He said on radio bristol before the match he would start talks at 5 mil.

Just saw that Nixon has said both us, and Birmingham are after vassel at Luton.
We've been after Vassel a while.
Their chairman spokes about rejecting a bid from us a few weeks ago

Sounds like we've beaten Sunderland to the signing of Martyn Waghorn from Rangers for around £1 million, going to be announced Monday.

44 goals in 63 starts and 15 sub appearances, scored 16 last season and will obviously link up well with Garner.

In Scotland with half of them coming in the second tier. His English Championship record is a lot less flattering.

Yup, aware of that. Not suggesting he'll be as prolific as that for us for a second. He fits the bill to play the role we're currently missing (despite only being 5'10) though and that will make most Town fans feel a lot more comfortable about prospects for this season. A week or two ago it was looking like we might have had our lot with regards to forward options!

Harlee Dean would be a much better defender for most teams at this level, and would cost an awful lot less than £10m

Good. Hopefully this reignites their interest in McBigmac.

For some reason Mick McCarthy was in the paper this weekend saying we've priced Hugill at £6m, according to agents he's spoken with.

I'm starting to think we'll keep him, he doesn't seem the sort to kick up a fuss and he was quality in his cameo on Saturday.

What can you tell me about Tom Field Bee, any good?
Good defender, was almost MotM for us on his debut. Very raw still, but he's a tall lad, good athletic ability, better at defending than attacking.

He's our 2nd choice left back, but wouldn't have any chance starting unless there was an injury to Rico Henry.

Probably doesn't have a huge ceiling, he'll eventually settle down to L1 / Championship level.

It's because we still needed a striker at the time, and our media asked the (rather silly) question as to whether Hugill was now out of our price range.

As for us, Waghorn looks set to complete and be available to play against Luton tomorrow night. Furthermore we're supposedly in for Craig Noone from Cardiff for a suggested fee of around £500,000. That would bring our business this window to a close to to be fair to Mick, he'll have done exactly what he'd set out and promised to do with regards to signings/positions.

It will also mean a £4,000,000 window for us in terms of transfer fees. Yes, pennies to most others in this league but quite the opposite for us in terms of our spending in recent seasons...!

Ipswich have done decent business for me.

Iorfa, Garner, Adeyemi, Huws... Nothing exciting but enough to steady last season's decline and try and push back into the top half. Can see the need for another striker though, not sure Waghorn is the man but even lower league clubs are demanding big money for their players now.

Alex Baptiste signs for QPR.

Good player but massive question marks over his fitness.

Yeah. I don't think we'll be pulling up any trees but confident we have more than enough to be clear of any danger this season now. Garner has had an excellent pre season too, and whilst Waghorn (if he signs) isn't the target man many of us were expecting he's stocky enough to cause a nuisance (similar to Garner in that sense) and hopefully that signals Micks intent to keep it on the deck like we did against Brum.

Steady, if uninspiring would be my bet for the season ahead but like a big handful of other teams there's certainly a question mark over us.

Garner suits McCarthy's style down to a tee, he'll have a good season cos they'll play to his strengths, unlike we did.

Fairly reliable guy on twitter, shock horror it comes in the week building up to our game, while I don't doubt Brum would like to buy them I feel Harry knows what he's doing attempting it before our game, he must know we wouldn't sell before the game against them. However we've said Bryan will not be leaving unless to a premier league club, yes we said the same about Kodjia but it took a potential £15m deal to get us to sell to a team in this division. For Bryan it would probably take a bid of £7m individually to get us to do the same. Flint supposedly can leave for £5m plus, so by that the £8.5m deal, Brum are bidding £3.5m for Bryan.

Not quite, we will start talking at £5m. (Words to that effect)
Will be more if/when he goes, either lower total fee with more money up front, rest add ons. Or a larger fee with less upfront but more add ons.

TBH 8.5 should really take that for Toblerone foot and Bryan
I wouldn't for Bryan, would mean having to rush bringing a left back in and leaving us with Golbourne if we don't get the right one. Johnson is trying to play a way which involves a certain type of full back, we have one in that mould. To get a replacement for Bryan which fits our requirements would cost a decent amount.

Kelly is close to the first team.
Wouldn't want him as the main guy for most of the season, but IMO he is ahead of Golbourne in the plans.
In a year or two I can see Bryan gone and Kelly stepping in.
