Cards on the table, I feel like he started that badly here that any save or improvement he made was welcomed as if it were Buffonesque just to try and give him a Pat on the back and to try and basically convince ourselves we didn’t totally waste our money. After that first half of his first season he turned out fine but nothing more exceptional than that. The key question for me is could we have got similar or better performance for less outlay and I think the answer to that question is unequivocally yes

Kesler Hayden, another Villa loanee has been mentioned.

Ryan Giles available on loan from Wolves, i'd take him.

Woodman from Newcastle (previously been on loan at Swansea) and Alex Palmer at WBA loan keepers being thrown around for if/when Sluga departs tomorrow.

Woodman seems a bit out of our reach I think as he’s very highly rated and I’d bet some of the promotion contenders will take a look if he’s available.

Also seems like Elliott Anderson from Newcastle is going to be revived.

I’d love us to take at Giles if he is available from Wolves. We would have an unbelievable attacking fullback pairing with him and Bree on the other side. Probably concede a ton but would be a fun watch and be close to replicating what JJ/Stacey were.

Seems we have rejected a loan bid from Cardiff for Sean Maguire, weird move by them.

Hopefully they come back with a permanent bid for him, they can have that crock, Josh Murphy back too.

Blackburn have enquired about Ryan Giles supposedly.

Bournemouth apparently signing five today.

Joe Rothwell £3m, Siriki Dembele £3m, Keiffer Moore £3.5m, Todd Cantwell loan, Freddie Woodman loan.

Good job FFP is ensuring this league remains fair.

What’s the purpose of signing Rothwell and Cantwell on loan. They both play the same position and they have loads of other players who play that way too. Can only imagine they want Rothwell just so Blackburn don’t

Do they even need half of these players?

Moore at £3.5M is a snip at what he was being offered for in the summer.

Looks like Palmer from WBA is a no go so now moved on to Jed Steer from Villa. Looks like we are entering into the loan keeper cycle again at least until the summer

Also seems like another player is in the pipeline and was implied by NJ that if that were to happen then Kioso will be allowed to go back to MK. Which implies it’s a fullback if some kind.
We've moved on from Kioso now so he'll be with you for the rest of the season.

Posh local rag has alluded that it was more like £4M for Dembele.

I'd have said that was probably bollocks considering his contract is up at the end of the season, but I could also see Barry Fry rinsing Bournemouth for an extra mill with relative ease.

I know they got big money for Danjuma, but without parachute money the rest of us can't just spend whatever cash we get from player sales, it has to be used to cover other expenses.

Absolute bollocks system, I doubt there is a more unfair league in the world than this one in terms of providing relegated teams with the best platform to bounce back.

Bournemouth's wage bill will be insane on 9,800 gates.

Bournemouth have done this ever since they were docked points in League 2 for being a mess. Took the hit and made sure they didn't go down and then were spending way beyond their means the next season. They've gambled on going up plenty of times and it's paid off but it'll come back round and bite them on the arse again at some point.

Apparently the Dembele signing isn't done and dusted. People on our forum are saying Blackburn are making a late move for him now. Works for us that, we'll have a deadline day bidding war!

They're trying to sign Nat Phillips on loan as well. To be fair, if it keeps Blackburn down I'm all for it!

Still holding out some hope we will end up with another LWB option but it sounds like we won't be looking at Plan C or D targets, and would rather wait till the summer if our first choices aren't available.

There will be a big player turnover this summer.

Which would make it even funnier if they don’t go up. If Blackburn can keep going - and they could as Bradley Dack is back soon, then the play offs are a lottery if they miss out on top 2.
How the fuck they are allowed to sign all these players heaven knows.
Reeks of Pompey under redknapp. Signing players they could not afford.

QPR getting top two and West Brom/ Boro winning the play-offs would be my preference!

Wouldn't be surprised if Dack is finished at this level after his injuries, he didn't look very good before this last long-term injury.

QPR do look very good at the moment so you might be on the money there.

Sluga officially gone then. Assume we will be announcing a new keeper at some point this evening - Jed Steer the last name to be mentioned

Steer signed officially and Glen Rea gone out on loan to Wigan. Good move for him to a top League 1 side. Not really hit the heights since signing his contract post us escaping relegation. He was a big, big part of that but last year was quite poor by his standards and his lack of technique got exposed a fair bit. Been a bit part player this year and to be fair to him when played i think he has done pretty well (the game against Bristol City probably less so though) but i think we have moved on a bit in terms of what we are looking for from a midfield player now and hes just not athletic enough.

Wish him well, was a part of some great sides.

Agree. Dissapointed for Rea. I really thought wed build a team around him as the pivot and he just seemed to stall.

Dembele has joined Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee. Moore has also raised a transfer request to go to the same destination.

Kieffer Moore to Bournemouth confirmed for a deal up to £5M. They’ve also signed Nat Phillips and Freddie Woodman as well as Dembele mentioned above. They are also in for Todd Cantwell.

Signed Amine “Shirley” Bassi from Metz on loan til end of season. Looks a decent player but no one is saving our season from here.

Anderson eventually joined Bristol rovers I assume we weren’t giving assurances on game time. Would expect one to come in at least given Rea left. As mentioned I’ve felt we were a midfielder short all season so to lose one and not replace would be slightly strange. Where linked with Luke Freeman from Sheffield United earlier in the day.

I can’t believe that Luton won’t sign someone by letting Rea go.

I see Hull signed Marcus Forss from Brentford. Rate him as a very good striker, thought WBA have a look there after losing Dike but went with Carroll instead

Seems like we will. We’ve signed players very late and announced after the window has closed before, like Adebayo last year but was always plenty of chatter about it and the usual group on Twitter talking about it. Nothing of that sort tonight though.

It’s a bit strange but don’t think we were desperate for anything. Arguments for a new midfield player or a striker but if they aren’t going to impact the first 11 its probably not worth it for us. Feel like we’ve already got enough “squad” players for backup/rotation needs
