Happy enough with Bendtner. A man who is probably as good as Kodjia, McCormack, Vydra etc and cost absolutely nothing. Only issue is the fact he is clearly a tosspot. Who knows, could be great

There's no way we'd have been after Pack we can't fit all the midfielders we have in as it is.
Shouldn't have even signed Jones when you have McGugan sat in your reserves.

100%

He has become a laughing stock but his talent can't be doubted. He is more than good enough at this level and has played champions league football regularly enough.

I'm not pretending his is a world beater but for where we are he is as good as anyone else down here

I agree with the Dogg on Bendtner. Obviously it's a gamble but he's undeniably talented.

Yep. If they can get him focused and playing regularly he's as good as any in this league. You only have to look at his scoring rates for Arsenal (1 in 4 playing almost exclusively as a sub) and Denmark to see he's performed well at levels above this.

There are very few in the Championship who can match Bendtner's pedigree, or even come close to it.

At his full potential, he is far too good for this league.

THAT is why I dispute the claim. Getting the arrogant shit focused and playing regularly doing so is the issue.

I do realise that I'm setting it up for the shitbag to score a hat-trick against us on Sunday, mind you.

All seems a bit similar to Royston Drenthe to make me think he's a good signing for Forest.

Maybe, Bendtner has shown he has the ability though, Drenthe a bit of an unknown

Time will tell, but will be good to have some support for Britt. His wages almost entirely funded by what we got off the bill for Blackstock and he is definitely a step up

Ability wise Bendtner would walk into any team in this division IMO, and some Prem teams. Big question is if Forest can get him playing to the best of his ability.

Greg Cunningham has extended his contract till 2019, great news.

Daniel Johnson, Paul Huntington and Tom Clarke have all signed extensions as well recently and they are also in talks with Bailey Wright & Paul Gallagher, the club have pretty much said that the Garner money is just being used to offer long term contracts to existing players.

It's refreshing that the club is running on a sustainable business model during a time of complete nonsense in terms of wages and transfer fees but it's annoying to lose a good player with no direct replacement.

Can see you struggling to be honest on that model. To see you haven't bought any players since coming up is a strange one, especially when you could of got Bradshaw for half a million.

We bought Eoin Doyle(shit) and Stevie May (injured). We can't compete with the fees and wages in this league and were trying to do it with a good team spirit and organisation, not sure how far this will get us but it's clear we won't be spending big and putting the clubs future at risk. I'm happy with the players being signed up for longer, Clarke and Huntington have their limits but are steady and reliable enough, Cunningham has been brilliant and was one of our better players last season, Johnson if played in his best position behind the strikers is good for 10-15 goals from midfield which with the ridiculous fees nowadays will make us a lot of money at some point in the future.

Bentder walking into any team in this league? Come off it. His scoring record is poor and he's not played a season yet in his career where he's hit 20 goals has he?

He's famous for his ridiculous statements. If he was that good he'd have had loads of clubs trying to sign him but none touched him until forest. Bad apples and won't achieve much at forest is my prediction.

Owner has been stung in the past and won't pay big money so what can you do?

Time will tell my friend. Will reserve judgment, as he's clearly a risk but for a free signing he could be the difference between a bad and good season.

You guys also have your own scoring issues don't you? Just the 12x as many goals we've scored so far (and double the points).

Still, at least you didn't spend £30m to get there...

Also, Bendtner will cost us no more than £2.5m over two years... That is 1/3 of a Vydra (without wages) and 1/5 of a McCormack (without wages). Complete and utter no brainer.

Ha! Don't get me even started on our recruiting policy. It's a shambles and a disgrace. We can't even justify any price tag we've paid for any player now for a few years. Only Thorne I think was value for money and he's made of glass.

Talisca scored against his parent club in the Champions League tonight for Besiktas, he could have been in the squad that got destroyed 4-0 at home to Barnsley.

The lad doesn't know what he's missing.

Not that I intend to be a c***, nor do I blame Kodjia for wanting to double his wage at a bigger club; but were you not there when we played Villa a few weeks back, Jimmy?

Bit disrespectful to your team mates and the club who made his name. He'd still probably be rotting in France on a 1/4 of the wage he is on now if Bristol City didn't take a chance on him.

Yeah have to say unless he's been taken out of context by someone whose missed a few words to make a story he doesn't come across well in that, I know he still doesn't speak English all that well but you'd think he'd come across a tad gracious to the club rather than us simply be cast offed. Shows we were well and truly just a stepping stone for him. Would love Villa to struggle in this division for a few seasons alone on this basis.

A bit sad, but he probably hadn't even heard of Bristol City 18 months ago, we were always going to be a stepping stone. That's football.

It is pretty funny given how we've just given them a bit of a beating but to be honest you'd still expect them to finish above us this year. And tbf he was in a side promoted to Ligue 1, had just been top goalscorer in Ligue 2, someone would have taken a chance on him if not us

A stepping stone to Villa though? I'm not quite sure that's what he'd have had in mind.

I'm sure he'll be earning decent coin, but he'll have wanted top flight football, I'm going to stick my neck out and say he won't be getting that next season.

As a championship club, maybe not. But it can't be denied a club like Villa is a big attraction. And I still reckon they'll be up at least around the playoffs come the end of the season, string a couple of results together and they'll get on a roll
