Disappointing to lose Ramsdale to Manchester City, can't blame him though the money and the job role he's been offered there he'd have been daft to turn it down. It's a shame because he's really helped turn the academy around over the last 4 years, we've finally got some good young players being brought through at all age groups.

As for Barry Bannan I'd rather we kept hold of him, as on his day he's one of the best in the league, last season wasn't as impressive but I think the system and the fact he was playing through an injury quite a lot contributed. However we do have a lot of squad depth in midfield and if he was to go for good money then it might open up a door for Almen Abdi to finally get a run next season. Would absolutely love us to sign Jota and with him only having 12 months on his contract at Brentford we could get him a fair bit cheaper, we're crying out for a wide man who can score goals and beat a man.

When we played Walsall at home he was ridiculous. It was like he was taking every shot on goal as a personal insult.

That's not a bother, we've never had a keeper that can kick straight anyways. Warnock has said that they'll both be squad players to begin with, so I'm happy enough with that. Still a bit of work to do though, only area we don't need strengthening is centre back really.

Any news on who your new academy manager will be? Few years ago but the lad who ran most of the FA coaching courses I did was fairly high up in your academy. Something Williams (John I think) so just wondered if he was still there.

Incidentally I was told that the reasons Scott Sellars left City's academy and went to Wolves was because he was frustrated with the lack of effect it was having on the first team.

Etheridge is decent. As other have said, he's a cracking shot stopper but his kicking is truly atrocious. He also spends more time caring about his hair (I think he says that he gets a cut every week!) than he will trying to improve his kicking.

Yeah he ain't as bad at it as he is at kicking but is really hesitant in coming off his line and can get flappy if under pressure.

Absolutely no idea mate, to be brutally honest our academy has been piss poor until the last few years so I've barely took any notice of it until recently.

I can definitely see that being a real frustration for anyone working at the big clubs in England, City especially seem poor at blooding their own youth, apart from Stephen Ireland I'm struggling to think of anyone they've brought through.

Probably be about as fucking useful up front as he is at the back. In fact, I'd prefer him up there, strikers don't tend to make mistakes leading to stupid goals.
