I consider eleven to next season.

De Gea
Dalot Jones Bailly Williams
Pogba
Diallo Jorginho/Van De Beek
Fernandes
Cavani Rashford

Bench nuts:

Woolston
Aarons
Tuanzebe
Mengi
Telles
Matic
Fred
Pellistri
James
Martial

21 players as successful 1950s and 1960s in the Reds how can were 22 players in squad max players in squad.

Van De Beek perhaps to stay and play left-winger in 4-4-2 and no Chelsea midfielder Jorginho and Pogba to play box-to-box and super midfield defensively players are wrose part in squad only Chelsea and Liverpool and Arsenal and Aston Villa have more capacity in defence in premier league than my prediction's and keeper are one world class and one young talented from U23 two keeper only and attacker's are world class in premier league.

Think we'll be making the Evans & Cunningham loan deals permanent until the end of the season. Free transfers.

Supposedly allowed after the deadline because they're out of contract at the end of the season. Means we will only have 5 loan players, rather than 7.

Drmic has gone on loan to Croatian club HNK Rijeka for the rest of the season, no doubt just to get him out the building playing football so we can actually sell him in the summer (as he clearly has no future here).

Strange move - the same club that we signed Sluga from a couple of years ago.

Strange comment from Nathan Jones about Adebayo, saying that his price would have doubled if he had waited until the summer to sign him - but he would have been out of contract in the summer!

And don't get me started on the refusal of the club to announce the length of Adebayo's, or Naismith's, or anyone's contracts.

Made sense to me, he’s talking wages and signing on fee not necessarily transfer fee. Was between us and Huddersfield this window, in the summer any number of clubs would be offering him contracts off the back of knocking some goals in in league 2 and if it cones down to who can offer the best wage you can bet we wouldn’t be up there!

Also tribunal as mentioned.

Not a new player signing but will impact this thread eventually but seems we are the latest club to more overtly embrace data and analytics in recruitment as we’ve announced a new recruitment structure, including the guy behind the blades analytics Twitter account which has quite the following. Also a recruitment guy whose been at Norwich, Brighton, Peterborough and a few other places.

Needed as we won’t become a established club at this level on our budget without being a bit smarter with our recruitment.

Probably pays to be unconventional and radical in this day and age. The days of having a Ricky Hill coming through the academy and playing 500 games are long gone.

I actually think having an academy at all is becoming less and less relevant and sustainable. It costs around £2m a year to run a top 20 (cat 1) academy these days. Luton to run a Cat 3 academy still costs about £500k of which a big proportion is funded by the EFL.

I would strongly suggest that Luton go down the Brentford way and having the academy work alongside it. To a point, I think they've already started doing that with the signings of Pereira, Addy and Chambers back in the summer. Finding players aged 18-21 who have been rejected by their previous clubs, give them at least a couple of years to see what they can do and try and trade with them.

That’s a good get I’d suggest as Barnsley have been very good with there recruitment of late. Can see us competing for the similar sort of player in the summer which could end up being an issue for us!

James Collins linked with Preston today. Out of contract at the end of the season so would be a freebie.

Being mentioned on Twitter so usual caveats apply,

Collins has indeed been offered a new contract by Luton, but Jones had admitted there are a lot of restrictions in place, naturally as there have been no fans coming through the turnstiles apart from 3000 for 17 months come the new season. I really don't understand how other clubs are doing it at the moment.

Hopefully the Max Aarons transfer will go through and the sell on clause will prove to be a really nice bonus.

I might be talking absolute rubbish, but it did cross my mind that Collins might be stalling on signing a new contract, and Jones is responding by putting him on the bench. It would give Jones a chance to decide whether Adebayo is up to being number one striker if Collins does go, or if the cheque book needs to be opened.

Like I said, probably nonsense and Collins is really on the bench because he is out of his depth at this level.

Collins is really struggling at the moment to be honest - his goal for Eire being the first this calendar year; I think he needs the summer to come and start again afresh. I don’t think there’s more to it than that.

If someone isn’t going to sign a new deal or be offered one, they probably should be put on gardening leave even before the end of the season.

Rumour mill this week has churned out.

Owen Dale (Crewe), Cameron Brannagan (Oxford) and Will Boyle (Cheltenham).

Exactly the sort of player I expect us to be looking at going off comments from Gary Sweet and the changes in the recruitment team of late.

I can see us going for the same types of player as Preston, Peterborough, Barnsley if they don’t go up.

Could see us missing out on a few as a result as I’d have thought all of those will be in a better position in terms of paying fees etc.

Some musings...

Oxford want £3-5m for Cameron Brannagan... LOL.

Luton and a host of other Championship clubs want Carlos Mendes Gomes who will have a 1 year extension activated by Morecambe. Huddersfield are no longer interested... remember the last striker they turned down.

Sheffield Wednesday want Jordan Jones from Rangers, currently on loan at Sunderland.

A handful of clubs clearly want to try and sign Charlie Wyke. I can't imagine how much Sunderland will want for him, promotion or not.

Ha, supposedly, Ben Whiteman wasn't moving for less than that according to Doncaster journalists....

Ryan Ledson was supposedly valued for a couple of million too... We got him for about £500k.

Unless you're a Peterborough striker, you ain't going for £5m from that division. Especially not now.

If they don't get promoted, a fair deal for him would be £1-1.5m. Would Oxford really turn that down?

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall... I'm intrigued as to what Leicester's plans are for him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in this division next season, but I can see him going to a club like Cardiff, Forest or Stoke who can pay his wages in full and offer a huge loan fee. I would trade James Justin's sell on fee to keep him permanently, but that is extremely unlikely to happen.

Brannagan has been out with a serious and rare eye issue for a large portion of the season too so 3-5 million does seem very ambitious, but they do have a pretty decently wealthy owner iirc.

I actually think he will stay at Oxford as a result unless someone really wants to take a risk. I think January next year he might move.

We have the same issue with another Leicester loanee, Daniel Iversen.

Best keeper we've had since Pickford.
