Ben Woodburn on trial, I'm hoping it's purely a favour for fitness, as Marsh knows him from Liverpool and his agent is David Eyres.

The Championship seems way above him.
Wasn't he Liverpool's youngster ever scorer too?

Quite a few young players from there have had a lot of hype but not done much in their careers.

Mainly wingers - Ibe/Sinclair/Woodburn.

Guess it's the same at most clubs though - 2/3 make it but the majority don't.

Dai Cornell confirmed on a free from Posh.

That's the keepers boxed off. Woodman, Cornell & Pradic.

On to the rest of the team.

Josh Earl joins Fleetwood on a free, I was fucking sick of watching him last season and obviously Ryan Lowe was too.

Looks like Sean Maguire has asked to leave too, what a glorious day.

Gideon Mensah from RB Salzburg is the latest rumour. Was on loan at Bordeaux last season.

Ghana international, 24 next month, plays left wing back. Seems a work permit wouldn't be an issue.

I like the sound of this one.

Jones first media stuff today since the end of the season I think. Probably as ever reading too much into what he says (always dangerous but especially so with NJ I find) and he was pretty clear Adebayo would be here now with no bids likely to meet our valuation. Also hinted at maybe another striker I thought? As he kept saying about getting Elijah “some help”. Not sure if that just means Woodrow to take some of the load off him or another forward is likely to come in. Given we just moved Hylton on and Woodrow somewhat different sort of player I think thought it might hint at something coming there

Our first transfer rumour not related to some bollocks transfer account on twitter has dropped and it's probably the most left-field one you can ever imagine.

Apparently close to signing Mahmoud Gad, third-choice keeper for Egypt. Plays for a mid-table side in the Egyptian top flight and is supposed to be very highly rated over there. No idea on whether he'd get a work permit though, as he's been called up to the national team squad but hasn't yet been capped.

I doubt he would qualify, even before these new rules post Brexit

He said he was imminently going to bring in a new GK, plus he wants another defender, two midfielders and an attacking player.

That would be seven signings in total which is still a fair amount of turnover.

If we’re going to improve again up top, I’m already liking our forward players already with Woodrow alongside Adebayo, Cornick and Jerome. And then you have Onyedinma and Muskwe to supplement that on the wings.

I suppose that means Snodgrass isn’t going to re-sign. I don’t think that’s a terrible thing. Disappointing yes, but with him and Hylton moving on, it allows us a bit more room to manoeuvre.

We would still need to send some players out to get down to the 25 man squad. Muskwe / Potts?

I see Neil Etheridge could be available from Brum - he has a clause in his contract which enables an extension if he plays a certain number of games. He’d be a good one to fill out GK gap.

I also see that WBA are officially “going for it” - they’re also in for Tom Lawrence now.

Could see Potts perhaps but I’d be a little surprised purely for the fact he can play the left sided centre half role that we just lost with Naismith.

Muskwe in my view was really poor last season but think we will persevere with that as we will Mendes Gomes.

Think far more likely to get Thorpe, Pereira, not sure if Neufville will count towards the 25 man squad but probably him too. Could see one of the ones we are targeting being under 21 and therefore not having to be included as well.

With 20 players in the matchday squad, a 25 man squad isn't that big any more.

Apparently we are signing Louie Watson, 21 year old midfield player on a free after he left Derby.

Don’t know much about him and seems he hasn’t played that many games for them mainly playing in the PL2 under 23 league

Give the recruitment team the benefit on it but given Jones comments about wanting players to impact the first 11 and add quality, not sure that’s what I was expecting.

get the impression that he feels we peaked last season...
looking to get young blood in to tread water for the short term..
i don't see us reaching the heady heights of the play offs again for a while yet...
still..a safe season ahead will be acceptable by most...consolidation is the name of the game...

Absolutely amazed that Lowe is 'content' with our centre back options. Replacing Van Den Berg with Jordan Storey is a fucking disgrace.

Watson confirmed. Paid a fee I assume as he’s 21 it’s compensation of some kind as he’s actually out of contract.

Thoughts remain as above, not quite what I expected when Jones was talking about improving the first 11 and adding quality but always good to get a youthful player in.

Adam O'Reilly is supposedly wanted by Como, who are managed by Marc Bircham. He's currently on loan at St Pat's, and they signed another player from the Irish league this month.

Shame he's always had loads of competition in front of him, he's always seemed to have good potential.

He definitely needs to leave, he's never been given a chance.

Ethan Horvath is the other keeper we are getting apparently. Backup keeper to Samba at Forest last season.

There’s going to be 9 players in the matchday squad. We do need to have players who are going to develop. He did want a couple of midfielders - I suppose it depends if Snodgrass is going to re-sign or not.

USA international likely to go to the World Cup. Very serviceable replacement for Sluga from what I see and read.

Looks like Luton are now in for Jack Rudoni from AFC Wimbledon.

Sunderland and Huddersfield have had bids of £500K+add ons knocked back already.

I really wanted us to be in for him, in my view the exact sort of player we should be looking at just whether finances allow it as when you see the other clubs in for him it looks a bit daunting from that standpoint. Goals from midfield in a side that was struggling shows something.

I’d be surprised but delighted to get him, thought the second midfield player would be Wright from Leicester given his strong loan spell in League 1 last season and the “Leicester/KDH connection”

Wasn't overly impressed with him in all honesty. He would be a perfectly serviceable striker for a player looking for a play off spot, but thought Watford would have deeper pockets to go out and buy someone better.
