Gyan failed his medical. Nice to know that there are such things as failed medicals in football. Supposedly would take 8 weeks to get fit, then not long after that would be away for 5 weeks for the AFCON.

Leaves us hardly any time to find and bring in a striker, and boy are we desperate.

We should just bring in loads of cheap foreign punts. If they fail, hardly any loss. If they succeed they will be worth £15m in a years time..

Hopefully he pushes on this year. Do you reckon he'll get much game time?

As it stands I see him as third choice behind Bradshaw and Winnall so I reckon he'll get plenty of game time.

EDIT: Marley Watkins has started great too though so there should be healthy competition for the starting places. Great headache for Heckingbottom.

His other headache is his god awful dress sense, did you see him at that Radio Sheffield evening? Looked like a lesbian.

Armstrong confirmed on loan to Barnsley.

Why did you ban SERNWA ffs.
Don't think sernwa was banned, he's just hiding since being made a mug about Taylor Moore. Then Rotherham were spanked so he's staying away a little longer.

Dont think we were ever in for Armstrong, Stubbsy was saying on the radio the other day saying theres no interest in him from us. We play with just the 1 striker so we need a striker who can hold the ball up as well a good finish anyways so Armstrong wouldn't have suited our style of play.

Rico Henry off to Brentford for £1.5m.

Lower fee than he's worth to us as is the Walsall way but I'd guess that we have stacked the deal with plenty of add-ons and sell ons.
Would be absolutely delighted with that if it comes off. £1.5m is the same we sold Bidwell for, effectively replacing him for a younger player on a longer, cheaper contract.

Also now our 3rd member of the League 1 team of the year from last year. On his current form no idea how Bentley didn't make it!

Bit gutted we didn't get Armstrong. Didn't want to pay a loan fee so it was only going to happen if it happened as part of a deal for Judge.

He's better than Bradshaw and Winnal mate, I'd be surprised if he's still behind them two in the pecking order in 6 weeks time.

SERNWA isn't banned.

Jutkiewicz going on loan to Birmingham, how uninspiring.

We've apparently had a bid of £800k rejected by Chesterfield for Gboly Aribiyi.

Don't know anything about him at all TBH, but nice to see us finally being linked to some players after a very quiet time since July 1st.

We've had a couple of bids knocked back for Ariyibi this summer, last one being around £400k I think.

From what I've been told, the £800k bid we put in included a lot of performance related add ons, while Chesterfield want the whole lot up front, plus a sell on fee.

Not sure we'll go to that but it seems he has a lot of pace which is exactly what we need.

They were knocked back as 'derisory' by Chesterfield. He's a good winger so I don't doubt he's worth what they're asking. Our issue with paying that kind of fee is that he would be coming in as back-up to Hammill and Kent at the moment, but who knows? With the Stones and Mawson money coming in we may well be back in for him.

The Mawson money is the only reason we're bidding for Henry. Should basically pay for him for us.

After my meltdown last year about us selling Richard Stearman, we are about to sign him back on a season long loan

I saw that earlier and thought that you'd like that. He's always looked awful when I've seen him for Fulham.

Going back to Kodjia (sorry), why do Villa even want him? They've already got two of the best strikers in the division.

Three in my opinion, Gestede, Ayew and McCormack. I don't want to come across as sour and one of those who when a player leaves the club start badmouthing him, but they're all genuinely better strikers than Kodjia, so the fact they've spent £15m on him is mind-boggling.

Anyone lined up to replace him? Problem is now everyone knows you're loaded they're going to overcharge you for even average players.

Two coming in tomorrow apparently, one is a Swedish striker for £1.4m. Second one needs to be a big name, if we're serious about making a push this season. Fraizer Campbell would be alright. Tomorrow should be interesting.

£10.5m accepted from Burnley for Hendrick. I don't think I would ever say those words.

He's a player that I rate around £1.5m, so to get 10x the amount is quite astonishing. I have to tip my imaginary cap to Sam Rush, he certainly knows how to play the game.

The fact it's Burnley, the self proclaimed non-spenders, makes it much more sweeter.

I know some people rate him because he has moments where he looks like a good player, but if I was to say he has one good game to every 10 then I'd still predict that is a bit generous. Two goals and three assists in 33 games last season, for a supposed attack minded midfielder, tells its own story.

Good luck to him.
