The Beckford to Leeds rumours are annoying me, I think we're going to be priced out of this one. Especially after Hemmings mentioned his age when talking about contract offers.

Yep. That interview with Hemmings makes it sound like he's going elsewhere. I'll be fucking gutted.

Our very own Wes Foderingham is likely to be available on a free transfer, Reading fans. Still expect him to end up at Birmingham or Forest, mind.

Up there with one of the worst goalkeepers I've seen. Got caught under every single cross on sunday

Not bothered if we don't sign Beckford tbh. 31, high wages and he's never done it in the championship.

Did well on loan to Huddersfield.

Playing under Grayson in a system that suits him, i've no doubt that he would score goals. He needs a partner to win the flick ons which Garner does on a regular basis, my mate who is a Bolton fan said he spent a lot of his time as a lone striker under Freedman.

Can't see us being able to sign anyone better.

This Vincent Bessat fella we have been linked with has apparently turned down a new contract offer at Nantes. Looking more likely we'll sign him.

Fair enough, I'd be happy if he did sign but I don't want us to put all our eggs in one basket as we did last summer with May.

Hopefully lessons have been learnt.

Swindon pair Luongo and Gladwin off to QPR it seems.

£4m for the pair - where have QPR got that sort of money from, given the financial shit they're in?

If that goes ahead that just sums up how spineless the football league really are. They shouldn't be able to spend a penny, and sell what assets they have until they repay their current debt.

Looks a done deal as well - what a joke.

I'd be disappointed if we lose Chris Kirkland, but he's far too good to be sat on our bench for another season.

Not sure Craig Davies is up to this standard, probably be a decent League One player. The fact Bolton preferred two strikers who are about 95 over him says a lot.

Adam Federici now officially signed for Bournemouth.

So that's both our senior keepers, both our reserve keepers and our goalkeeping coach all left the club in the last week. Hopefully the club are busy on the phones to get the right GK in quick.

We are apparently interested in Craig Davies after his release from Bolton. Worth picking up as a 'freebie' or not?

He has ability and is good with is back to goal as he is strong as fuck, but he's completely half-assed and his hamstrings are made of jelly. Wouldn't have him back here, didn't look anything special in League One.

Foderingham?

Makes sense really - Reading is very close to Swindon, and he's an exceptional keeper.

Just a suggestion :P

Wouldn't mind Foderingham, should be decent enough. Very good age too which means we could keep him for a while.

Also wouldn't mind Ben Hamer, now third choice at Leicester, can help to continue my dream to see a full Reading 11 of academy developed players.

Yeah Ben Hamer would be ok and he has improved a lot since that shocking performance he had for us against Northampton in the league cup back in 2009 although knowing our past transfer dealings i wouldn't be surprised if Dave Beasant will be our new keeper.

Not a lot happening over here but the following came out of an interview with Karl Robinson...

1) Looking for 4-6 players including a number two goalkeeper, midfielders, wingers (of which he wants to take our total up to 6) & strikers
2) Spoke to 4 loan players, 3 of which from big Premier League clubs
3) Scouting in Copenhagen, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Ireland, Scotland, France & Belgium
4) We have put a bid in (£600,000 apparently) but been priced out of Will Grigg unless Brentford drop their valuation (reportedly £1 million)
5) Lots to sort out off the pitch before sorting out stuff on it & we have to wait for later in the window for the 'sale' to properly start recruiting
6) We will be in the bottom 3 in terms of budget

Exciting stuff.

I doubt we would have turned down £600k, I think we are just looking to recoup what we paid, which is about £500-600k.

Is that with or without Chadwick and Smith?

But seriously, wouldn't believe a single thing budget-related that comes out of Robbo's mouth. You've been working on a shoestring budget for years according to him and still managing to buy and sign really good players. Magician.

Go down a level, then another. You won't be gracing the championship for a long time.

I know. I'm fairly sure I was talking about MK Dons though.

Sorry, were you trying to make a point? Are we only allowed to have a bit of #banter with teams in our own division, is this the footballing equivalent of a caste system?

Certainly in League One terms compared to the likes of Chesterfield, Walsall and Yeovil, we were big spenders (wages as opposed to transfer fees). Robinson making us out to be on a level playing field with the aforementioned was ridiculous and Winkelman's statements over the years contradicted this notion anyway (he said we had a top 6 budget pretty much every year). Robbo seemed to conveniently gloss over the majority of the league and look up at the likes of Sheffield United, Bristol City and Wolves, thus feeling hard done by.

Having said all that, in this league, I would guess he is not far off in his assumption about our placing in the budget table. It will only get worse for you as I am sure he will bring it up on numerous occasions when we are bottom with 3 points after 15 games.

We've released Garrido, Cuellar, Bunn and Becchio. Bound to be some interest from this level in them.

Agree with Robinson for once about your budget, but he could have the Chelsea job and would try and say he had the smallest budget

A few years ago I'd of jumped at the chance of signing Becchio - but as he's aged, and our policies have changed, I can't see it.

If he could recapture the form he shown at Leeds, and we seen signs of him doing that, I'd certainly take a gamble on him.

Not a great time for the Chief Scout to have a fatal heart attack. RIP Andy King. Mersey legend (and not liked in Swindon which was just a bonus)

We've been linked to Ian Black from Rangers in the papers....

I know the name but that's it, Andy Little has hardly been a roaring success after joining from Ibrox so it's not exactly an exciting rumour...

Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post also tweeted:

Understand that Leeds won't be bidding to sign Jermaine Beckford, despite Cellino's initial interest:
