I didn't mean you'd be up for it because port vale is a scalp. I mean other factors like the poor run, Clough fighting for his job etc.

fair enough. apologies

We have to go for it here. Against 9 men, fucking pepper them. We won’t get a better chance to win.

My ifollow has died. Shoddy can you let me know if there’s been any extra intent to go on and win the game since they went down to 9 men? Or are we just happy not to get beat?

Awful!

Something’s not right behind the scenes here. That, alongside the fact that this squad is utter gash, tripled with the fact that Adam’s is completely, and utterly, tactically inept - just awful.

Weren't Bradford and Mansfield two of the teams predicted by many on here to get automatic promotion this season?

That is what you call a tactical booking for Nathan Smith there. Cynical play but smart.

Very poor performance from us but a point away from home can’t be sniffed at. Mansfield played really well, keep doing that they’ll be shooting up that table in no time.

Sounds like we only started having a go properly in the last 15 minutes. Disappointing result which I saw coming and definitely an opportunity missed, just glad it wasn't a loss.

Referee's just absolutely shit himself there.

Newport on the attack in injury time while Callum Guy is down with a head injury. Ref pays him no attention until right at the end as the attack is wasted and ball is going out for a Carlisle goal kick. He then spends a good 90 seconds or even two minutes hearing the protests of both squads. Then he gives Newport the ball from where they lost it, basically allowing them to have another go at shooting. They shoot, they miss and then the ref blows his whistle dead on the 94:00 that was indicated by the 4th official adding back none of the time wasted while everyone argued about the drop ball. He'll be getting a mouthful off both benches.

In reality we should have won that, we were the better side, port vale will go away feeling very lucky.

However that’s why we are where we are and port vale are where they are

We need every point we can get right now and our manager costs us all 3 by putting 10 men behind the ball for no reason.

We looked so comfortable for so long, Barrow didn't threaten even once until he changed the tactics. Two points dropped from a comfortable position because our manager constantly outsmarts himself.

Poorest performance by a mile this season but got a point and in fairness defended well enough Cov didn’t really have a save to make but very poor goal to concede which is frustrating.

Missed Procs tonight massively to hold the ball up but beat Colchester at the weekend and that’s a good point tonight.

If we can play that off the pace and still get something then it’s a good sign.

And when the away win finally came, it was a piece of piss. That never looked like being anything other than three points. We played... quite well. Delighted for Cullen. Now let's make this away win count by following it up at home.

Pure frustration at not being able to get the win against nine men but we at least we came out in the second half and created more chances, including the one that led to the penalty. Then we wasted two or three really good ones. Still, enough to suggest that Dickenson, Clough and Gibson can be an effective front three for us if used properly.

Shocking from us, couldn't even do the basics, but we fought an ugly game and hung on well. Conlon hit the bar again nearly getting us out of jail.

Have to say ref was utter shit yet again. What Martin got booked for I'll never know.

Proctor is a big miss, Lloyds not a starter

Sounded like the sending off changed that. By all accounts it could have gone the other way. I'll wait to see what Yems says on the subject.
A poor goal for us to give a way, but a great strike by Jay, and Nombe has now scored 6 in a row.
No draw today!

Very entertaining 2nd half with both teams having spells on top. Tranmere very unlucky not to take all 3 points with McManaman hitting the crossbar late on. Well worth the £10 Ifollow fee.

The Tranmere commentry team were told to fu£k off twice by some Yorkshire tyke when Harrogate equalised, must of been a Leeds fan.

Mansfield far better than us tonight throughout, as I thought might happen. I had them down as promotion hopefuls and as more players return from injury, my opinion hasn't changed.

Useful point for us which might be very useful come the end of the season. Dreadful from the players through to the manager who got the team completely wrong tonight. Lloyd looked like a boy playing in a mens game and the subs didn't work either. We defended well apart from the goal.

Need to improve massively at the weekend.

Take a point at Harrogate not an easy place to go. Could easily have had all 3 points as well.

We look very solid and we’ve now played all 4 of the teams above us in the league away from home and haven’t lost to any of them. Tough game against Northampton next up but we’re ticking along nicely.

But the main headline was there were 7 draws out of 12 games tonight…

And Exeter weren’t included in any of them!!!

Have to agree on Lloyd. He can be a bench option but for me although he runs a lot it's not in areas I particularly would want a forward to be doing it in. With that said when Rodney came on I thought he was not especially convincing either, can only guess this heel injury has been a lingering one as the burst we saw from him last season just isn't there anymore.

Overall a horrible and somewhat tired looking performance from us tonight. Could tell from early on the way Mansfield pressed we weren't quite on it. With that said if we can beat Colchester on Saturday then a welcome point tonight becomes a very good one.

We looked off it but defended far better than against Sutton, although Mansfield looked very poor up front and for the huge pressure they had didn’t really cause Covolan too many issues.

I guess the positive is we were poor there last season and lost 4-0 this year we were poor but had enough about us to defend mainly well and grind out a result.

Was worried by the selection, Rodney looked off it though when he came on after his ban and injury and didn’t do much, not sure why we didn’t go Wilson and Amoo from the start but felt we set up a bit too negatively considering the oppositions position and form.

Good win away at Sutton. Still unbeaten away.

Just need to improve at home now. Bradford Saturday.

Very deserved three points for Hartlepool. Did all the basics right and then some. Actually got heads to our aimless, directionless balls, won their tackles and put the ball in the net which is something I reckon we should start trying to do. Fantastic support too, best I've heard all season. Safe trip home to the 700 happy Pools fans. Keep going like that and you'll have a good season!

Highlight of the game for me was a crisp packet that blew onto the pitch in the second half. Spent a good ten minutes trying to guess what flavour and brand. It was green with a red line near the top. I'm gonna go for an out there guess and say it was a Hulu Hulu Hoops cheese and onion grab bag. Exciting times.

Can't even be bothereed commenting on us. Just another shite season with another piss poor manager. Nothing will change. Will get battered next week. And I'll still pay £10 to watch it because I'm a fucking idiot.

Easiest three points you'll get all season, mate.

Told the Hartlepool fans they'd at least get a point. Pretty much everyone say it coming. Oh well. Easiest money I've ever made.

That was my feeling. I felt we were set up very defensively and it showed in our performance. A bit of attacking intent might have been better.

One of the most frustrating games we've had in a long time. Scunthorpe have to be praised for sticking to their game and defending resolutely.

We must've had 99% possession but first half everything was too slow - we would've probably been better off if Scunthorpe scored their early penalty as we'd have had some urgency.

We were crap, should've won but for Banks' awful penalty and some good saves. It went exactly as I thought it would.
