Peanuts in the Prem and/or with parachute payments, maybe.

Aye that's true to be fair. If we fail to go up this year that could be the best part of our budget the next.

It's also down to players sold and our lack of spending on anything prior to the last 12 months.

And now we're hijacking Newcastle's deal for Diame. I'm liking this new ruthless approach to signings.

Looks like the three Championship heavyweights - Newcastle, Villa and Norwich - are ALL flexing their financial muscle just days before season starts.

 it was a rumour from the Birmingham Mail... Either it was bollocks, or we just came in too late!

As I said, we're looking to get a midfielder or two in by the sounds of things. Doubt we'll manage it by the weekend mind you.

Barry Fry confirms Bristol City offered a straight swap deal Wes Burns for Jon Taylor but was turned down.

Unlucky lads, first Vaulks and now Taylor.

They'll not be anyone after that cos no other club would take Bobby Zamora hahaha
I'm despondent, I don't know how I'll recover....

Did Jon Taylor really cost a million? Peterborough don't half get some quality deals for their players.

Edit - just seen it was £500k, that's not too bad, think he will do ok for Rotherham.

Happy with this signing and be even more if we can get the Allan and Nyman deals over the line, big step up from signing 30 year old as beens we've been signing ever since we've been in this division, finally were making decent signings with potential!

Odd day. First the Pritchard move being hijacked by Norwich (still no confirmation either way on that though), and whilst all that was going on, it appears we were busy wrapping up the signing of Oliver Norwood from Reading..

Solid enough signing, one of the better central midfielders I've seen in the division the past few seasons. Again, no idea if that now means Stephens may be on his way. If not, we're very healthily stocked in midfield at least.

I like Norwood. I think he'll be a good signing for Brighton.

Quite a marmite player at Reading. I was on the side that really liked him, but I know others that won't really be fussed he's gone.

Great player, but only in a team that suits his strengths, which at Reading he never had. Stats do show how good he is, but somewhat overstate it. Find the right mix and we'll be better without, but it's a risk I would rather we didn't take.

Not surprised either, we'd signed 3 players who can play central midfield this Summer, after only losing one, and it already being a position we were well stacked in.

Haven't heard of the price, but I know there was some talk about a £2m move to Hull earlier in the Summer. Would be a shame for anything less than £3m.

Have to assume Brighton have someone leaving too, he's not going to move to sit on the bench. Had plenty of Prem suitors that could have offered that.

Yep i'm not fussed he's gone. As you have said we have a lot of cover in midfield with Evans, Swift, Williams, Quinn, Kelly, Van den Berg and Kuhl (Although can't see him playing much) More often than not Norwoods set pieces are shocking. Majority of the corners he took for us ended up in the opposition keepers hands. Hopefully the money from this and the sale of Tishibola will go towards another striker which is the one area i think we are lacking in.

Went to school with Norwood. Obviously biased but think he's a great player, will be a prem player soon.

You said that about another player, did you go to school with every Champiosnhip player or summat? Either you're the only kid at that school who was wank at Football or you're talking bollocks...

Ross McCormack signs for Aston Villa. He loves a team on the downward trend. Three on the bounce.

I went to school with Oliver Norwood, that's the only footballer anyway (actually an Annan Athletic player too). James Anderson the cricketer also went to my school but he was in sixth form when i went there.

I know Marco Matias and Lucas Joao through a friend, and met Will Grigg this summer also as I work with his dad.

Nice you take such an interest in me SERNWA, I'm flattered.

So you're a Lancashire Dingle and a Midlands Dingle?

Any plans on moving to Barnsley?

Yeah.. not great is it...

Lived in Clitheroe (small town near Burnley) for 16 years, moved to Warwickshire since then.

I'd prefer to say a small town near Blackburn, rather than Burnley but neither covers you in glory.

Clitheroe isn't too bad though and the villages and countryside is nice as fuck round there, big fan of Waddington.

Yes mate, lots of decent villages around there. Waddington agree was a lovely part of the world.. used to play cricket there occasionally.

Shame Burnley, and well Blackburn to a lesser extent are run down cotton mill shitholes

I liked Norwood, but at the same time I'm not fussed he has left. I don't think he suits our side and has tended to slow down the play. In the right team he would be a very good deep lying playmaker.

I think he would of found himself on the bench a lot this season. With the likes of Danny Williams, Stephen Quinn, Joey Van Den Berg, George Evans and Liam Kelly there's enough depth and quality.

That were it!! My apologies, you mentioned Matias and Joao.

I'll raise Oliver Norwood and James Anderson with god of Rotherham Stephen Brogan anyway.
