No he didn't. Bar an eight goal return at Huddersfield he has done absolutely nothing at Championship level. Turn off your blinkers.
You stated he only scored goals at League 1 level. I just gave you 2 examples of him scoring goals at Championship level. He also scored goals with Everton at Premier League level.

He's also better than Craig Davies.

I loved JB, when he got going he was brilliant. Only 9 (I think) for us but I'm pretty sure he barely started half the games. Got double figures for Everton too didn't he? Not gonna be a 20 goal a season man anymore but definitely a very decent signing for Preston if they come up (please do).

Huddersfield fans proving yet again to be a knowledgeable set of supporters.
A proper football team, unlike Bolton.

Joe Garner is the greatest footballer of all time

Am I now the most knowledgeable person on the forum?

Massive confidence player. He was wank in his first 6 or 7 games for us. Then he got ill, was out for about a month, came back and looked a completely different player alongside Garner.

If he plays with the same swagger as he does now then he would score goals in the Championship, his movement is as good as anyone i've seen in a Preston shirt.

I agree with DoubleJ that he's in a different class to Craig Davies too.

I'm open to being proved wrong (and they'll have the opportunity I think, as you're odds on to win at Wembley) but I'd put garner in the same category too. Both technically good players, both easily sussed at higher levels. I'm not overly convinced by either against good defences.

No one can say for sure, I never thought much of Lewis Grabban before he was promoted with Bournemouth.

In the defence of Garner though, he's come on a lot as a player from the one we brought in from Watford when he was very much an annoying poacher. He's become much more of a physical target man these days (apart from when he's hitting the deck) and I think Kevin Davies has had a big influence on him.

I'm still far from confident we will be playing in this league next season anyway, although I suspect Garner and Beckford will be, regardless.

How Millwall fans can criticise strikers is beyond me. Especially when you pay money to watch donkeys like Lee Gregory. I'm glad you and your horrible football club got relegated, hopefully spend many a year in the slumbers.
Anyway, see you next season.

Have any Sheffield Wednesday or Notts Forest fans heard anything about interest in Kyle Dempsey? Think it got reported a few days back, and in Wednesday's case it was in January as well, but we haven't heard much about it on our end.

Apparently we and Fulham have placed bids or something for Lewis Dunk.

Better than what we currently have, but is he good enough to help us chase promotion?

Brighton fans rave about him. Every time I've seen him he's looked lumbering and clumsy, but he must have something. Given his standing amongst their fans I doubt they'd sell cheaply.

Had a great first half of the season (chiefly because of his goals) but an error-strewn second half. Not as good as he's often made out to be by the media/in the eyes of neutrals.

Needs another season or two at this level to stamp out the lapses of concentration before he's ready for a move to the top flight I think.

Elsewhere, we've been linked with Wigan's James Perch, who Hughton knows pretty well.

Seems like we're really going to spend some cash this summer, given the talk from the club. Will comfortably meet FFP for this season, and next season is the first where the new rules come in to place which aren't quite as restrictive.

Whether we also sell is another matter. Hendrick being heavily linked with Villa, and Hughes is off to Liverpool for the third year running.

We're supposedly interesting in bringing Jason Shackell back, according to our local paper.

We're also apparently interested in Matt Upson on a free. I would suggest he will be our captain next season, if so. He's 36 though.

I'd like us to have a look at bringing Shackell back.

Very few rumours at the moment on our front. I imagine we'll start moving for targets pretty quickly once we know which league we'll be in.

Not heard anything since the rumours in January, not sure he's the type of player we'll be looking at now our financial situation has changed. If we signed him I expect him to be put in the development squad or loaned out, he's looked a tidy player the few times I've seen him and his age gives him a lot of promise.

Depending on how much you strengthen over summer - and i'm given to understand you'll probably strengthen quite a bit - you'd probably be looking at either having him as a sub or loaning him to a League 1 team for a year.

I think he'd quite comfortably make the step up a league, two leagues i'm not so sure although there's a bit of Premier League interest and they must think he's special so maybe he could. It's not really fair to judge how good he is from this season because he stood out so much, all we know is that he's too good for League 2.

Bristol City have been linked with Daniel Bentley.

Personally i don't think we need to get another goalie to replace Frankie, he is probably Championship quality, but this guy does look like a decent goalkeeper too. He broke a club record for consecutive clean sheets (he kept 12 in a row) and was in Arsenal's academy. Back-up maybe?

We need a goalkeeper of some sort, pointless signing a shit one that will never challenge frankie (ala Richards)

We were linked to Bentley in January, so I think we could go in for him. Highly rated anyway.

According to Alan Nixon, we've bid £2m for Jota from Brentford. Would be VERY pleased with that!
