Yeah i winced when i saw that Oaky. Gives us a chance to give him some stick at another club we dont like much. But i liked the look of their team pre season and him and Austin could be trouble if they get the supply lines right and can keep them on the pitch/out of jail

QPR are in really good shape, Dykes is a good option too. Big fan of Ilyas Chair.

Ive seen Dykes in a dozen games or so (admittedly 3 for Scotland at Euros versus Intls) and im yet to be impressed.

Good disruptor in the Jordan Hugill mould, Charlie Austin has benefitted from him.

Very good in the air. 12 league goals last season, 3 in 3 this year.

That Club statement on Kioso makes it sound like it was his call. wtf. Tell him no, buckle down, youre staying, in our plans but you need to fight for your starting place.
He won’t have a long career if he can’t take being subbed. Justified or not.

I really do not think its anything to do with that. He is clearly a player who isnt content with sitting around not playing, whenever he has had an opportunity to go play somewhere hes taken it, even last season he could have been on the fringes with a chance of playing here having had a good loan at Bolton but went to Northampton instead to play regularly. Hes probably had a conversation with Jones and they have agreed its best for him and his career to go out on loan because he is going to be a rotational player here nothing more to it. We would have liked him to stay to provide that competition but if he feels he can become a better player by playing more power to him for taking ownership of his development. Lets hope it works out.

Think a lot of the stuff about the Kioso move has been massively embarrassing really. I see the supporters club have put out a statement about their displeasure about the club loaning a player to MK which just seems extremely petty and ridiculous.

It wasnt everyone associated with them and mostly one man so long ago i forgot the details but just temember they shouldn't exist. End of.

Yes I did live through that. They do now exist though and that’s not changing, the people involved are almost totally different and to ask the club to not do business with one of the other 92 over a grudge from well over a decade ago is not good business sense. Had no issue last year when we had Nombe on loan from them I notice either.

Ali McCann will cost £1.75m if all the add-ons are met, the more I read, the more it sounds like we've got one of the bargains of the summer.

Will try and catch a couple of the Northern Ireland games during the break.

Everton & West Ham still keeping tabs on Lewis Leigh despite his new contract supposedly.

Connor Wickham still here, probably let him get another reserve game under his belt before committing to a deal.

Signed Connor Wickham on a 4 month deal (13th Jan).

Sensible but knowing our luck, he'll start banging them in during December and move to another Championship club when his contract is up.

Jordan Storey extends till 2025, I still don't trust him at all in a back four where he has added responsibility but he's been fine in this back three alongside an organiser in Bauer. Sensible to extend, although I'll never be a massive fan unless there is a drastic improvement. Definitely wouldn't be at this level if he didn't have decent pace.

Brad Potts extends to 2024 as well, wouldn't have been bothered if we moved him on to be honest, too inconsistent.

Should be offloading the fringe players and replacing with better.

Apparently going to be signing a lad called Elliott Thorpe on a free. Rejected a new contract at Tottenham in the summer seeking some first team football. Since then he’s been of interest to Cardiff apparently amongst others but Spurs have been disputing his situation which has only just been resolved apparently. Is a midfield player and with us clearly missing something there I would guess he sees a clearer path to first team football here perhaps and hence coming here over “bigger” more lucrative contracts perhaps

Going to have to be a very decent player to jump from under 23 to a championship midfield it must be said though. Even KDH had had a loan before coming here. Respect the ambition though, easy to sit there on your contract at Spurs, but seems to want to play.

Thorpe now signed. Genuinely no idea as to if he’ll impact things but we certainly need something in that area so there’s an opportunity for him.

The below is a description of him from a Spurs blog that follows there youth prospects and sounds very similar to a certain midfield player we saw last season. Let’s hope!

“A highly skilful and forward thinking midfield player with great close control and an eye for a forward pass.”
“Not just a player with silky skills and flair about his game (he loves to take on players for skill and often glides past them),is also an industrious and incredibly hardworking midfield player, who loves to get stuck in and press opposition players”

Very typical signing. We seem to do reasonbly well with our scouting so lets keep fingers crossed and yet again smart business low risk as he doesnt seem a huge financial gamble.

Our injuries def an issue and i hope, and guess we have, looked into it. Another unamed one went down in training this week.

I dont belive there is a thing called luck, good or bad. Its just a label we put on variance and happenstance, but more often than not there are contributing factors that sway the outcome. In this case multiple injuries we never sustained before. Is something negative contributing to this run at Luton?

Our new additions this year haha

Olosunde - Yet to play a minute, supposedly injured again
Brown - 0 league minutes, will probably miss the entire season
Wickham - 25 league minutes, having a hamstring operation, out of contract in Jan
Murphy - 70 league minutes, supposedly out for 3 weeks now
McCann - 114 league minutes, back from injury now
Thomas - 0 league minutes, doubt he'll ever even play in a cup game

People get paid for this recruitment.

I do feel for Connor Wickham, We’ve had him on loan 3 times. The first one he didn’t score many but you could see he had the potential to go to the top. In his second he was ridiculous, as good as any striker I’ve seen at Champ level but when he came back for the third time he looked fucked and overweight. I wouldn’t have even took him back in L1 after that.

The fact the retards running this club thought they could keep him fit, when a Premier League outfit with top class fitness and conditioning staff and facilities couldn't, speaks volumes of the mindset at PNE. We were just happy with someone who would accept £4k a week and might be ok.

Rather we signed a young, National League target man with an acceptable fitness record.

Not sure where the sympathy is coming from??

Classic Ipswich academy product who left for the money early doors and then bench warmed and loaned during the years he should have been improving. No bitterness, just another victim of retarded agents I imagine. Wasted talent, imagine he's full of regret.

Didn’t you bring in a new recruitment team just before the summer? I guess that hasn’t worked out yet

I’d be sympathetic to any player who’s career had been blighted by injuries so badly. Does sound like you are slightly bitter, but as you say, agents badly advising kids who don’t know whether they’re coming or going is the cause. Probably parents who are seeing the £££ too.

Bitter about selling him at 18 years of age for £8m rising to £12m?

He's just another example of a player who never kicked on and fulfilled his talent.

Interested in John Souttar at Hearts, centre back who scored his first goal for Scotland the other week. Celtic & Rangers interested but he'd prefer an English move.

Out of contract in the summer I think.
