Bristol City fans, thoughts on Kal Naismith?
Not a Bristol City fan obviously but was obviously with us not so long ago and we probably saw the best of him.

Bit of a utility man, has played in just about every outfield position in his career but found a niche for himself here as the left sided centre half in a 3 which got him a good contract at Bristol City last season which was a bit of a blow to us at the time. Shows the sort of money you must have to be looking to sign him because all the talk from when he left here 12 months ago was that he had an offer from Bristol City that was simply too good for him to turn down and a decent long term contract.

He is really kind of unique sort of player for that role due to his past career in more attacking areas, he’s comfortable on the ball and he has a great switch of play on him that when he was here we used heavily in build up to make big switches to our attacking RWB. Defensivley he had a tendency to dive in and over commit at times which in a 2 would be exploited and even in a 3 sometimes got exposed, but he was a great leader here and an intelligent player overall. If he performed like he did here he would stick out like a sore thumb in League 2 with his quality.

GK Ceiran Slicker signed from City. 3-year-deal, undisclosed fee. Will likely bring some genuine competition to Walton, with Hladky now likely to move on for me.

We're close to signing Mads Frøkjær-Jensen from OB for £1.25m. 23yr old attacking mid, seems he's one who likes to run at people which is definitely something we lack in the squad.

Supposedly close to another player too for a bigger fee. Possibly Yasser Larouci from Troyes so maybe our record transfer of £1.8m in 2001 will be broken.

Sounds like Craig Hemmings has managed to wrestle some of his dad's money out of safe.

Duane Holmes looking likely too, wouldn't be buzzing but he's versatile at least. Unfortunately, I could see him being a rotation option at LWB though.

We obviously want Cannon back on loan but I think he'll have far better options. Supposedly Luton are interested, would be outstanding business on a permanent but I'm not sure why Everton would offload him.

Freddie Woodman is one of a bunch of keepers that is 'liked' by Leeds.

George Hirst has been at Ipswich today to finalise a permanent deal. Very happy with this, he helped to transform our team in the 2nd half of last season.

Duane Holmes, two year deal. Undisclosed.

Not sure on his fitness situation but fully fit he's a handy squad player at this level. Think he's fairly versatile.

Supposedly were trying to get Tom Cannon permanently as Everton are skint and fucked in terms of FFP. Imagine the entire division will want him when they get wind.

£3m rising to £6m is the fee doing rounds. Way too low, he's absolute class.

Konrad De La Fuente from Olympiakos has been mentioned again. Hull were linked but supposedly they've denied interest. Would be an interesting one, ex-Barcelona & Marseille. US international.

We almost signed him last January but couldn't get the paperwork through in time. Apparently we've given up now because he has hardly played since then, so we moved on to new targets. One of them, Jason Lokilo is about to be announced, one time promising Palace youngster who lost his way a bit, but has just had a good season in Turkey. Him and Ruben Vinagre should be announced in next couple of days.

We want Josh Wilson-Esbrand on loan from Man City. Was on loan at Coventry last season. LWB

Sounds like our interest in Larouci is dead as Sheff Utd have been linked now.

Aaron Ramsey retuning to Cardiff

Been injured so much you wonder what impact he might have but certainly be good for them if they can keep him fit.

Heard that Jay Stansfield might be heading to Huddersfield on loan.

He was superb for us last season and most fans accepted he would get a loan up to the Championship instead of coming back for another stint here.

He didn’t score the goals his performances always deserved, but that side of his game will come. He works tirelessly, he’s quick and great with the ball at his feet. Should do well as long as Colin gives him the chances to play.

Morgan Whittaker, Finn Azaz and Terry Taylor all mentioned as likely signing for us this coming week. What is interesting is that we’ve not really been linked to anyone who has Championship experience.

Still think we need a RCB, 3 CAMs, 2 ST and at least one more CDM.

Seen a rumour linking Woodman to Leeds for £4m. Way too low unless a player is coming the other way.

Morgan Whittaker is signing for Plymouth today. I think they may surprise a few.

All quiet on the Owls front… we have got the oldest and smallest squad in the league as it stands. No real rumours flying about. All a bit depressing at the moment.

Swansea seem to be binning off a few young fringe players. FFP issues?

Panutche Camara has pulled out a loan move to you guys.

Likely destination could be Charlton now, with us looking to farm him out for minutes with possibly a view to recalling him in January.

Larouci has joined Sheff Utd on loan, always seemed a bit unrealistic that one.

Wilson-Esbrand is supposedly done but no announcement as yet, didn't seem to make many starts at Coventry, so seems a downgrade on Alvaro Fernandez on paper. Hard to call it with these Prem academy players though, some need two or three loans to find their feet.

Him, Ramsay, Brady, and Potts would seem like fairly decent wingback options though.

Fernandez looked a fantastic player against us in that weird game at yours last season. Looked a real threat from LWB, carried the ball so well and with confidence, certainly a big player for you to replace.

Wilson-Esbrand got sent off playing LWB against us last season, looked like a kid on his first loan but all the right attributes to be a good player at this level, technically seemed neat and very athletic

Alvaro was really good to watch but pretty shocking defensively. Got himself in good positions so maybe should have improved on no goals and 4 assists. It was his first loan though.

I'm doubtful he'll make it at United long term but he could have a good Prem/ La Liga career.
