I think probably a loan, but I don’t really see him ever making it here. He was decent enough for Tranmere last year, skilful winger that cuts in off the left I think. Probably a bit more developed than Holden who you had last season from us.

I think he was also on trial at Hibs the other day, didn’t work out perhaps.

Get the feeling from rumours flying about that we're looking at bringing 2 strikers in - one as competition/rotation for Diedhiou and another more out and out goalscorer.

If that's correct, I'd be okay with a Moore or Hugill type signing, though I'd prefer the latter. A lineup of, say: Diedhiou; Hugill; Nketiah; Weimann; Semenyo seems alright to me. João at Weds another one who's been linked.

We weren’t willing to pay what he wanted in wages and we were already paying far too much for my liking.

We’ve still not agreed a fee for Lowe yet, I suspect we may have given up on that one as well since it’s gone dead quiet over the past few days.

Feels like we’re now just waiting until the Prem loanees get released for the season, because we always sign a shed load of them .

A good signing for someone in this division would be Bielik from Arsenal (on loan at Charlton last season). He had a great season for them in L1 and is certainly good enough for this level; he shone at the Euro U21 Championships last month.

For me he was in the top 3 CBs alongside Lindsay and Pearson last year in L1.

Would certainly fit into the Brentford mold of buying cheap young and flogging him for 4 times the value. You could get him for £1-2m and sell him for £8-10m in 12 months time.

He's someone that now we've got cash on the hip, should look into taking on.

Doubt he'd be as cheap as £1m-£2m, coming from Arsenal, especially after impressing for the U21s.

I'd say more like £4m-£5m

No one who watched our CB pairing on a regular basis last season would have Lindsay ahead of Pinnock.

I don't think he was our first choice but other rumoured players aren't looking likely. If he's coming in as a squad player I'm happy enough. He's costing us twice as much as he would have when we wanted him last summer though.

Finally breaking the 30 year old club record transfer fee. I know €1.5m is small beer for most of the clubs up here but it's a big step for us. Shows how far the club has come from playing in non league 5 years ago.
