many strikers when we may well predominantly play with one.

I want to see a big investment in the under 21s. I really couldn't give a toss if we didn't buy another first team player. I'd rather work on what we have at our disposal. I do think back-up players for Thorne and Martin are important, as well as replacing those who leave, i.e. Shotton, Pearce...etc, but we've got a fairly decent size squad as it is.

Are Derby really going to throw money around again? It's an insult to nearly every club in this division that you get away with it every year. It's made even worse in the sense you seem to bottle promotion in dramatic fashion, considering how many millions you waste in the process.

Amazes me when you say players like Butterfield, Bradley Johnson and Hendrick are all fighting for one position... at a Championship club. Most of us would give anything to have either one of those players at our clubs.

I hope they do, personally it gives me great pleasure seeing them bottle it year on year after spending the most cash in the division.

Christ, it's hard work this thread.

Can we stick to the actual rumours and keep away from Alan Nixon, Bradley Dack, Lee Tomlin and fucking Gabon please.

Where was this mate? Just been catching up on this thread, haven't been able to get on here for a few days.
Can't remember now, and can't find it when looking again.

I'm pretty sure I saw it, that or these tablets are a bit strong :err:

Think it's a case fans expect either Tomlin or O'Neill to come due to wages and most people want Tomlin to return after last season, from what people say in here it sounds like we've finally replaced Wade Elliott's experience and then some.

Twitter is full of morons anyway so hardly pay attention to people on there.
