I’m actually not overly fussed if we don’t get in the playoffs. I think we’d have no chance of actually winning them. It’d be good to get there, but not the end of the world if we don’t.

I just want us to finish the season positively. We are a young quite inexperienced team, a lot of players are playing their first full seasons. They’ll hopefully be better for it next season and with a few summer additions to help them.

We’re 3 points behind 6th and 7th. Our GD is better than FGR and the same as Newport’s.

The next two games are tough, probably as tough as they could be, but if we can come out of those two games still within 3 points of 7th, we’ve a chance.

Tonight’s performance should hopefully give us some belief for our remaining away games.

Always Wembley in the play offs and theres more good news you will fit all your season ticket holders in as you will get 2000 tickets
We have have nearly 4,000 ST holders. Almost as many as the number of Bolton fans (who arent our rivals according to you) who are so obsessed with us that they are constantly posting on twitter about us.

Bradford, 3 good saves from our keeper, one smacked off the post and a few high and wide.

Crawley, 2 goals, one penalty not given, 1 good save from the keeper and 1 off the line....oh a cheeky chip that had the keeper worried for a second or two.

Oh, I thought the ref must have decided that 50-50 challenges were going Crawley's way. The Bradford lads were getting very angry about it. The frustration showed when a couple of tackles at the end were bordering on nasty.

Think our centre halfs, McNerney and Tunnicliffe were men of the match. A goal each and did their jobs well all game.

Reminded me of the 2-1 there. Nearly got the post match punch up as well

I seem to remember there was a lot of positivity towards him a few months ago. Not specifically from you but generally from the Tranmere fans. He didn't really get a fair crack of the whip for us so I can't really judge him. Did well at Rochdale. Vaughan injury came at the worst time for you when you looked like you might have some momentum
There wasn't positivity. There was acceptance at best. The dross he is presenting lately is as bad, if not worse, than what we had in the first 10 games. Vaughan wasn't injured in the many games we barely produced more than 2 shots on target. He just had a good finishing rate.

Is English your first language. If it is you are not very likely to learn another. You struggle with this one.

Nearly 4k is about 45 % of our season tickets.....Nope we are not your rivals never have been never will be
Maybe you should look to Barrow they mirror you in the amount of fans you both have. Barrows grounds a little better.....and you once had the same owner........perhaps with a bit of luck you could become Barrows feeder club

See you in another 30 years lah

The reaction from some quarters of the Tranmere fanbase to Hill's appointment was at best bizarre and at worst vitriolic. I never understood why they were so quick to turn on our owners, and it did real harm.

Thankfully, that's slowly turning into a bad memory and a few have had to eat humble pie. Hill has won over his doubters, and reassured those of us who preferred to give him a chance.
A post which you gave a thumbs up... "Hill has won over his doubters"........

Either way if you go up either automatically or through playoffs it's all irrelevant anyway isn't it. If he takes you up would you give him a go in the league above?

No. Even Boz who has been supportive of him seems to have lost faith on one of our club forums.

Has a manager ever been sacked after guiding a team to promotion?

The thumbs up was in response to the attitude of some on twitter who, like many on there, have a constant knee jerk reaction to everything. I have never said i liked him. He was appointed manager and there is nothing to be gained from being negative immediately after he got the job. The simple fact is that he has taken us backwards.

Outsider looking in but surely from a Tranmere perspective you'd have taken where you are now after the start you had?

19 shots and if we were still playing now we wouldn’t have scored, Andy Cook aside the majority of our lot couldn’t hit a barn door. Think that’s us done now, laboured again and there are just too many sides better placed to over take.

No. We have blown this and its nothing to do with the Vaughan injury. There has been far too much negative football from a manager who talked about playing attacking football. He started having a go at the fans a few weeks ago because we weren't happy about him saying he was happy with draws against teams we were very capable of beating with a more positive attitude. Michael Jackson lost his job because he had the team playing like he was scared of losing. This is the same.

He was sacked in the summer and replaced by Pochettino after taking them from League 1 to the Premier League i think.

We where awesome tonight first 30 minutes totally dominant and once again missed a few golden chances and they fell to Doyle, credit to Salford they played some neat stuff and put us under a lot of pressure but never really looked like scoring, we showed we can do both sides of the game, yet another clean sheet, when someone like Delfounso is throwing his body to block a shot you just know this is a team pulling together.

We have a gap but should now be looking to get above Cambridge because the Morecombe game is another 6 pointer.

Our form over the last three games has been patchy at best, So Salford away wouldn't be my first choice opposition. We are new to this league but one thing i know for sure is that no team are that much better than anyone else and any team can get a result on a given day.

So how the hell have Salford remained unbeaten at home this season? fair play to them a great stat, however law of averages say they will get beaten, we are better away even after the Newport defeat a game we should have won comfortably so just maybe its a day of reckoning this Tuesday evening . And 3 points to the Trotters .
I called it lol

Yes, I am pretty sure Hill won't be managing us next season. Even if we somehow scrape into the play offs, we look completely rudderless at the moment and I would be amazed if we are promoted with him in charge.

The problems go beyond just the Vaughan injury. His recruitment in January was shocking, letting three strikers leave and replacing them with the 36 year old David Nugent, but even setting aside the lack of striking options, we should have coped much better without Vaughan. He just has not developed an alternative system of play where we can create chances and score goals, and there is plenty of attacking talent in the squad.

Rapidly losing interest to be honest. At least if we put Dawes in charge for the final five games, we might have a shot on target.

His post match interview is worth a watch if you need to swear a lot.

The interviewers give him an easier time than the BBC give tory politicians. There are no questions about tactics or players out of position, nothing that puts him in a corner.. If these are journalists then the profession is finished.

True.

Can’t heap all the blame on Keith Hill for tonight’s 2nd half performance. The player’s have to take their share of the blame as they helped create Walsall’s goal and did bugger all at the opposite end. Only 40 year old goalkeeper Joe Murphy to come out of the game with any credit.

Do the players choose the tactics? Do the players select the team? Do the players give the half time talk? He is the manager. If a manager cannot inspire those he is managing then he is clearly not fit for purpose. Something is obviously wrong. As Harry Truman said "The buck stops here". The man in charge is ultimately responsible.

Out of interest, if we are not considered a rival of your club why is our twitter site rammed with comments from Bolton fans? How many comments would there be if you cared?

Probably, but not in the form we have been in for the last six weeks. The issue with Hill is that he has failed pretty spectacularly in the most crucial phase of the season.

We looked nailed on for automatic promotion after winning at Orient at the end of February, but the wheels have completely fallen off since that game. The injury to Vaughan was clearly a major part of that, but Hill has been backed to the hilt with a very strong squad and we should not be so dependent on one player.

We have won only one of the last nine games, and have only scored one goal in the last four and a half hours of football. That is pretty poor for a promotion chasing side in the run in.

I personally don’t care. Can’t speak for the rest of the fan base. Plenty of the Bolton posters on here have said they don’t consider it a rivalry. I think the fact there is a small history, plus Keith Hill being there and being so close to each other in the league is probably just exacerbating it. If we weren’t close in the table I don’t think many would care
