Tremendous point from us in the circumstances. Gutting not to get all three. Newport are terrible though

Big wins for Cheltenham and Forest Green. And nice to see Carlisle using their games in hand as well as used our games last week.

Newport didn't deserve to draw that. Ref did his best to just give them the 3 points.

35 minutes against 10 men and 54 minutes against 9 men and they scrape a draw. I don't know if I'm more embarrassed for Newport or for us being the only side to lose to them (x2) in what, 15 games.

Fuck me that was jammy, Oldham hit the post twice, had two goals ruled out for offside as well as missing a few others.

Really enjoyed that. I thought we played so really tidy stuff - especially in the second half. Morecambe’s goal came from a cross-shot - very fortuitous.

Expected more from Morecambe, but I just think we were too good tonight. At times, we seemed to take the foot of the gas. Carlos Mendes Gomes is some player. I don’t think he’ll be playing L2 football for much longer.

9 points off the play-offs with a game in hand.

Massive effort from exeter, unlucky to fall just short.

Good results for teams lurking in mid table with games in hand
will the game be on Tomorrow or is it still raining in la la land

Got to feel for Exeter after hanging on for so long with 9 men only to concede in the last minutes. Great effort nonetheless.
Newport WTF?

Stevenage deserved the win at Crawley tonight. We had a penalty to equalise but it was too close to the keeper and apart from that we never really created a chance whereas they had three good chances plus their goal. Which was a bit of a cracker but why we let him get a shot off from the edge of the box needs discussing.

I just think Yems has lost the plot since we played Leeds. We sold Watters which is fair enough for a club our size but we haven't tried to replace him. Our midfield does not function and the set up with three men deep and two men very wide means we do not threaten going forward and are too deep to win any loose balls. Obviously I cant know what is happening behind the scenes and in training but the make up of the team on the pitch is very ineffective while good players are nowhere near the squad. It seems Yems no longer trusts the players he has available.

We are falling like a stone at the moment and, although I dont think we will get into trouble, a season of such promise is turning into a big disappointment.

Don't know how big the Carlisle squad is but they will need every one of them with the number of matches they have to play. Feel sorry for Chris Beech, he has done an incredible job and the problems he faces are certainly not his making. His team looked a good outfit when they came to VP.

Shows what shite Clarke created here Dutton tried to get them passing the ball more rather than hoofball and they just arent comfortable with it at all hope this will change in time.Cheltenham will go up though very good side.

I wonder if it's possible to activate Jolley's "summer clause" on the grounds that it is summer in the Southern Hemisphere.

The man is devoid of ideas.

Agreed, thoroughly deserved win tonight. After watching that, I'm even more delighted we didn't appoint Adams now.

My god that was grim. Getting worse by the week which is quite an achievement.
1st red card was a 50/50, clumsy and gave the ref a decision to make. 2nd red was pretty blatant especially already being down to 10 men.

Well happy with that result. If I'm being honest, I can see why the ref sent both of our players off, if the boot was on the other foot I would have been howling for them both to be off. Amazing that we were still 1-0 up with only about 5 mins remaining, holding out for a draw with 9 men is fantastic. I know it is a cliche, but that point just might be the difference between what division we play in next season. We will be without Bowman up front for the next 3 games, so the other guys need to step up, hopefully Randall will be ready to start to assist whoever we put up there to replace Bowman

We had a decent bench last night, and the likes of Dean Furman, Taylor Charters and Josh Dixon not in the squad. Used four subs in our last three games (five against FGR), so if we can get everyone match fit then squad size shouldn't be the issue. Within the next few weeks, we should find ourselves with a squad of 23 decent first team players.

Of course it would still be preferable to be able to play an unchanged side but the main issue is that not everyone looks sharp at the moment. Some have come back in looking good, I thought Farman was excellent last night, Zanzala looked much more up to pace when he came on and Toure finally scored last week against FGR; but on the flip side some are still struggling. Mellish dropped to the bench having looked in the last game like some of his adjustment to his new position had been set back, Bennett is not as imperious at the back as he was and Anderton has now given away penalties by bringing down opposition players in positions of no real danger in successive games.

Still though, it's something that we haven't conceded from open play since Boxing Day. That was a bit of a joke when we'd only played two games but we've played four now and been beaten by goals from these silly fouls (two penalties that Anderton gave away and a free kick right on the edge of the box for FGR), so the defensive solidness is still there if we can cut out the sloppiness. Our main issue is scoring goals and we may take a little longer to find any sort of form with that. Our attackers this season have weighed in with goals between them (15 between Alessandra, Patrick, Kayode and Toure) but only Mellish so far has had a spell of good goalscoring form. Could really do with someone like Zanzala getting his shooting boots on and not have to rely on a midfielder or centre back having a purple patch.

I said before this game (actually before Crawley but that didn't happen) that our season starts now. Well it's started with a scrappy defeat and the team looking out of sorts but that's pretty much how the first half of the season began when we had the highest turnover of players in the EFL, so it's just a case of whether we can sort ourselves out a second time. We have a three or four game headstart at least but I think it will be a battle for us to be in the top 7.

We mean business with that line up and bench. You're disappointed for the good players who haven't even made the squad.

‘Other than that we’ve had no contact other than the snippets I read in the press, which were obviously aimed at Bolton and me. But we won’t take much notice of it, we’ll go there with the right attitude and try to get a result.

“It’s us against the world and we’ll take everybody on.’

Evatt is rattled 24/7

Bolton aren't paranoid though. The fans have told us they are not paranoid, mostly in posts where they say we all hate them and are jealous.

A lot of our fans were going nuts over him last week - talking about the bus timetable and whatnot apparently. He was also apparently shockingly biased, even moreso than the FGR guy - which is definitely saying something.
The Harrogate home commentator I listened to for our match away the other week was from Radio York - him and his other half were a right laugh and even though they got all the names and stats of our players right and kept up with play ( more than can be said for our own sometimes) I too now know that the No9 will take me straight to the hospital from the ground should I have a funny turn next season.........well done chaps, enjoyed your work and made me smile.
