We enquired about signing Nugent on loan in August but boro said he was in their plans.

Definitely worth asking again in January. No idea if he actually knows him but Warren Beattie said on Facebook to Michael Keane "I do know that he wants to come back but wages could be a stumbling block"

First rumour of the Winter is Jordon Mutch. Not a priority position to strengthen, but wouldn't mind him.

Our potential Chinese owners are now completing their fit and proper test with the FL, so who knows what we'll do this January.

Think were just shipping out the shit in January. Lambert says he wants to get rid of 7 or 8 players.

Get 'em all out apart from Dangerous Dave!

Fixed ;)

On a serious note, the players I think will leave

Ola John
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson
Paul Gladon
Silvio
Lee Evans
Two out of Jack Price / George Saville / Prince Oniangue / Joao Texiera

Think we will bring in 2, a striker and midfielder.

I thought CBJ would be a class signing.

To be fair he hasn't done much wrong, and I would like to keep him. The only reason that we know he will leave is because Man Utd have included him for their Europa League squad.

He is one of those players where consistancy is his main weakness. Can be great one game and completely anonnymous the next. Suppose you could say that of any kid who has only played a handful of games in his career though.

I have no idea what our business will be like in January to be honest. Barring a LB maybe, I think our first 11 and squad are good enough to continue to compete at the top for the rest of the season.

There'll be the obligatory link of Andy Carroll's return but that's a given.

Few rumours doing the rounds that Bailey Wright could be off to China where he'll be on £30k a week.

I'd rather him go abroad than to another Championship club, couldn't blame him for that sort of money.

Got a big signing lined up I'm told. And a winger coming in too.

The bit about us needing to upgrade on him, and him signing a year extension just for an extra bit of cash.

He's not going anywhere, and he's a good defender at this level. More than good enough for us. Maybe in years to come if we do progress Taylor Moore will break through to the first team and take his place, he looks very promising as well. Flint's got his best years to come still, he's only 27.

I'll move this over to the Bristol City thread when I get home for those who are about to moan.

Flint is fucking shit, his goals have gone so does need to do one.

Disappointed in Bailey if true, seems a pointless move but obviously Bristol City pay better wages than us.

You wondered why I asked how good he was earlier?

Derby and Norwich sniffing around Yanic. If that happens then we'll be finishing 24th in May rather than 23rd.

Just been reading PNE's forum, christ almighty. Some suggesting it'd be a backwards step, including you SF. Someone also said he's better than Flint.

From his POV, joining a club on double the wage with a more realistic chance of getting Premier League football in the next few years (by your own admission, you said you'd never see PNE play in the top flight in your life time) it's a no brainier for him. Though he won't get into our team anyway so I don't really see he point in it, centre back is one of the only positions we don't need quality additions.

Wages aside of course it's a backward step, we finished above you last season and at the minute look likely to do so again, that's a backward step. If he was to join a Derby, Sheff Wed etc then that would be understandable as they really are likely to get to the prem before us.

Also in this league Flint is shit.

What, because you're on a good run at the moment and we're not and are a few points ahead in December?

Double the wage would be enough for it to not be a backwards move for him, but to play infront of nearly double the home fans every week with a club spending money to try and reach the likes of Wednesday and Derby in the next couple of years would just about do it as well.

You ought to follow us as you'd know that Flint's been great for us at this level and is one of the few players in our side I wouldn't realistically be looking to upgrade, and Wright isn't an upgrade at all.

Edit: also, there's a good reason that clubs like Derby and Wednesday aren't interested in him, otherwise he wouldn't be coming here.

Never seen Bristol City in the top flight either, always been shitter or about on par with us. Not sure how it would be a no brainer or how you have a more realistic chance of promotion in the short term.

I've no idea what sort of wages you pay but if you double his wage then fair enough, I think he could do better if he waited till the summer though. From what i've seen he is better than Flint.

Good to get some cash rather than him just leaving for free but its not a career advancement on his part (if it happens).

Yeah, I was going to say that I thought your lot would be happy if you get a fee for him rather than him going for nothing in a few months time.

Depends what he's on now but we've got players like O'Neil, Tomlin etc on £20k so we'd certainly pay for him if he was interested, we shall see.

In my opinion he would be an upgrade on Flint.

I said wages aside it would be a backwards move or at the very least a sideways one. If he goes it will be because of the money as you no doubt pay a lot more than us and you can't blame him for that.

Whether you like it or not we are a better team than you at the minute as was proven last season and bar the first 6 games of this season we're proving again this.

The reason clubs like Derby and Sheffield Wed aren't after him is because they're big clubs and can attract better, your lot have proven over the last couple of windows that despite thinking you can play billy big bollocks in this league you can't because your just an average championship side like the majority of us.
