Villa have bid £5m for that Reading youth fella who Norwich were after a few weeks ago.

Aaron Tshibola is set to become Roberto Di Matteo's second signing of the summer this week after Reading accepted Aston Villa's offer.

The Royals have given Villa the go ahead to talk to the midfielder after a bid of £5 million met their asking price.

Tshibola is well known to assistant boss Steve Clarke, who gave him his debut during their days together at the Madejski Stadium and the 21-year-old also attracted interest from Crystal Palace, Celtic and Norwich City.

New Reading boss Jaap Stam was reluctant to lose Thisbola, but sources in Berkshire suggest the player forced the issue.

The Royals hierarchy have now sanctioned the deal and the player will undertake a medical and discuss personal terms in the next few days.
