That was my feeling. I felt we were set up very defensively and it showed in our performance. A bit of attacking intent might have been better.

It just felt like we’d gone there with Sutton in mind and the goals conceded but does feel a missed opportunity, if we had a go with the big following against a side out of form, we do seem to either be tight but can’t score, or scoring for fun but more open at the back than a hookers legs. Need to get some middle ground I guess!

Sounded like the sending off changed that. By all accounts it could have gone the other way. I'll wait to see what Yems says on the subject.
A poor goal for us to give a way, but a great strike by Jay, and Nombe has now scored 6 in a row.
No draw today!
Yeah need to see the sending off but people are saying it looked like a penalty and we got away with it. But, it’s nice to get a bit of luck and to score 3 second half goals, albeit against 10 men, is pleasing.

Nombe and Jay both on really good form. If Nombe scores on Saturday that will equal the record of consecutive league goals currently held by David Wheeler. Oh and 11 league games unbeaten isn’t too shabby! UTC

Stevenage were absolutely garbage. A really really comfortable evening. 7 clean sheets in 13 now.

Fellow members of the top 7, do you feel like you’re yet to click and consistently play well or are you playing well most weeks?

Discussion today in the pub before hand was about trying to figure out how many good performances we’d had. Couldn’t list many where we’d been really good, and yet we’re 6th.

We were crap and deserved to lose. We clearly went there for a point, which was bizarre. However, a point away from home isn’t disastrous and we’re still in a good position.

Poorest performance by a mile this season but got a point and in fairness defended well enough Cov didn’t really have a save to make but very poor goal to concede which is frustrating.

Missed Procs tonight massively to hold the ball up but beat Colchester at the weekend and that’s a good point tonight.

If we can play that off the pace and still get something then it’s a good sign.

Mansfield let you off the hook tonight, let’s not pretend otherwise. It was a great Mansfield goal too, played some good football in that second but just lacked something to get another.

Actually bemused by Vale tonight; right up there in the table, second best the entire night, managed to get a free kick and score a good goal, but instead of trying to score another and probably kill us off you decided to initiate time wasting and were very fortunate to be playing a Mansfield side with very little confidence or quality upfront and took a point.

Apart from tonight where it was mostly awful we have spells in games where other teams really struggle to live with us but mostly our opponents have been allowed to hang in those games and a few times have hurt us when they have a spell of 15 minutes or so.

Obviously not at the game so no comment on whether the ref made the right call with the sending off but I will say Nadesan is not known to be a diver.

I expect Yems will get a stadium ban when he goes into a rant about the ref in the interview. To be fair to him. He does criticize the ref when we win. For instance saying Rochdale had some bad decisions against them the other week.

Don't think there's any question of that, we stole a point.

If I was a Mansfield fan I'd be questioning where that has been all season as even allowing for injuries nobody can tell me the likes of Lapslie are not up among the better players in this league. Impressed with your team though even if ours was disjointed.

Easiest win Hartlepool will have this season. But well deserved and good fans who enjoyed their evening.

Less said about us the better. As bad as anything I saw when we got relegated and finished bottom of L1. Hopeless.

Just when we think we've seen the worst squad in our lifetime we manage to sign worse and worse. The club is rotten.

We’ve had huge issues with injuries but yeah Lapslie, among most have hugely underperformed other than the first 4 games of the season. I don’t think anybody has sussed it out yet why, that’s the problem.

One thing to note is Quinn came back today after a six match ban and we were dangerous down the left throughout the entire game.

Should really have put the game to bed first half after a crap start. Upson appeared to be sent off for heading the ball - changed the game. We stopped playing second half and Carlisle grew into it. Day made some fine saves to salvage a draw.

Worst performance of the season that, and quite comfortably too. Mansfield thoroughly deserved to win that but at last, we seem to have a bit of grit about us. Dug in and ground out a point when playing terribly isn't something we're usually known for. We would've lost that game over the previous few seasons.

Not a chance Mansfield will be anywhere near the bottom come the end of the season. Far too many good individual players throughout that squad to see that happen. Not surprised in the slightest to see Quinn return from suspension and completely run the show in midfield. Top notch performance there.

Also, credit where it's due to Mansfield fans. Best fans, home or away, that I've seen all season, and given their current position, and no win in 13, they made a terrific atmosphere. Thought we were fairly decent during the first half but quietened down second half as they took control and the nerves and frustration kicked in amongst us.

Always a decent away day Mansfield and a decent bunch. Helps that I fucking hate those Spireite c*** and Notts County, up the road as well, so a nice mutual dislike there for us both. Good luck for the rest of the season. I'm sure we'll have another decent battle at VP later in the season.

I'm bemused too. Clarke was talking pre-game like you were in the top 2 and that we needed to be really careful. Talked himself into playing for a point rather than going at a team low on confidence and form.

Poor show all round tonight but we take a point and move on.

Just glad we smashed our season ticket sales target so we could secure Lavery and Robinson. Something stinks at the club as Firthy said.

Argh, Colchester did to us exactly what we did to Bradford on the weekend. Dominated the entire game and should have been out of sight. We sat back and invited pressure on and Harries stupidly gets a 2nd yellow for taking about 20 minutes to take a throw in in the by the Colchester corner flag ffs. A deserved red, but so so stupid.

Colchester equalise not long after and all of a sudden (I looked away) 4 Colchester players are attacking Clarke - no idea why or what happened but both end with reds. Will have to see the replay later but from what I did see, I’m not sure why we were also given a red for being attacked - seems like lazy refereeing to just send them both off, although I appreciate his view would be a lot worse than on the TV.

2 points thrown away for no reason, very frustrating, but we are getting better. Slowly.

Hopefully that win on the road is the monkey off our back. Feared us getting a paggering tonight after Saturdays performance, I would’ve taken just scoring a goal before kick off, three goals and three points later I don’t know what to do with myself. Hopefully Cullen getting a bit of confidence infront of goal is a kickstart for the rest of the season.

Only one home win so far but unbeaten away. Not sure exactly why we haven't clicked at home yet. Bit of a shame, best attendances we've had for a while but only a fraction of those fans have seen our best performances.

Can hardly complain while we sit in third place with a brand new team though. Hopeful we will really put a team to the sword at home soon.

You were only a threat with the odd corner.
Apart from that it was aimless long balls to Cook & overhit free kicks.
I fancied us to get off the mark tonight, but didn't expect it to be so easy.

Aimless hoof and one up top at home. It's nowhere near good enough. Absolutely dire.

We've had the odd decent half hour here and there, yet find ourselves 4th. I think it's going to be a very low points total that wins it this time.

Hard-earned point for both sides in a good quality game in east London. Chances were at a premium - both sides scored their only shots on target - but the standard of play was reasonably high throughout.

FGR put some superb balls into our box and some of their incisive passing in their attacking third was levels above this division. For our part Dan Kemp had a lively game and our back 3 continue to be tighter than a nun’s chuff in open play.

Ref was excellent - pity the only mistake he made all night led directly to FGR’s opener.

Today aside which was far below standard we’ve had spells where we look a level above, football wise and technically with Pett, Conlon, Worrall and Wilson, but they seem to come in half a game or 30 minute spells then we drop off the pace and invite pressure. When we click it’s a joy to watch and has fans rightfully excited but we haven’t been putting teams to the sword enough when on those 30-45 minute spells.

If we can put it into a 90 minute performance most weeks then we will get promoted… it’s a huge IF though.

After last season I’m still in the one win until half way to safety thought though!

Fair result between us and FGR, happy we managed to get a goal at least after 2 blanks at home. Both sides dealt with their opponents dominant spells well. We're just lacking in the final third, we're just not creating chances at the moment, good finish from Sotiriou on the break for us though.

The corner FGR scored from should've been a goal kick, one of those small decisions that can go against you, but they looked a threat from corners all evening and on another day the one Kyprianou hooked off the line goes in in the first half.

Both sides I thought showed their opponents alot of respect, neither side went full pelt. FGR probably just shaded it because in the final third we was again a bit too ponderous and slow.

We let Cadden have too many 1v1s against Tom James for my liking, on another day his end product after turning him inside out would've probably been alot better.

If we can get some confidence in the final third to go with our resilience we can keep amongst the top 7.
