Doubt Hogan will go. While he’s had a bad time there so far, he is at least playing under a manager now who knows how to get the best out of him.

More likely Kodija goes given the rumours.

Plus Hogan’s wage demands will be too high for most Championship clubs.

Do think he’d be a cracking signing for Bristol though if they could pull it off.

Bristol City please Magpie....

Tell you how fucked it is, Judge was a "£10m" player (not my value but nowadays) and he's joined the club that ruined him for next to nowt

We were quoted £2m in Summer for Kieffer Moore, I’d imagine that’s at least doubled given his record this season.

Kieffer Moore looked decent down here last time we played Barnsley to be fair, would rather him to Clarke.. he isn't better than diedhiou though so can't see us spending much on someone that's likely to be on the bench.

like Hogan too, clearly got ability but his confidence is a bit shot at the moment so would probably be a gamble in this window.. wouldn't mind going for him in the summer if his wages aren't to much which they probably would be..

£4m according to the BP, bit steep but could probably haggle it down.

Won’t be any haggling and if £4mil is true you’re welcome to him. He won’t be first choice when we’re back here next season anyway.
Bradshaw went for £1m, Potts went for £1.5m ish? Talk’s cheap, small clubs like yourselves get giddy when 7 figure offers come in.

Bradshaw was in the final year of his contract and Potts had a release clause in his contract. You’re as much a know nothing now as you’ve always been.

I’ve seen all 16 of Moore’s goals this season, most of em in person (forget your false impressions) and I’m telling you he doesn’t score at least half of them in the championship. Don’t want to lose him as he’s important to our promotion push but £4mil is way more than he’s worth and if you want him that’s what you’re paying at the very least.

Sizeable chomp. Have some breakfast mate, you’re rather peckish.

We’re being linked to Che Adams.... Never really been impressed by him when Birmingham are on the TV, but checked his goal return and it’s surprisingly okay this season..... :dk:

Finally started showing this season why he's so highly rated by the looks of things after being the definition of average for a while.

Would be a good signing for you imo, he's still only 22 and don't Hassenhuttl's teams rely on pace up front?

Didn't know about Potts' release clause, we're sneaky fuckers.

Looks the business so far.

Bet Carlisle and the lashers are enjoying seeing him do well for us.

Hogan is reportedly on £35K a week. We won't pay anywhere near that.
Good player though, particularly in his Brentford days. I remember him absolutely tearing us to pieces at the Gate a few years ago.

Yep and pace is something we lack massively at the moment.

Few rumours down this end that there are a number of Championship clubs after Charlie Austin but only Villa get named, we're keen to get rid too.

Hogan is a classic example of Villa ruining the market for most other clubs in the league. Over half the clubs in the league would take him tomorrow if he was surplus at Villa. Only it’s impossible for anyone to sign him due to his wages. Now a proven striker in the league is rotting his career away. Shame really.

Oh and we’re signing Danny Fox for 300k and still trying to flog Grigg. Rumour also going round that Cook isn’t happy at false promises and wants more money to piss away on rubbish than he’s getting.

Players like Jacob Butterfield at Derby too, would be a good player for anyone in the bottom half but nobody could match what he's on there bar Wednesday or Stoke.

Agree. We'd easily take Hogan back in a heartbeat if he was available at a low enough wage.

But then if clubs like Villa were sensible with how they spent their cash, we'd have no chance of ever competing in this league. It's of some benefit to us that they spend it all on players they don't even need.

Is Butterfield really that good? Scores the odd belter but his all round game is pretty average, Derby signing him and Bradley Johnson for a combined £10m in one day is still mind blowing.

Cracking signing Fox is for that price, can fill in at left back as well and can't be any worse than that player you signed from Pompey judging by your highlights most weeks.

Semenyo's gone to Chelsea according to our local rag. Was supposed to be United at the start of the month but can understand why it'd be Chelsea given they have something over us with us wanting to sign on Kalas, Palmer and JDS presumably.

Was really good in his first year which a lot of our fans seem to have forgotten. Still a player in there, just a mixture of us using him wrongly and him being a bit half arsed at times.
Him and Johnson will more than likely be released on freebies come May which is terrible business financially. Anya too, 4 mill and he's sat on a wedge not getting anywhere near the the first team.

We're more than happy to subsidise wages for any of them with the sound of it, Butterfield had signed for Hull in August but missed the transfer deadline by minutes due to late paperwork.
Millwall won't be paying all of Pearce's wages, as Luton won't with Thorne's. It's just the likes of Butterfield, Johnson and Anya's subsidised wages still take the piss for most in this division.

On paper he’s a good signing but in reality I see 300k for 32 year old looking for a final payday whose legs have gone. Smacks of us signing Jake Buxton two years ago. He’ll probably be better than Naismith but we need an actual LB not someone who can just fill in there.

Jacob Butterfield is more concerned with combing his hair and where his next pint is coming from than putting in the graft on the training field.

Classy player for Huddersfield and like Luke says, he started off well at Derby.

Asset in the right team.

Comes across that way, miserable as fuck too. Showed he was decent at yours, Udders and here though if someone can get him playing.

Frank reckons he's training well with the kids but why wouldn't he say that when we're trying to flog him. Interesting few days ahead for us to try and get rid of some deadwood. I reckon there will be a few leave late on, Butterfield probably being one of them.
