Whelan done too (£1.5million), not confirmed, but...

(Bit worrying that Gabby seems to be sexually aroused by Whelan and Terry, mind...)

Highest ever average age for a squad in the Championship?

Got to be pretty close.

Probably getting there. If it gets us promoted I couldn't give a shite. We've made a profit so far this window and probably will overall. :dk:

The way our fans have behaved recently? (Such as booing the team off in a fucking friendly Vs Walsall)

I agree.

He should just come back here and be loved.....bring Brunt with him too.

You'll be lucky to keep him: as has been said in this thread before there is a lack of good goalscorers at the minute
I suppose the saving grace for us is that he has only had a good 6 months in his whole career and not shown any consistency yet. If he carries on the way he is going though he'll be gone in January no doubt. The boy definitely has all the skills to make it at the top.

How many CM's do Villa need like. :pond:
RB is the best one... De Laet, Bree, Hutton, Richards, could make an argument for Elmohamady (WB) and Bacuna too...

In terms of midfielders, I get where you're coming from, however after Lansbury, Hourihane and Jedi, we've nothing of quality at all. We've had no replacement for Jedi and didn't win a game last season when he didn't play, so that's what Whelan is there for.

Holmes would be here had our owners offered enough.

I thought Wilder said something about offering what Charlton wanted. Then they asked for more and he backed out. Not sure how much is the club being tight and how much is Wilder sticking to his guns and not paying more than he feels a player is worth to us.

Oxford United boss has said captain John Lundstram could complete his move to ourselves tomorrow. No idea what he's like but their fans seem annoyed (especially at Wilder) with a fee suggested to be below 1mill

Think Oxford have had a couple of decent fees in recent times (Roofe was circa £3m from memory, I'm sure a Leeds fan can correct me, and I think O'Dowda was over £1m plus add ons).

But for a decent midfielder* who is only 23ish, them wanting £1m plus wouldnt surprise me

*no idea if he is decent or not, assuming there must be some talent if a Championship club want him.

£3m total, I think they need us to hit a few more addons to get that , I think they got 2m up front though

He was our back up target last summer after a few deals fell through. Looks a good player but now we finally got Mokotjo our interest ended.

Sub-£1m seems a little low but about right

Sky reckons 500k.

If you guys were in for him last season then I'd expect him to be a decent signing. Imagine he'll be back-up to Coutts initially. May end the Leonard interest or Leonard could be seen as a Fleck back-up.

Leeds after Flint and Bryan according to their end.

Good luck with Flint, absolutely no chance, but if Bryan wants a lift to Leeds I'll hire a car and illegally drive him there. Can't believe some of the clubs reportedly in for Bryan, do they see something the rest of us don't?

Think that should probably tell you something. Flint would seem a bigger loss now, but I think we'd regret letting Bryan go more

I feel Bryan could be one of those players that needs to move to really push on as a player, Ashton Gate is too comfortable for him as a way as he's always been here (barring loan). Flint I feel we'd need £5m to make us listen, purely because we're in the position of not needing to sell.

Yeah, Flint would be a huge loss mate but if he's going to go it's not going to be to leeds.

I agree with you Hodge, Bryan and Reid I think both need to move on to push on with their careers. Too comfortable for them here.

He probably would push on big time if he got a move but that would say more about us than it would about him imo.

Emiliano Marcondes, 22 year old Danish attacking midfielder, about to sign a pre-contract agreement with us to join on a free in January.

I would guess that's us lining up replacements in advance so we don't have to pay over the odds in Jan should anyone leave. Might be our Jota replacement.

This transfer window has been brilliant for us. I'm sure we'll lose a couple of first choice players, but that's what we've got to do to survive anyway. We've only spent about £5m anyway, a lot of that covered by departures that have already happened, so any sales are profit for the club again.

He'd go to Leeds. Huge football club on the up again, it's a no brainer

Jon Toral linked with us. I don't think it comes as any surprise considering the success he had at Birmingham under Rowett. I'd imagine that it would be a permanent deal, somewhere in the region of £1-2m.

I'm not quite sure where he would play, but I can see why Rowett would want to get a player he's had success with previously and rates very highly. I find the comments made about Toral quite interesting, whereas, with Hughes, he couldn't wait to see the back of him. I'd say they're quite similar players (on paper).

Elmohamady is a very good signing, good enough for the Premier League from what I've seen of him. Interesting to see how lots of Hull players are leaving to different Championship clubs, they obviously have no faith in the club to go back up next year (or are just getting paid more at their new clubs).

Dunno about Bryan but the Flint speculation has come about because he liked a tweet saying he'd be good at Leeds.
That could literally mean anything, could be a misclick, maybe he just felt flattered or maybe he's actually joining Leeds.
