Seems strange that we would pay big money for a sub centre back. I can only think Mawson would be a replacement for Flint.

That is exactly what I was thinking TBH. If the Newcastle link is genuine, we would have to cover that but £750K is a daft bid which makes me think it's bull.

Nothing imminent seems to be happening with us, which is a bit concerning. Still need about 3 players good enough to start really. Had to play centre-mids at the back already this pre-season and the CBs we do have, do have question marks over them anyway. Need another CB for sure, as well as a CM to replace Cook as best we can, and another striker. We do have Wood, Antonsson and Roofe who can play there (and Doukara but y'know) but could do with a big man really as another option.

Don't put yourselves down TM, you're in this league on merit so we're interested, I certainly am.
Not sure about MacFazdean as a Championship defender TBH mate, looks slow whenever I've seen him. Would your other central defender be a bit quicker?
We are indeed in this division on merit, we may not have a big budget but we have a manager and chairman who will use what we have wisely. I am not really sure which combination of central defenders we will play or even if we will play with 3 and 2 wing backs so can't answer the question yet. We have maintained the bulk of the squad which has gained successive promotions and are now adding to it. Chris O'Grady may not be every ones cup of tea but I suspect how we play will play to his strengths. I am pleased with our other business so far, most have good championship experience(which we were severely lacking) plus it looks like Choudhury's return on loan looks imminent. Johnstone Irvine looks a great signing too.
Of course it will be a difficult season for us, we are every one's favourites to finish bottom.
I expect a few other signings yet.

O'Grady was fine for us. Burton are in a similar situation whereby they have a low budget and limited options so hopefully he'll do well for them too.
We saw very little evidence of how he managed to bag 15 goals for you the season before we signed him but he must've scored them somehow.

More than capable of holding the ball up, I'll give him that. If he can help Burton upset a few of the better sides in the division it'll (hopefully) prove a useful loan move for us as well.

Rotherham continue the annual trend of signing Sheff Wed rejects, reserve goalkeeper Lewis Price crossing the divide as the latest recruit.

Apparently signing Jake Kean tomorrow from Norwich City, expect he's coming in to be back up to Westwood which allows us to loan out the very highly rated Joe Wildsmith. A full season out on loan in League One will be fantastic for him. Kean should be morre than good enough as a number 2.

We're still interested in bringing Adam Reach back on loan, doubtful anything will happen until Boro submit their 25-man squad though on the 1st of September. Wolves, Wednesday and Reading supposedly interested but I think we would be in pole position if he's available.

We've also enquired about bringing back Marnick Vermijl but Wednesday's valuation is above what we're willing to pay at the moment.

Would be happy with both but at the same time not too bothered if nothing materialises.

The only problem with that SF is that the window will be shut before the Prem name their 25 man squads. It would make more sense if the window closed after the Prem squads are named TBH.

The loan market is still open for another month isn't it? Or has that been changed as well?

Either way, I presume players will know if they're part of the squad before it is actually submitted giving them the chance to move.

I don't think it's open at all after the end of the transfer window. I stand to be corrected though. None of us can do anything once the window shuts.
'FIFA, however, have closed the loophole and from the start of 2016-17 all 92 clubs will be forced to abide by the fixed transfer window which exists in the Premier League'.

Vermijl has been involved in our pre season games and not looked bad, would be more tempted to move Palmer on ahead of Vermijl.

Antony Limbombe the winger we want. Linked in January. I really wish we'd sign a domestic winger rather than continuously gamble on foreigners who rarely do the job. Jury well and truly out on Botaka...who knows what Sacko will do and now potentially another in the same mould.

Also a bit concerning that Limbombe has walked out on NEC and failed to report back as he tries to force a move through. Not exactly the type of character you want.

Apparently it's being decided today if we're gonna let Whitehead go to Rotherham for a minimal fee.

Is that not just supposed to represent a fan re-signing?

over 13,000 sold supposedly and only 2-3000 remaining makes it seem like a late push rather than being worried as such. Anyway don't really know how JJ didn't get that the blacked out shirt holder was a fan.

JCH out for a long period, so we're now down to Danny Ward who's the most injury prone player in Rotherham's history and 19 year old Jerry Yates.

If we don't go back in for Lee Gregory now then someone needs to end the club.

Unbelievable that they'd have known about JCH yet still didn't want to spend an extra 50/100k on Bradshaw.

Dean Whitehead has apparently now decided he wants to think about joining us and who can fucking blame him.

Supposedly bid a six figure fee for some Flakirk midfielder Vaulk, again now really an area we need to spend money on so could have spent it towards Bradshaw.

We're a joke.
