I'd count 50% of the teams in this league as sideways moves, not just yourselves. Flint being 28, anyone who isn't a realistic promotion candidate is a sideways move, therefore the only realistic reasons are first team football (he's been played every game he's available over last 2 years), family (seems unlikely) or money which is the most likely cause of him wanting away. Boro would fit the bill of a bigger move but not to a team such as yourself if you're likely finishing mid table at best.History matters squat when the pinnacle of your existence is being the most ‘successful’ club of the EFL Trophy. Your highest attendance in 37 years was against us, we had a bigger attendance in that previous week against Huddersfield. If we look past last season… the last time you averaged a higher attendance was in ’91, it was 22 years when you last finished above us, and 24 years when you last beat us. If Flint was to see it as a ‘sideways' move, he would surely be happy staying where he is.
