Strong rumours around the club saying were going for Youssouf Mulumbu from the inbreds... would be a quality addition to our midfield if true.

Halfords been in for talks with us in the past couple of days.

Halford for Morgan.
Ledesma for Pringle.

Brilliant from Evans if it comes off.

It's weird how players just fit with certain clubs at certain times really. It's probably too far gone to expect Becchio to get back to where he was with us very quickly and I'm not sure how Beckford would do here now, older, without Grayson. But the pair of them didn't score the amount of goals they did for us without being very good. The move to Norwich/injuries has just gone on too long I think for Becchio - definitely needs a fresh start somewhere.

Halford is shite, he throws the ball further than he can kick it.

Preston fans never tired of telling us Morgan was "shite", two promotions and avoiding relegation suggests otherwise.
Why should Halford be any different, IF we sign him?

Morgan has only ever been involved in relegation battles at this level, admittedly though, he did well for you in League One.

Or maybe he was shite for wolves? Like every other half decent player that went to Wolves at that time and suddenly turned shite.

Every player, you mean Jamie O'Hara and Roger Johnson?

With Greg Halford you'll get a player who says to the manager he can play in pretty much every single outfield position without really excelling in any of them. His best attribute admittedly is throwing the ball, which to be fair he is better than Rory Delap at. If you play like Stoke did in their first Prem season he could do a job for you. On his actually footballing ability though, I wouldn't have him in a league 1 team.

What's the strory with his release? From what I've seen of him with you, admittedly not a lot, he's always looked a threat.

Wanting too much money? Or simply not good enough to step up?
Make him feel wanted and you are getting one hell of a player, frustrating at times (not so much recently) but rediculously talented. There will be times when Jay disappears from games but he can explode into life and do things beyond mere mortals. He can appear languid but he's that athletic that it isn't a fair criticism. Get his head right and he could genuinely play in the Premier league, he has that much ability but he will frustrate some of your supporters who will label him as lazy, that's a guarantee.
I would guess that he would be on a decent wage, not high by your standards but high for us plus he's back in London which will be a pull for him.
From our point of view, I would assume Cotts thinks he can spend the wages on something more to his liking but the general consensus is that we will miss the big fella. He's been very good for City.

We've been linked to Ian Black from Rangers in the papers....

One to chalk off already, Dave Seddon at the LEP has said its bollocks.

Won't end well IMO.

Maybe his past piss poor performances and effort is just too ingrained for me to change, though. Who knows. If I had to stick my neck out though I'd still say he found his level with Bristol in L1, he won't be anywhere near as effective this season regardless of who he signs for.

I know what you mean but I think he finally grew up at City and it showed in his performances. Let's be honest, if he had failed at our place, he would have been destined to drop down the leagues. We were his 'last chance'.
I think you will see a different JET when you play the R's next season.

Abel Tarrant and JET in the same side - what could possibly go wrong?

He was absolutely brilliant in his two years with us - but you get the impression that he didn't fit into Cotterill's hardworking style of play enough to get himself a new contract.

The boy has ability, and I'm talking incredible ability - quote Arsene Wenger where he said 'If Jay gets himself fit he'll be a good player, no, a great player.'

JET may often be labelled as lazy and go missing in parts of game, but that's the gamble you take with him on the chance of that moment of brilliance that he so often created with us.

I personally think QPR would be a good move for JET, back on the London scene etc. He's still yet to prove himself in the Championship, and was hardly a revelation there for Ipswich - but he certainly deserves another chance, and he's definitely matured in his two years here as a player.

Another issue you might get if you sign Jay. He's not a midfielder yet he's not an out and out front man either so doesn't fit into any particular formation IMHO. The modern phrase seems to be a 'no 10' or 'in the hole' type player. A deep lying striker would be my description but he's not a front man nor is he a midfielder.
Play him with a lone front man and give him licence to roam and he's particularly dangerous, try and pigeon hole him into a fixed role (front man, winger etc) and it just won't work.
Good luck to the bloke TBH, he's been a breath of fresh air in Bristol both on and off the pitch.

Our local papers and Journo's are reporting Will Grigg as a target that has came up recently, and seems to have some truth in it.

Reports suggest they want £1m after turning down MK Dons bid of 600k, not sure I'd risk paying that on an un-proven Championship striker, but we'll wait and see.

We were heavily linked with him last Summer as well.

Paul McShane from Hull would be a great signing for our defence considering how awful it is.

I Can't stand QPR as a football club and the FL's stance on FFP has just been shown up.
FFP? It's now been proven to be bullshit. It was a good idea but the FL have been shown to be totally incapable of implementing it so it's spend what the hell you want to now.

QPR have signed Gladwin as well, building a good League 1 team that will fall just short next year.

On a serious note, maybe they've changed their transfer policy. From signing over the hill Premier League players, to signing top League 1 players. Though I still think Gladwin is average, others don't,

Still, Chris Ramsey is a doughnut, and I fully expect him to be getting relieved of his managerial duties come October. As a 'highly respected' coach, probably get offered a role within the club that he'll turn down, before going Villa with Sherwood.

Two good signings for QPR - and I doubt they'll be a scratch on the state of that wage bill at QPR.
