Mendes will have a clause in his deal, one that benefits him not Wolves IMHO.

I think precisely THIS is why many at Wolves have a right to be more worried about agents influence than other clubs have much to fear of any link. It's a sense that the cub may not be in charge of decisions ultimately.

The reports of Neves going to Liverpool are interesting. I think, for us at Wolves we are not really used to having players for whom other clubs would pay big money. We've had a few, obviously, but none spectacular for many years until this last season. But now, Neves, Jota, maybe Cavaleiro, Douglas and Coady all could well attract attention from bigger clubs.
Of course, our owners...and fans...want us to be one of those bigger clubs, but that is a lot harder than it sounds. It's not just about money. In fact, you could look at both Burnley, Southampton (and to a degree Bournemouth) and Leicester a couple of years ago and show that - relative to Chelsea and City - you don't need a huge amount of money always to do relatively well.

Been telling my pal all year Henderson wouldn't get in the Wolves team, so not surprised they are looking at Neves. E

Neves is a £40M pound player minimum, how a player of that ability has spent a year playing Championship football is crazy, probably the best midfielder to ever play at this level.

Obviously the agent thing helped but the transfer was a rumour for ages and I imagine that is because they were trying to find him a club willing to pay £18million euros for him and no one would.

He reaffirmed his desire to stay just this week. So that, his agent and his relationship with Nuno makes me think we have some chance of retaining him.

Was a pleasure watching Wilshere here for a season, technically speaking the most accomplished player I've seen wear the shirt, oozes class at times. We even managed to keep him fit for 6 months. But he's very frustrating at times, cannot play in a midfield two, and will fade badly for periods of games and/or the season as a whole. At his low points he was on our bench (although a decent sub to have).

God I love Jack Wilshere

Wilshere & Pearson for England.

We'd piss the group stages but then Pearson would be suspended and Wilshere injured when we get to the knockouts.

Best keeper in the league, you aren't having him. You've already got two decent Championship standard keepers anyway haven't you?

Forster’s one of our highest paid players, probably around £80k-a-week, which isn’t sustainable down here and he’s a bit shit now.

Meanwhile, McCarthy’s solid, but won’t win us three points on his own like the likes of Kelvin Davis and Richard Wright did when we were last down here.

Therefore, many feel we need a new goalkeeper, but hasn’t Westwood been displaced by Wildsmith?

McCarthy is better than Westwood imo

Westwood has been injured for most of the season.

Yeah he's suffered a groin problem, Wildsmith has done well but is still a young kid and will make mistakes while he learns, would rather we keep Westwood as number 1 and send Wildsmith out on a loan spell to play 46 games next season.

Wednesday are gonna have such a good team next season, just need to get rid of Luhukay and get a decent manager in :animatedf:

Some bloke on Twitter reckons WBA are after Johnson and Wilder. Their fans seem to be taking it as gospel so assume he has a decent track record. I seriously doubt either of them would go.

Not sure if he'd be any use to us if he can't play in a midfield two. Obviously he's a great player but his injury record doesn't inspire me with confidence. Would be a very good signing for free and a statement of intent though.

Wilshere has been near enough an ever present for Arsenal hasn't he? Why would he sign for Wolves?

Depends on the price IMHO. He was anonymous at our place and I was watching him closely to see what we missed. I assume he's a fair bit better than that?

Did you go to Barnsley at home last year? He was great, but then so was Ryan Kent that day which is why our fans were so excited when he signed - but I'd seen a bit more of him to know he was gash.

I think he's a solid winger who would fit our system more than Kent who I think upsets the balance of the side. He (Watkins) is quite similar to O'Dowda in a way but he scores more goals, 12 last season for Barnsley from memory and I think Johnson would get the best out of someone like that.

Anything less than £1.5m and we'd be laughing mate.

What's happened to Kent? He looked great for Barnsley last season.
