What sort of price wouldn't be derisory for a lad who has appeared twice for the senior side and can leave for a tribunal fee next year?
Or do you reckon the tribunal fee would be worth more as it is than the offer?
Obviously you'd rather keep him, but if a sale were inevitable?

We'll get more than that at tribunal I'm sure, considering QPR just sold a kid who'd never played for them for about £4M I'd expect at least that. If it's lack of first team opportunities he's frustrated with then I don't see how moving to you will help, he'll only end up out on loan like he will here.

Yeah tbh it looks more like an investment signing, like Lawrence appears to be given his current situation.

Liam Moore has signed a new four year deal. Fantastic work by the club - only Obita left to follow Swift and Liam Kelly in signing new deals.

He only signed for you a year ago. He been that good to warrant a new deal then?

Just seen Stephy Mavididi could be joining Preston on loan.

Shame that for us, Karl Robinson has been to watch him a couple of times this pre-season with hopes of bringing him back here.

Hard to say in all honesty after only playing 5 games, would have been more had it not been for his injury.

Showed flashes of a good player though. Quick, strong and not bad with the ball at his feet. Nearly scored goal of the season, got the ball on the edge of our own box, ran the whole length of the pitch, beating half the Rochdale side in the process only to miss the bloody one on one.

I mean you obviously don't start near what you'd be happy to pay and all but how did they think we'd even consider anything like that when that figure alone probably wouldn't be enough to sell Flint for. Think we probably want at least £5m for Flint (to have made a decent bonus over what we bought Baker for) and Bryan would likely be £3m-£4m as his attributes fit the style LJ wants to play and it would be difficult to get someone else in who fits that cheaply.

Looks like he could be a decent option, him and Barkhuizen on the counter would shit a few defences up.

Nothing says poor education in English schools like not knowing where Saudi Arabia is.

Out of interest, what subject or qualification do you feel you'd benefit from, if you had to look at a map and draw on the borders for Saudi Arabia?

As I said yesterday, we shouldn't deal with Redknapp. Fat melted welly faced meathead.
Flint has had his head turned by a bigger club. Rejecting our bid is only delaying the inevitable. He wants to leave.

I'm well aware I posted it in here last week. £2m isn't going to buy his left knee cap though, and you're not the only club that's been bidding - Boro have, which I expect will be the one that has turned his head, not Birmingham.

Andre Gray doesn't look like it will happen. Sam Gallagher will be more likely, although it will be a loan to avoid any FFP action. You should all vent your anger at Middlesbrough, they have spent much more than we have

Yep great news. Maybe not our best player yet, but very important and will be our next captain when McShane leaves IMO. I would also add Evans to the list of players needing an extended deal too.

Potentially have our midfield/defence all signed up for a minimum of 3 years then.
Swift Evans Kelly
Obita Ilori Moore Gunter

That certainly is good enough to get promoted in the next 3 years, just need the final pieces upfront. Already have one season all playing together too.

It was only confirmed by Lee Johnson today that Flint wants out.

Wrong, it was Joe Bryan who Middlesbrough put a bid in for.

No it wasn't, Boro have bid several times for Flint, I assume Gibson is off.

You must be absolutely praying you don't sign him
I am not convinced that he's better than what we have but as a direct replacement for Ryan Shotton, he'll do.

No it wasn't :bl:
It was reported by Somerset Live, Yorkshire Post, etc. but looking at it again, it looks like they got there info from HITC.

And here's Clayton Donaldson twice exposing Flint's obvious defensive weaknesses.

Slow, clumsy, positionally poor, and loses track of the player he is meant to be marking.

Although most (if not all) of those goals were scored against L1 defenders, he is probably better suited as a forward than a centre-half.
All about Flint, and now apparently "he'll do" as a replacement for Brum's best centre back. Lol.

I would put Shotton as our third best CB behind Morrison & Roberts. As does Redknapp.

Point me to where Middlesbrough have bid 'several times' for Flint...

From just watching him in pre-season, he is clearly an upgrade on what we've got. He absolutely bossed us at St Andrews last season when he was at Barnsley. Looking forward to seeing more from him.

A Charlton fan has tweeted that Mavididi was at our training ground today.

How true that is I've no idea but they've also tweeted a picture of Ben Reeves at the training ground who is supposedly signing today so that person has obviously been down there.

Obviously being London-based will help your cause, as well as being able to guarantee more playing time (I presume).

I like the sound of him though, would be happy to see him turn up here on loan.
