Derby, Huddersfield and Luton are in for Conor Hourihane after his release from Aston Villa.

Good player - was on loan at Sheffield Utd last year; we were in for him last summer too. I'd be amazed if the first team on that list were able to afford him (or anywhere near).

Suspect we will end up signing one of Rudoni, Hourihane or Freeman in that left sided role, if Snodgrass turns his contract down which I suspect he will do as he isn't in Slovenia.

Wouldn't mind us taking a look at Bielik from Derby too.

ITKs at Cambridge suggesting us and Rotherham are interested in Sam Smith. Regarding the Egyptian keeper, the latest rumour is we've made a bid and are planning to loan him out to a European club for a year if he can't get a permit. Seems like everything is perfectly in order there.....

One of three clubs who want Tayo Adaramola on loan from Crystal Palace supposedly. 18 year old LWB, Irish U21.

I’d guess that means that means we are out for Hourihane and Rudoni who had been mooted as possible options for that midfield spot.
A bit of a shame as I think we could do with another up and coming younger player there with some potential for growth and big resale value. But I guess Watson who was signed last week is seen as that.

Still need to replace Kal Naismith in that defensive role, but we've done some solid business up until now.

Doughty, Woodrow, Macey, Watson, Freeman, Horvath all signed in the last 2 weeks.

Some journalist from the telegraph linking us with a £2 million move for Carlton Morris from Barnsley.

That would be a bit crazy and would smash our transfer record

Bloody hell. Interesting indeed. Are we really going to throw down £2M… I suppose he’s around 1 in 3 at this level. We’d have a very potent attack this season.

Ben Woodburn signs on a one year deal, with the option to a second year.

Robbie Brady signs a one year deal.

I can live with Woodburn as a cheap gamble as he's young, but I'd be amazed if we got 10 starts out of Brady.

Even though we signed Freeman for the midfield spot and are apparently signing Morris for circa 2 million, we are still being linked with Rudoni and today Eliot Anderson, the latter having been linked off and on with us for about 2 seasons now.

We won’t get all of those players but clearly more money about than most thought and we are being aggressive in the market this summer. Surely going to be some outgoings soon you’d have thought too.

Supposedly Cyrus Christie is still on the cards, and we want to bring Callum Robinson back on loan.

Ben Davies linked to Celtic for £4m from Liverpool which should net us about £800k. Although don't think a deal is close.

Think we also get another kickback if Brownhill leaves Burnley for big money, although that's a 20% of 20% type situation.

We have just confirmed that we have signed Carlton Morris. Bit stunned at that as reported figures are 2million which is not really like us!

He was a proper handful when we played Barnsley and looked in a few games I’ve seen on tv of him so no issues on him as a player necessarily, just think if we had/have that sort of money that spending it in that part of the pitch is slightly odd if Adebayo isn’t leaving as from what I’ve seen they are quite similar and we aren’t benching Adebayo and we are surely going to get our money worth of Morris if we can.

Let’s see it works out, plenty of options in that area now to work with and the heavy burden which Adebayo had last season won’t be so great for this up coming one which is also a big positive. The board are certainly showing ambition to build on last season which is exciting.

Club have tweeted some stuff about Morris being excited to work with Adebayo so seems he is staying and his signing isn’t relating with him departing.

We have so many attacking options now, think we will be using the 5 subs to full effect and be rotating them all so we can press from the front for as long as possible.

I’m a little surprised that if we had this sort of money available we have invested it in an already strong area and not into a midfield player a marquee midfield player like Rudoni or Kasumu (who signed for Huddersfield today which I think is a good signing) as we already have a lot of attacking options and personally felt we were slightly short in midfield, but it certainly gives us attacking flexibility.

If we can plug that Naismith gap, we have a real shout of improving on last season. We are putting together a really really good squad now.

It almost feels like that summer before we scored 6s and 7s in League 2 when we landed almost every target we went in for.

Nope, looks like Christie is off, but Robinson coming home may have legs. Even if it's just a loan, it's a better signing than an ageing Andre Gray or Nakhi Wells.

Flynn Downes has signed for West Ham United from Swansea City for a fee eventually rising to £12M!

If he's worth £12M, Allan Campbell must be worth about £20M now!

Looks like Rudoni is going to be off to Huddersfield, had really hoped we would be able to get him as i think an ascending midfield player with significant first team games would have really capped off our summer recruitment but looks like we lost out and moved to Watson and Freeman as other options to fill that spot.

Bit surprised with the somewhat tumultuous manager situation at Huddersfield with them losing Corberan that they have been able to sign 2 of the better up and coming midfield players in Kasumu and Rudoni this summer. Both would have had plenty of suitors at this level this summer.

I would doubt we’d be in for Rudoni after signing Freeman - it was a lot of money for another midfielder after we’ve become pretty loaded in that area. I think we would’ve had to move a senior one on to make way, especially as we have the Naismith gap still to plug.

I think we were definitely in at one time but dropped out at some point with Freeman coming in definitely I agree.

Personally I thought we were significantly stronger in attack than midfield and if we had some money to burn I’d have gone with a midfield player, and maybe a slightly more junior attacking player on loan or even just left it as is, but we chose to spend our resources on Morris instead I think. Seems we did the opposite of what I thought we might do and have just added relatively frugally in midfield with Freeman and Watson and given the priority to the attacking area instead. Freeman and Watson probably the only 2 we have brought in this summer that i am a little suspect on as well probably adding to my feeling if ever so slight concern on the midfield area.

Not that I’m unhappy with Morris, protecting Adebayo a little bit more was important too just my opinion of it and how things played out last season where we ended up looking very light in midfield for a lot of the season and a similar workload issue appeared for Campbell. With the regular knocks and injuries Berry and Clark have picked up I did think we could have maybe invested some into a younger midfield player in the Rudoni/Kasumu type but we only have so much money to play with.

Interested to see who the defender we bring in will be. We apparently had a Slovenian centre half trialing with us whilst we have been there but been very few noises about it otherwise.

Someone called Luka Brkic I understand.

I don’t really understand how a team at our level now, even more so with the scouting networks at our disposal would need a trialist as it takes up a gap in our few friendly matches this summer.

I guess he’s probably got good “data” or whatever but it’s hard to assess due to the difference in levels and style of football being played. Therefore getting him training with players whose level and we know about provides some additional information to be able to make a decision on if it’s worth it to bring him in or not with little risk involved from a financial standpoint.

To be honest though, that trialist screams a bit of us doing a favour to someone like an agent or whoever helps us organise the yearly trip to Slovenia to me.

Definitely sounds like we're waiting for other clubs to do their business before our targets are available. It's very annoying, but then I think the likes of Blackburn and Shitpool are yet to make a single signing.

Weird summer with the season starting a month before the window shuts. The Nation's League shit probably didn't help to get things moving quickly either.

Had Aribim Pepple on trial for the Northampton game. Seems like he might be signing going off some of the usual suss Twitter accounts out there.

19 year old Forward who whilst being born here has been out in Canada and has a decent scoring record albeit from a fairly limited sample size. Forest Green were rumoured to be interested also. Doubt he will impact first team picture too much, NJ definitely made reference to a few bits of upcoming business being “about the future” and we have probably got too many forwards now!

Still wanting to bring in a defender by all accounts too

Like the look of the summer business on our size and budget - id suggest excellent business has improved us. But i suspect the League in general has too. Added to the two spots i felt needed most on left and backup/additional stiker options, over and above perhaps here but theres a massive toll on them the work Jones demands.

If we keep everyone from now to the close and that one new defender we are wanting is mobile and good on the ball and with good distribution and a range of passing we can be strong. Pivotal as it will allow us to flip back and forth in game from a back five to a four by stepping into the DM role and solidify us. We will have ticked all the boxes and amazingly could step forward again. Bravo the vision of Jones and 2020.

Would have liked a quality young midfield player to come in and personally I’d have done that over spending relatively big on another forward like Morris but I think I’m in a minority on that one. Still like how things have evolved this summer generally.

The centre half signing will be key though I think and will be an interesting one as there have been basically no links to a defensive player all summer. I’m not sure we will look so strong if we don’t get that right, I’m not really too keen going into the season with Potts as the starting LCB.
