It’s been quite the week so far at GTFC towers, John Fenty has been caught inviting a convicted fraudster to our games in order to get ‘investment’. On top of that he set up a property company with him (the chap got 6 years for a property scam in 2012) which is bad enough, worse when you realise he used his position as a councilor to facilitate ‘regeneration’ deals.

Fenty has stepped down from his council role but not his role at the club. There’s been absolute uproar about it and now we’re playing bottom of the league Southend.

I’d therefore like to congratulate Southend on their back to back wins

We don't usually like a high press and Askey's teams are usually set up ideally to beat us.

That being said this season we do seem pretty effective at switching play a bit quicker with our pacy wing backs pushed right up combining with our overlapping CB's, which on a big pitch like Vale Park should be an advantage.

This has got 1-1 or 1-0 either way written all over it, would definitely take a point.

We're away at morecambe, does anyone know anything about them at all?
They have zero fans on here, I don't know anyone that's been, they're suspiciously mid table - do they even exist?
Is this all some strange efl conspiracy just to pad out the number of games?

I really am just sick of these types of characters circling around football teams.

I saw a tweet that you'd rejected an offer of investment and guessing it's from this guy. It's really not worth the short term cash boost to then have to force these bastards out over a period of years, further down the line.

As for the game tonight - It really does just depend if we can take a couple of half chances or not. We should have won on Saturday but then again a draw was not exactly a travesty and Colchester would probably feel that they were worth a point considering they had a few chances later on. I'm not at all confident of keeping a clean sheet so we'll need to score 2-3 to win the game at least.

Morecambe were top when we played them. Not a bad side but they collapsed a bit when put under pressure and we won 4-0. They've been falling down the table ever since.

Fancy a win.

Game against Cambridge re-arranged to Jan. Shock, they weren't awarded the points as some seemed to think..

Scrappy 1-1 draw or a narrow away win I’m predicting.

Think Tanner being out will likely disrupt us a bit.

They haven't fallen that far, they're top 10 2 points off the playoffs and have won 2 of their last 3 games.

God the injuries just keep on going. We're playing a winger at LB today as both of our LB's are out injured.

:) Yes, sometimes I have a feeling we don't really exist and I'm not sure we're any good BUT we keep grinding out results scrappily and sometimes we play some really good stuff and I think we're generally getting better.
I think Derek Adams has crafted a hard working side that seem to have a good spirit. Having said that I think we will struggle tonight.

It’s a disaster for us really, no Monty, Manny or Worrall the three key attacking players we have that turned our fortunes, Amoo not fit to start either so young Alex Hurst on the wing with Rodney moving out wide to cover, away from where he has been scoring lately.

Huge ask.

Were missing both Tanner and Devine today. We still have plenty of options in midfield and Riley returns to the starting line up this evening but we lack a real back up for Tanner so have put Jack armer in who is normally a left back.

Id take a draw against cloughs in form stags

We're really going to let a totally out of form team beat us again

We've given our two best players this season, Jevani Brown and Noah Chilvers, a rest on the bench tonight. We've played dreadfully for weeks, so expecting a defeat.

We take the deserved lead after a few missed chances

We look very shaky defensively though, can see this being high scoring

Just as I said, terrible defending leads to an equaliser

We absolutely dominated the opening 30 minutes, and have been right under the cosh for the last 15 of the first half.
One nil to the Os at the half, probably deserved though could easily be one apiece, our goal was lovely, from out the back 4 touches and in. Johnson with his 8,500th of the season.

We are absolutely shocking at defending corners/set pieces and crosses, Barrow look like scoring on everyone they take
