Two or three weeks for the main two. Hopefully in time for our Wimbledon/Grimsby double header. Whitaker returned as a sub on Tuesday, apparently he’s just ‘tired’ as he’s a child who’s never played football before. I think we should depose the sport scientists, everyone keeps getting injured anyway. We had Jarvis, another new signing, on the bench at Vale and couldn’t bring him on for the same reason, which is ridiculous.

We sent Brown back to Bristol Rovers in January. He never really did anything other than demolish Alfreton Town in the cup. In his defence he’s got quite a languid style that really didn’t lend itself to making an impact off the bench. Few nice touches but zero league goals.
They'll definitely all be back for our match. I'm pretty sure we will end up being the only team to play against all your star players in both matches and they'll all be on fire for the entire 180 minutes.

Will travel to Notts on Saturday dreading both the game and the team news. Tranmere should be shit enough that we scrape a win, but a really bad home defeat can’t be far off and this could be it.

Team news has become a consistent wtf moment when a random but important player is surprisingly out with a hitherto unheard of injury. It’s become as big an ordeal as the matches themselves. My money’s on George Abbot for this one.

You played us before we’d even signed Abbott last time and he’s arguably been our player of the season. We’ve sold Crowley for this one as well, stop complaining. ;)

Maynard pretty much straight up said today that all of our subs are just based on how many minutes the boffins think people can play rather than what we actually need to do in the game. These stethoscope nerds had better get everyone fit for an eight game winning run to end the season.

Is that what he’s said? I’m all for using data and science but it does make me wonder whether a more experienced manager wouldn’t tell them to bollocks if for example they were informing him he couldn’t bring on Jarvis and Whitaker until the 73rd minute when you’re drawing 1-1 against Colchester.

Also is Curtis Edwards GPS thing knackered because he’s been blowing out of his arse after about 20 minutes since he’s come back!

Well that won't help Town's number one season ambition if they are.

We really could do with 2 of those 3 mentioned back, even 1 would be nice. Give Part Time Stu a chance it's only fair.

Great to see that Hunts is still playing and presumably playing well for Bradford.

He struggled last season in League 1 but always thought he’d still be more than useful in League 2. Big mistake we made in releasing him.

Just the type of player you need yourself right now to battle your way out of trouble.

We have been using him sparingly, however, you can see what a good player he still is

We are back to having loads of injuries again and having field reserve sides every game so vale won't even finish in the top 7.

Well you Grimsby lads, apparently we have a decent record against you, which of course counts for sweet FA.
Just got a book from the club shop simply called ' Pondy'. Smashing book from a guy who's in the Guinness Book of Records. In particular a whole chapter titled A Legend on Two Coasts- playing for your team. Paul Hurst was joint manager back then. He signed off for Grimsby with a goal on his 28th birthday in the home draw against Hereford
Enough reminiscing, your doing great on the road but not as well playing at home. We've picked up at home and are mediocre on our travels.
A draw will be a good result, if nothing else to show that last Tuesday's performance wasn't a flash in the pan
We won't make the play offs this year, but I hope you do !

Pond was an obscenely good CB for that level. The best fifth tier CB I've seen in both of our recent stints down there by some way. Absolutely imperious and we had some excellent ones for that level during those two stints. Remember being very disappointed when you recalled him.

I think a lot of Town fans are expecting a win on Saturday after winning away at Donny which is a dangerous place for us to be in. Can't afford to let complacency in as I think it is going to be a tough match. Wild teams are often well organised and tough to break down.

Having had a rotten Jan, to bounce back with four wins out of four would surely Scoop Artell the dreaded manager of the month award.

Yardley had the same mentality about resting and rotating.
How come Matt Palmer after a serious injury can run his legs off week after week but the young lads and Loanees can't manage half an hour?
Edwards and Grant as a pairing are too lightweight, just not helping Jatta enough. Edwards has to be dropped.

Yup too lightweight together. I'd love us to have the luxury to drop both but doubt that is possible or likely.

Garrity and Headley definitely out on Saturday and likely Stockley. Just when things were looking up injury wise, we lose 3 key players. Headley has added that balance but also strength on the left and Garrity just has so much impact with his drive and will to win. Stockley and Tolaj were starting to make their mark and looked dangerous as a pair.

On the plus side, it looks like Mitch Clarke could be back this weekend or at worst next weekend , who is one of the better wingbacks in the league. Also Byers seems to at last be fit. So it might not be perhaps as bad as the last time we lost Garrity.

Big advantage for some of our rivals though as we're definitely weaker.

Difference this time is we have Byers, and back up in Centre mid. Also, Garrity doesn't seem to be as bad as first feared. 2 or 3 weeks instead of 6 to 8 as was first rumoured. Not loads of games in that time and players back from injury / suspension soon too.

Headley a loss in terms of the balance he's added since he joined, but we've managed without him before. Hart not great but I prefer him higher up the pitch...he's a liability defending, way too weak.

Obviously I'd prefer we didn't lose them both, but I'm not as concerned as a lot are. We're in a better position to cope than we were in December.

I reckon Colchester might beat us on Saturday. If we are to get any sort of result we will have to play better than we did at Fleetwood. I want to see 3 or 4 changes simply to freshen it up.

Grant is a talented footballer but he just doesn't seem to be interested in getting down and dirty. He's now 23 with 68 league appearances so I think he should be offering a little more, although he did score.
Edwards looks like a man playing a division too high, just not at the pace of the game at all and I'm not convinced he'll be able to play his way to the level.

I'd imagine Rovers will try to stifle Notts County and in all probability fail miserably. Though sooner or later we'll get a streaky point on our travels, would be very surprised if it's this weekend. Defender Declan Drysdale and an unnamed attacker believed to be Sol Solomon out for the season.

Well, we haven’t won for 11 now I believe.
Bottom of the league for the last 20 games or so.
Doesn’t matter how bad Carlisle think they are they won’t lose this.
Would settle for a draw against the big spenders.

I think Edwards looks like he’s got something to offer as a squad player, but not in that attacking position that Maynard is using him. He’d be far more comfortable playing deeper.

Home form very good of late, however with just Rose on his own up top as seems likely, a change in system may be forced upon us. Wilson to make a rare appearance?

Against Colchester he was forced to play him there due to absentees. Didn't want to move the effective Palmer / Abbott combo.

What about Grant? Needs to do more for me. Needs more bite, more effort to go with his neat and tidy play on the ball.

We're heading to Bromley, where they have a strong defensive record, having kept two clean sheets in a row. Given our struggles to score goals, it's unlikely we'll return to North Yorkshire with a victory. Bromley are giants, while we are on the short side. Our best hope may be for the little Yorkshire Terriers to pressure them by snapping at their heels and annoy them enough to secure a draw.

It's anyone's guess what the team will be. In last week's win against Swindon Simon Weaver favoured the old guard who came up with the club from the NL and NLN. Warren Burrell (34) and Jack Muldoon (35) in preference to Bolingo and that gormless knob Sanderson.

Was that a massive "Pondy - legend, leader, blah" banner hanging up I saw last week? Next to the one that says "One Andy Pilley"... Is that second banner a genuine fans' thing or official endorsement for a man serving 13 years for fraud?

Well, we have Jay Williams suspended, and Joe White, Jack Sanders, Nathan Thompson, Laurence Maguire and Jonathan Leko all injured.

Given the defensive woes and 3 key defenders missing, alongside our best CDM, we will make history I reckon with a record defeat.

7-0 Bradford.

The Pondy' legend banner is the real McCoy. The Pilley banner is a disgrace and should be removed and burnt. The b......could be out by 2030...a pariah

Carlisle v Gillingham

The battle of the two most out of form teams in League 2. However the pressure is more on us because we have been consistently the worst team in the football league all season and despite us being 100% down we need to find some sort of form to take into next season's National League season.

Famous last words but I don't think Gillingham will dick us 4-1 again like they did in the reverse fixture. They got a credible point last week at Walsall but don't look the free scoring team they were that day. I expect a tight game but with our poor quality I see Gillingham just edging it.

Carlisle United 0-1 Gillingham
