He's right though, Villa have a better team, they're a massive club with a better chance of getting to the prem than Bristol City and he doubles his wages. No brainer for me and don't see what's wrong with what he's said.

Laughable. Much prefer O'Neil and Smith.

The last laugh is on you, I'm afraid....Dave Jones and Dean Marney were the main reason Burnley got automatic promotion in 2013/14....not so influential last year but still gave good support to Joey Barton as Burnley stormed to the title.

Maybe not quite good enough to be a PL regular but 4 promotions with 3 different championship teams (Burnley, Wolves and Derby) would suggest Jones is better than any Bristol City midfielder. He'll possibly turn out to be the Owls' best midfielder this season, although he is 32 quite soon.

He got subbed off at half-time on Tuesday because Marlon Pack had him on strings.

Also, O'Neil's been promoted four times from this division, and turned out 33 times in the PL for Norwich last season. Thanks for your time.

Not that I intend to be a c***, nor do I blame Kodjia for wanting to double his wage at a bigger club; but were you not there when we played Villa a few weeks back, Jimmy?

I reckon he has been misquoted there or had it taken out of context somewhat. As someone above says, his English isn't great (not that I know as I've never heard him speak). Have to ask why it would bother any Bristol City fan if he did say those exact words though? I mean Villa are a bigger club in all fairness, and does he really owe Bristol City anything? I mean his goals were pivotal in avoiding relegation last season and they cashed in pretty well on him, what was it a £10million profit?

I've no idea if it was lost in translation, because his English is piss poor so it may have been done in French.

I've no problem with Kodjia leaving, none of our fans are particularly bothered that he's left given we made £10m+ profit on him in the space of a year and have a better player leading the line this season. Villa have the second best squad individually in the league, will they finish second? I don't think so. There's every chance that you could finish above them, especially after both your starts, would that mean you're a better team than them? I'd say so, the league table doesn't lie after 46 games so we'll find out.

Momentum can take you a long way in this league, Villa are still seemingly hungover from last season and some of their fans are turning on Di Matteo.

He was subbed cos we were two down and brought on our talisman, we weren't at the races first half. It could have easily been anyone hauled off.

Gary O'Neil played 33 times for a side in the Premier League last season SF, I think not.

David Jones played 37 times (all starts and not some as sub like O'Neil) for a side in the Premier League last season plus lots of PL games for Wolves and Wigan.

Brad Guzan played 28 Premier League games last season. Anyone gonna claim he's a fantastic keeper and that they'd want him? No? Then I think this argument is utterly ridiculous, you have differences of opinions, well done.

Go through and get me the amount of starts that O'Neil has had in promotion winning seasons from this division if you're that interested.

Huddersfield fans, what's Oscar Gobern like? We've signed him today on a free. What type of midfielder is he?

13 goals in 16 appearances, and 4-5 of those weren't even starts. Just wish we'd had him fit in our first season at this level. Him and Gray up front would have been scarily good.

Few years back had some quality behind him when he was fighting for a contract.

Injury prone as fuck though, cracking pass on him though.

Brilliant video of a tackle from him on a Bournemouth player on YouTube somewhere...

Barton set to leave Rangers according to national newspapers. What a bellend, will probably get a side in this division though.

I hate the bellend, but he'd probably be good for us to be honest.

I think he's brilliant tbh. Would love him to play for us but we could never afford his wages.

Still couldn't play for anyone in the league though could he? Like the Dean Cox situation? Unless it's different as he's coming from the Scottish leagues I suppose.

Jeremy Helan to retire from football at 24 to focus on his religion, strange but nothing surprises me anymore. He's not a very good footballer but wish him well as he seems a nice fella, can't help but feel he might regret this in 15 years time.

The Sun are linking us and Notts Forest with Omar Bogle at Grimsby. Says we could make a 1m bid in January. If that turns out to be true, it looks like we'll be saying goodbye to Grigg this winter.
