Been ok for us, not quite up to this level in my opinion though. We've got rid of Holmes too on loan so basically 2 shit signings last January. At least we can't start the same midfield again thank fuck now. No incomings though, don't normally care too much but we had a so called increased budget and sold someone for 12m in total and have only spent 4m ffs. Need to pull of a couple of big loans now.
Any idea on Evans fee? Either we’ve gone and used the upfront cash for Burn early on, or Henry Cheng left his wallet in the DW Directors box on Saturday.

Wasn't the David Brooks deal made up a lot in instalments rather than a big up front lump? Maybe that's why not as much has been reinvested, still I'd not be best pleased if I were you as the Brooks money was supposed to be going on top of an already increased budget wasn't it?

Brooks money is a guaranteed 11.5m not including any add ons. It's in instalments but most transfers are . The 1st instalment covers the whole egan fee, so other than some wages we've spent absolutely fuck all.

I've seen it reported you've asked for a bigger fee which is absolutely the right thing to do. If we can't get our house in order then Brentford should definitely make us pay for it.
We haven’t asked for one before the deadline, but yeah, we told Swansea if it went past the transfer window, where we could only replace with loans (the loan window is still open, so a loan to perm deal can still be done) then the price would be £1m more.

But until 5pm today the price was the same as the one we agreed on

Apparently rejected a last minute combined bid from Middlesbrough for George Saville and Jed Wallace.

Not sure what they were up to unless they're trying to unsettle those players for a second bid in January? No way we were letting them go on deadline day.

Think we've done some cracking business this summer, and had the security to turn down the £6m Woods offer from Swansea despite probably being solid enough without him. Our B team transfers look like something from Championship Manager (unofficial fees in brackets - sell-ons received for Mawson & Button):

First-Team
In

Ezri Konsa – Charlton Athletic, Undisclosed Fee (£3m+)
Saïd Benrahma – OGC Nice, Undisclosed Fee (£2.75m)
Julian Jeanvier – Stade De Reims, Undisclosed Fee (£1.8m)
Moses Odubajo – Free Agent

Out
Andreas Bjelland – Released
Konstantin Kerschbaumer - FC Ingolstadt 04, Undisclosed Fee (£800k)
John Egan – Sheffield United, Undisclosed Fee (£4.1m)
Florian Jozefzoon – Derby County, Undisclosed Fee (£2.75m)
Theo Archibald – Forest Green Rovers, Season-long loan
Reece Cole – Yeovil Town, Season-long loan
Justin Shaibu – Boreham Wood, Season-long loan
Ellery Balcombe – Boreham Wood, Five-month Youth Loan

Brentford B
In

Kolbeinn Finnsson – Groningen, Free Transfer
Patrik Gunnarsson – Breidablik, Undisclosed Fee
Jonny Mitchell – Falkirk, Undisclosed Fee
Luka Racic – FC Copenhagen, Undisclosed Fee
Nikolaj Kirk – FC Midtjylland, Season-Long Loan
Cole Dasilva – Unattached
Matej Majka – AC Sparta Prague, Undisclosed Fee
Canice Carroll – Oxford United, Undisclosed Fee
Jan Zamburek – Slavia Praha, Undisclosed Fee

Out
Zain Westbrooke – Coventry City, Free Transfer
Ilias Chatzitheodoridis – Panathinaikos, Undisclosed Fee
Raphael Assibey-Mensah – Released

Jay DaSilva on loan for the season from Chelsea. While Chelsea were confirming it on their twitter feed, City were buggering about with silhouettes! :(

Great signing. Sometimes you watch certain players in League One and just know they’re too good and will continue to excel at a higher level. Dasilva is one of those.

Innit. Sharpe loves a deadline day marquee signing. And apparently we’re not done yet...

Joe Garner inbound. It's like real life Football Manager at the DW.

Garner also to Wigan for £1.25 million. Not disappointed there, on the floor and in the physio room too much.

Supposedly we allowed him to live in Manchester for the last 5 months

Ipswich have done well there, reckon they would have accepted Bolton's £500k if there was no other interest.

Was desperate for a move back up north, agent whored him to us and Blackburn too.

Fair enough but either way, It’s still a long way away from Ipswich!

I’m stunned by the fee if I’m honest! We paid less than a million for Garner and Waghorn together, and we sell them for £6m to potentially £8.5 million!

I think we've panicked with this one personally. Young chairman with the Dan Burn money 'burning' a hole in his pocket. Plus a golden opportunity to get one over on Bolton. But at the same time he's an upgrade on Vaughan and possibly even Grigg as well, both very similar strikers. Time will tell but in Cook we trust!
