Snap their hands off! Just crazy money in this league this summer. No wonder we're struggling big time to get players in.
I'd rather he go to Hull than Villa for obvious reasons, but it's absurd money. £7m more than Gray, which is remarkable, especially given he's three(?) years younger and not English.

Looks like the idea of big money for Kodjia has seen us up our target ideas, really like the idea of bringing in Russell if we can get him for £3m, with him Paterson and O'Dowda (plus Freeman still lingering around) we have good options wide and will keep pressure on to perform.

Honestly don't know what to expect in terms of a striker replacement though, honestly wouldn't be surprised to see us look abroad again to try and find another gem given how well Tammy has started.

Can't help but feel for Derby fans. Wreckless once more irrespective of whether they have bids accepted, when will Morris & Co learn that it won't fix their problems?

Odds on for them to finish outside the top 10 this season IMO.

The Championship is ridiculous but it has been for a few years, Premier League clubs can afford to spend crazy with the amount of TV money they get but clubs are gambling at this level on getting promoted. I think we'll eventually see a few going down the Pompey route over the next 5 years, despite Wednesday having a lot of money behind them we haven't spent any farcical transfer fees really.

Ridiculous.
Ekstrand's signing on Monday according to the Ian chap who rings in BBC Bristol every week. Believe it when I see it, maybe Richardson as well...

Thing is I'd hasten to bed we've barely even touched any parachute payments at all. We've recouped about £60M just off player sales in this crazy market.

Villa apparently have bid £8m for Albert Adomah, so another 20% sell on clause would see us net another £1.4m

Richardson was on the pitch Thursday looking round. Thought something would of been announced by now. Ekstrand has been lined up for a while I reckon. One hell of a turnover of players with more to come.

Ekstrand and a bg name proven striker as a replacement from Kodjia and I'll be delighted.

Sunderland linked to £4m move for Flint. Try doubling at this stage of the window, no real time to get a replacement so hopefully we'd just take the piss with the amount we'd want. Ipswich supposedly interested in Marlon Pack too.

Derby linked with Grabban for 6m across a few tabloids and generic Internet chat. But it'd seem odd as Johnson is there and they have bad history from Norwich.

Eunan O'Kane linked with Leeds for 600-700k and we're in turn linked with Charlie Taylor for 7m.

Marc Pugh linked with an unnamed Championship move and has weirdly not made a league appearance yet so there maybe something in it.

We've been linked with Burnley pair Lukas Jutkiewicz and Michael Kightly.

After Lazaar and Murphy confirmed we're now close to Atsu from Chelsea on a season long loan with view to permanent.

Mcmanaman is also said to be close (boo) as our answer to a winger.

Christian Atsu?
The man is a myth I'm convinced. 2 years on loan, one with Everton and one with us, a ton of Dutch youtube clips showing him to be amazing, but nothing more than a few underwhelming cup appearances across the two clubs to show for it.

Aye, that'll be the one. As far as transfers are concerned, Rafa hasn't put a foot wrong in my eyes yet so we'll see ha.

Are you gonna start playing Mousset? We'll have him on loan if not. Seems a waste of a promising lad if you only intend to to have him rotting as 5th choice striker.

Big aspect in how our transfer dealing has improved is the fee's we're now getting for own players. Always used to be something we were terrible at, Maynard comes to mind immediately, but now even players deemed surplus to requirements we're getting decent money for. Agard rumoured £1m+, Williams 800k, Ayling similar. In years gone by they'd have been stuck on the bench or out of the squad until their contract ran down and we let them go for free. And £14m for Kodjia? He's great, but that's ridiculous

Well in Mr Ashton! :2thumb:
You got £300,000 for Agard

Think it might be us after Pugh, what happened with Grabban and Johnson at Norwich?

Many comments out of the club suggesting he has super potential and should be playing a big part at some point. But he's struggling with the tempo of training (which in turn is needed for actual games). He also needs to learn English (which is why Juan Iturbe failed).

Needs time, although we're going to have to unwrap the cotton wool and just play him at some point. But even if he'd moved to Bristol City, if the above is right he might have needed a slow start with you guys also.

Allegedly involved a woman. You probably won't be shocked to hear.

Rumour is Johnson slept with Grabban's wife, which is why Johnson was sold to Derby last summer. Also related to Grabban refusing to play in the League Cup.

What was your record transfer before Agard out of interest? Everywhere I've seen has said its between £500,000 to £750,000 at least.
£200,000 - £250,000 We got Agard for the same price we sold McFadzean, confirmed by Robinson.

Because managers always tell the truth.... Either way, got money for a player who wouldn't feature for us, City in previous years would have been a free transfer or his contract winding down. Good business for both clubs.
