Just check the PFA team of the year for League One last year, that's mostly what Brentford have done!

It's better than our policy of giving players who were okay on loan last season 3 year contracts lol

Not quite his Real Madrid dream, eh? Have a feeling he'll be staying put unfortunately.

My thoughts exactly. Spurs are leading the charge now apparently and if it gets us our £30M then I don't care ha.

Sounds like you were crying out for a winger like Cavaleiro, he would have been the exact sort of player you need.

We were actually linked with him back in July, on paper he looks great and should be a good signing for you.

Maybe not wages but I do think location is a big factor along with your very good reputation which to be fair you've worked hard to gain.

It's a double edged sword. It's a nice part of the country but a footballer's £5k a week in London doesn't go as far as it does in other regions. We've lost out in the past on players despite matching competing offers because it's expensive to live in London.

Three in my opinion, Gestede, Ayew and McCormack. I don't want to come across as sour and one of those who when a player leaves the club start badmouthing him, but they're all genuinely better strikers than Kodjia, so the fact they've spent £15m on him is mind-boggling.

I'd contest Ayew, good player, but he's looked utterly disinterested and selfish this season, with us signing Adomah, he'll take Ayew's postition in the team and I genuinely think he'll be behind Gestede, Kodjia and McCormack in the pecking order now, unless of course Adomah does get injured.

Newcastle have spent circa 60m...... as for Villa it can't be far off the same.

Scandalous amounts, I know Newcastle have all but recouped theirs Villa can't have. Makes the league a mess.

Gollini - £4.25million
Elphick - £3million
Chester - Undisclosed (reportedly £8million)
De Laet - Undisclosed (reportedly £2million)
Jedinak - £4million
Tshibola - Undisclosed (reportedly £5million)
Adomah - Swap for Traore
Kodjia - £11million (potentially rising to £15million)
McCormack - £12million

Roughly £49.25million

Out:

Gueye - £7million
Clark - £5million
Sinclair - £3.5million
Siegrist - £200k
Robinson - Free
Donacien - Free
Crespo - Free
Guzan - Free
Lescott - Free
Sanchez - Loan
Bennett - Free
Okore - Undisclosed (Reportedly about £1million)
Traore - Swap
Veretout - Loan
Gil - Loan
Richardson - Released
N'Zogbia - Released

Roughly £16.7million

So a net spend of around £32.5million, a lot of money for sure, but we've had to replace a squad that wasn't fit to grace League One never mind the Championship, I'd also be willing to wager that our wage bill has gone way down, most players had 25% drops for our relegation, and in our outgoings there is about £400k a week gone there, and I'd say around £170k in, so a saving of £230k a week. It's not that bad when you consider this is a team that managed 17 points last season, the third worst Premier League team ever, and a genuine disgrace to the club who most aren't fit to play League One football imo. We have spent a lot, and it is probably wrong, but the market is inflated as hell right now, we wouldn't have paid half as much for Kodjia and McCormack for a start about 4 years ago.

We are by far the highest spenders in the league (net) though, but then where would we recoup the fees from in our team? Who is going to buy any of that crock of shit for decent money?

Unless either Chesterfield or Luton budge in their valuations, we're done for the day regarding incomings. £800k the last bid for Ariyibi and £500k for McGeegan

Sky Sports reporting Everton have agreed to pay the £30m Newcastle want for Sissoko.

Madness, a world class player is in there for sure, but he's only turned up 3-5 times in as many years!

We've got Jamie Ward in on a season long loan. Always liked him when I've seen him play but I gather he's had injury problems? Either way Cloughie definitely "getting the band back together" so to speak

£30m agreed for Sissoko. Of the opinion that in a window of outrageous fees, this is up there with the most scandalous. Robbed Everton blind for the most average of players.

But... He played well for France. Wonder if he's another Carlos Sanchez? Fantastic for his country, shite for his club.

Looking at his ex clubs in a geographical sense, guessing he'll go on loan to Mansfield or Doncaster in January

How exactly has he managed to get this reputation of being a player who should be starring for a top European club? If he produced what he's capable of on anything close to a consistent basis, then perhaps, but he seems to have done near enough sod all for quite some time. 1 goal all of last season for a supposedly attack-minded player is abysmal.

Maybe he's turned it on a bit more for France? Like Jase says. One of those infuriating 'shop window' sort of players.

8 PL goals in 3 years for his Club and in a tournament that he 'excelled' in for his country, he didn't get a single goal or assist.

He's got this reputation as in every interview he's given for the last 2 years, he's name dropped every Club under the sun (Real Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal) and said how they are the Clubs he should be playing for.

As I've said before, to get your move to the big boys you need to have played well for the stepping stone but he doesn't seem to get that. Instead he's now going to a Club that finished 11th last year and we're getting £30m. The mind boggles.

See, Benteke did the opposite which I found odd. Played his heart out and was fantastic for us, got his big move to a big club and was shite, now he's at.... Crystal fucking Palace.

£5m initial fee being reported for Reach. Remarkable money for such an average player.

Ridiculous amount, although that seems to be the norm now in this league.

Aye he did. Which is class and if Sissoko had have done that I'd have wished him well with bells on.

I just never understand the mentality of thinking your below your station but then not raising your stock on the pitch by actually trying. Least he's going to get his loyalty bonus as he didn't hand in a transfer request the crafty bugger.

No chance we sell at £500k I reckon. We paid £175k for him ourselves 12 months ago with a decent sell-on due to Norwich too so the profit would be nowhere near enough to turn our heads. It was widely rumoured today that we had already turned down a bid of £750k for him and would only sell for silly money basically.

Best for all concerned if he stays where is to be frank - he's a fantastic scorer of goals from midfield and his all-round game is developing and he will definitely be a Championship player sooner rather than later, but right now his technique/passing/vision isn't good enough for the step up. Leave him where he is for a year, he'll be ready to step up and we'll be happy to sell as he'll be worth a lot more and we'll hopefully have got a promotion out of him (bit like what we did with Gray except we are in a stronger negotiating position on this one than back then).

Speaking of average players for £5m, we've had £5m rejected for Joe fucking Mason. State of that.

You believe O'Rourke? He posted that we were 'poised' to sign Moore after the club had revealed the signing.
