Great to hear from you mate, you and Oakroader were stalwarts from non league. Its fair to say you have prospered in the Championship and good luck to you. Steve McNulty, its like yesterday that Fleetwood signed him, I think from Barrow for £17500 !! He was terrific for us, went on to do great service with you and has recently become Asst Manager at Chester.
One of our first games when we got promoted to league 2 was playing your lads at home and I believe the score was Fleetwood 0 Luton 3 -How good or bad us my memory ? Mind you we did manage a win down at Kenilworth Road

Anyway BelizeHatter to you and good old Oakroader Happy New Year, you should be ok against Harrogate Town tomorrow, just hope we are not playing them next year
Backatcha…my jack tar mucker…

Supposedly first in the queue if Villa allow Cameron Archer to go out on loan.

Apparently in for Elliot Anderson from Newcastle. Not really too sure on his position but supposedly we have been after him for a year now. Assume it’s a loan.

PNE shit...

Jake Bidwell is supposedly available and were interested, long term target who chose Swansea over us a few years back. Good full back at this level, would be an upgrade on Earl.

Less if a risk than someone like Iredale but will be on good money.

Connor Wickham has left the club, we'd be mad to waste time on him again.

Bambo Diaby has impressed Ryan Lowe, he'll definitely get a deal it seems.

Rumours were recalling Tom Bayliss from Wigan, I don't see how he gets any minutes here so maybe looking at another loan move were he will get more playing time.

Seems Bidwell is going to Coventry, disappointing if our interest was serious but can't see us signing anyone until there is an outgoing.

Patrick Bauer has extended till 2024. Good news, was worried he might sign a pre-contract abroad.

Expected to offer Bambo Diaby a deal after training with us for two months, with Jordan Storey going out on loan to the league below.

We just recalled Kioso from his loan at MK Dons. Hoping this doesn’t mean the injury to Burke is serious because he has been very good lately. I guess it could be entirely unrelated and just allowing Bree to be rotated a bit more.

Something definitely weird going on with Kioso though, thought Jones comments on him a week or so back were a bit dismissive of him as a player and Kioso himself seemed to insinuate he prefers being at MK than here. We will see, maybe we are just looking to flush out offers for him.

It definitely seems like it's injury related, I believe we've actually put a bid in for him that got rejected, same with Robson at Blackpool.

My only hope is that no extension clauses get triggered making it slightly easier for us to get both of them back in the summer at the latest.

I see it’s a widespread belief that he might come back in the summer to you lot. Only thing I’d say is I wouldn’t pay very much attention to any rumours about his contract up in the summer and therefore you can get him at a cheaper price now. It very well might be up but no one actually knows that as we seem to be the only club in the country that does not publish that information when players sign or sign new contracts.

If you look at sites like transfermarkt which tries to publish such Information all the players for us are out of contract in the summer. It’s caused some right silliness with rumours like Adebayo, who is probably our best and most saleable player, only having 6 months left and therefore having Newcastle etc sniffing around

Adam O'Reilly loaned to St Pat's till the end of July.

More rumours at the Villa end that we've won the race to loan Cameron Archer, they all seem to think very highly of him.

A few appearances off the bench in the league this season, hat trick against Barrow in the Cup, and supposedly played very well and scored against Chelsea in the cup too.

Hoping more Callum Robinson & Daniel Johnson than Andre Green...

Interested to see where Tom Lawrence ends up, he could really be the difference for a play-off chasing side like QPR, Boro, Stoke, etc.

Prob sees an end to the Derby fightback too
Definitely, already lost their experienced head in midfield.

I could see Burnley coming in for Lawrence too.

Connor Wickham’s come in until the end of the season. If he can stay fit that’s a very decent deal.

Edit: didn’t realise this wasn’t league one but as he was at Preston it’s probably still relevant… how was he when he actually played?

Luton really need to sign some backup to Elijhah. Yesterday proved there is a lack of quality apart from him up top.

Of course there are probably 18 other clubs in the same position all vying for the same players.

Ha, is this a serious question?

He managed 25 minutes off the bench, then put himself out for three months 7 minutes into his only start.

The guy needs to retire.

It would be nice but Adebayo is such a big player for us that any "Plan B" type option is going to represent a fairly sizeable drop off I think and anyone good enough to step in and match his quality is probably out of our price range and could be justifiably asking for a starting place somewhere else. Think we were probably hoping for a little more from Muskwe/CMG to take the attacking load off when Adebayo needed a rest but they are still clearly a bit too raw.

Maybe we can find a younger player who is happy to back him up and play a smaller role for 6 months before we inevitably sell Adebayo in the summer. Just throwing a name out with no further context but I see Ipswich just recalled a Tyreece Simpson from Swindon who has a similar goal record to what Adebayo had for Walsall last season and a fairly similar play style. Probably just as raw as our other options though so its a tricky one -as has been replacing KDH when you have such a preeminent player its very difficult to fill the gap when they arent there.

Very quiet here.

Looks like we won't rush into a decision on Diaby, who we can sign after the deadline.

Left Wing backs have been the top links but nothing massively concrete.

Had a good look at Iredale at Cambridge but supposedly cooled our interest, although that came from Alan Nixon...

Linked to Tom Pearce at Wigan but he got injured and looks to be signing a new deal there.

Also one of the clubs linked to Northampton's Ali Koiki but he's meant to be in talks with Sunderland.

I reckon if we sign one then it might be one out of left field.

very quiet here. Only one rumour all window about the kid from Newcastle but that was quickly rubbished and hasnt come to fruition some weeks down the line now.

Argument to be made that we need a forward to take the load off Adebayo but I doubt we will find one that meets the requirement of a) being affordable and b) being a suitable enough to actually fill in for Adebayo to bridge the quality gap between other options like Muskwe etc

I’ve thought we were a midfielder short since the summer but think the need for that has cooled a bit

+1 to this, 100%.

Gotta feel for the lad but he's stealing a living and has been for years. He's crocked.

Sounds very much like Sluga is going off before the window is closed, so guess a new Keeper will be needed.

Also seems like another player is in the pipeline and was implied by NJ that if that were to happen then Kioso will be allowed to go back to MK. Which implies it’s a fullback if some kind.

Where's Sluga rumoured to go? Not fussed if we get our money back Shea a better option all around by quite a long way for me

Ludogrets in Bulgaria.

I agree, see a few are saying it’s a big blow but for me he has never lived up to what you would expect from a 1 million+ keeper and record signing. Could have got equal performance for half of what he cost. No Ill will from me but will always be a head scratcher for me how an otherwise eminently sensible recruitment team spent quite a chunk of change on a pretty average keeper imo

I am still a bit gutted that he is leaving - he in my opinion is one of the best keepers Luton Town have had in its modern history. I would still expect to receive at least £500K considering he's going to a Champions League team.

I expect that Peter Kioso will also go back to the Franchise and Elliot Anderson from Newcastle + Alex Palmer on loan from WBA + maybe AN Other will come in. We need backup for Elijah.

I think that’s a bit much. There’s a genuine argument that Shea is at least his equal.

Way way too many errors for that and really bad ones at that. Half of his first season here the defence were petrified of him. I know some take a dim view, but any stat you look at he’s a slightly below average championship keeper. He is/was ok but when you factor in the price it becomes a bit disappointing for me.

He completely underwhelmed me and gave me the collywobbles every time he had the ball at his feet. He doesnt command his box and considering his size rarely comes for a cross.

That said he was reasonable this season with less mistakes and id say has helped improve Shea who ive been impressed with the way he took his demotion and kicked on. His weakness is/was kicking from the hand or a long pass with his speciality finding touch, but it has dramatically improved in this spell. Today was excellent considering the wind altho he did slip over a few too many times so orob had the wrong studs.
