Well according to the Portuguese papers we're signing Sa for 1 million euros. Yet to be reported much in England but if true that's 1 million more euros than I was expecting us to spend this Summer. Thought we were just going to go through the free transfer market.

Guess it depends on how much wages we've actually cut.

You are so annoyed about it you had to tell us twice. No surprise we didnt try and get him.Would have liked him at Reading as he was one of the few attacking players who made an effort last season. At the moment we are stuck with lazy shits like Kanu and the shit fucking Russian up front who scored a grand total of 7 goals last season.

I am sure our Thai leaders will spend a small amount of money soon.

Our local paper E&S saying were after Kanu now, but then again we call it the B&S for good reason...

Shame, was hoping his performances for Wales would help generate interest.

Yeah, the only player this summer I would be glad to see the back of. Karacan going to Galatasaray apparently, which would be a shame, but probably understandable considering his injury problems.

We don't seem to be setting our sights very highly in the replacement for Sako. Someone who's struggled to make it on the first team for Reading isn't going to set the world alight, tbf. No disrespect to Reading or their Thai carpet manufacturing football fanatic owners.

Would like us to go for the likes of Wahbi Khazri or Gaston Ramirez from Southampton. Or Alexandru Maxim.

Got a feeling KJ will want Razek Boukari to be Sako's replacement, and spent the money elsewhere. Either that or Jed Wallace is much better than we think he is.

Razak BUPAkari is the answer only to the question "Who?". Sell him. If necessary to a medical school. I don't believe for a minute that Jackett is interested in a man who has been injured for so long.
Jed Wallace is 'one for the future', surely.

It's a shame about Boukari, when we signed him he was supposed to be the better one out of him and Sako, and from the cameo appearances we've seen of him he looks decent. Probably being too hopeful but if we can get the sort of player back that he was before he had his injuries I think he could really soften the blow of Sako leaving. Being realistic though I doubt he will ever be the same player before his injury. He's been out for the best half of 3 years, I don't think I've ever seen a player with such bad luck regarding injuries.

Blackman for me also.

Yea Karacan is a massive shame. Potentially one of our best players, and one of the best in the league, but with financial struggles we can't afford to risk paying out lots of of money and a long contract on someone who has had two major injuries and only played 15 games in 2 seasons. I suppose at least he'll be going to Gala, doubt we would have competed with them with the same offer anyway. He's a massive Gala fan too.

Orlando Sa record for Legia Warsaw Appearances - 132 Goals - 44
Hardly set the world alight with those stats and the guy has an attitude problem but maybe he will bloom at Reading.

Worrying that we have only made one signing so far (Alex Jones who'll be a development squad player most likely). Most of our reported targets have been snapped up by other clubs and the majority of free agents are agreeing deals with other clubs :/

All still very quiet on our front.

Not concerned at all, last year was a one off that we did all our transfer dealings so early, as in that league we were the big fish, and we could cherrypick anyone we wanted.

It's going to be harder to identify targets and get them for the right price this year, but the transfer window isn't even open yet, so there's no need for concern. This time last year we hadn't signed anyone either.

14 in 31 for Warsaw. Not an amazing record throughout his career but has picked up in recent seasons.

Also only turned 27 recently so just coming into his peak years. Seems to be a bit of a target man too, so depends on how well he feeds others into the game.

He must have had decent talent at one point after getting a Portugal cap when he was 21 after only scoring a handful of professional goals in Portugal before then.

Don't think he'll be the saviour we all want in a striker, but almost certainly will be an improvement on what we've got.

My point is that we don't have much funds available as you probably know, so I'd imagine the majority of our signings will be free transfers and only one-or-two purchased for small fees. Is there going to be much left when we do start signing people?

If we sign Shackell then I'd imagine Rawson will join Rotherham on loan.

I'd imagine they would have a fair bit of competition, but after last season's success I think they would be his first choice.

Hope you're right 91SPP. We only have 2 Centre Halves currently, Richard Wood & Kirk Broadfoot, with Kari Arnason playing more of a Midfield role. I'm sure Evans would welcome Rawson back with open arms.

We still have a lot of business to do, as do most other teams. Me personally feel we need, GK, RB, CH, CM, RW, LW & CF.

Is Garner really that good? He's got a great record in League One - 69 in 167 appearances - but his record in the Championship is poor - 16 in 90.

It'll be interesting to see how he does this season, I'll be surprised if he nets more than 15 goals, mind.

I'd take 15 from him this season, he brings a lot more to this team than goals and has come on a lot compared to the player we signed from Watford. Was the most hated player in League One because he's a dirty, cheating bastard and for his size he's excellent in the air - him and Beckford complement each other perfectly.

Seems to take a lot of time to settle at new clubs which has done him no favours, he was gash in his first 15 games for us.

League One player of the year and 27 goals last season despite missing 10 weeks of the season, he's doing something right.

Are you also waiting patiently for SERNWA to return and rip you to shreds? He seems to particularly target fans of his own club because you don't have his contacts in the Rotherham United media room, and therefore know nothing about anything and are you 12 and what a fucking twat you are and stuff. And are you mental?

He's right though. You all know he is. And moving your club to a new ground didn't shake him off either.

I won't be looking forward to facing him next season. Would have loved to have him come in here.

We're linked with Andreas Bjelland from Twente. Seems a bit of a stretch to me, key player for them, and has played a lot for Denmark. Would be a great signing if we could pull it off, as we need a top quality centre half to play alongside Dean / Tarky.

Would be a good statement of intent. Our signings so far look like low-risk gambles as squad players, looking forward to seeing who we sign to improve our first XI.

Done well to tie Garner down to an extension to be fair - didn't he sign a 2 year deal last Summer as well? I've seen many skeptical comments as to whether he'll quite cut it in the Championship, but the proof will be in the pudding this season, full season in the Championship being the number 1 starter.

He signed an extra 1 year, so he would have been out of contract at the end of this season.
