learned to spell my first name a long time ago...........keep at it
Good man, I admire your blind loyalty and optimism for Bolton, I wish I could be like that about Wednesday but 40 years of almost absolute mediocrity it wears you down.

We were far from our best last night but did enough to get a draw which is a very useful point.

Fantastic goal by Taylor with Sykes taking it out from the defence and good work from Cam Bran. A great team goal and what we have been doing to many other teams for more of the game than Wigan saw.

From a Bolton perspective if we can win the next two games both winable, then the Oxford away game is key, they currently sit in the last play off place, for me they are in the best three teams i have seen this season the other two being Rotherham and Wigan. if we are still on this run after that game then i see Evatt doing what he seems to do best and that is finishing a season on fire.
Current form we can give anyone a game so lets see what happens.

Finished 3rd in the country
Won the league Cup when it meant summat
Played in Europe

3 stints in the 3rd tier
Threats of being wound up
20 fucking plus years outside the top flight.

Aye a barrel of laughs being a Wednesday fan too.

Shrewsbury away on Saturday and a must win game for both sides. They had a convincing result at our place before Christmas and that day Fleetwood really were dreadful. We've made some descent signings in the last month, shame Josh Harrop picked up an injury in his first game although Butterworth from Blackburn looks a good lad. A draw won't be a disaster, a win would go down rather well and as for a defeat...... whatever, it's going to be a long pm following the game, I may might even allow alcohol to touch my lips

After arguably the worst result in the club's history at the weekend things are beginning to look slightly up again.

Defoe is back which is nice, he'll probably only play a handful of minutes between now and April but it's nice to have him. Johnson is gone, he wasn't a a bad manager like we've had in the past but there was something deeply wrong with how he set up the team - you can't concede 4, 5 or 6 every month and hope to carry on as if nothing happened.

Looking like breaking the 30k barrier against Doncaster, who have won once since we last played them in December... mind you we've only won twice.

Valerian Ismael just left West Brom… he worked wonders at Barnsley. Could be a great appointment….

He has been mentioned although so has essentially everyone else past and present in the world of football league level football.

There's still a long old way to go and our own implosions in the past show anything at the sharp end of the league can happen but I feel whoever does come in will be hard pushed for any automatic promotion. Personally I would like some B team coach from Switzerland or something like all the cool kids are doing.

As long as it isn't Steve Evans I'm fairly zen about the whole thing.

Don’t go for Ismael - his football is dreadful. West Brom fans are so glad he has gone. Although weird to sack him after the window has shut.
You need someone who knows league 1 and is not a big name, just someone can gets the job done.

I don't agree with the 'needs to know league 1'. Manning for us is doing fine. Ipswich's new bloke, McKenna? is doing OK and it's not as if Sunderland need rescuing, thy're 3rd FFS.

I am so glad we don't go for recirculating the old guard. Yes, we have made mistakes in our recruitment but nothing like we could have by employing a Steve Evans or the like.

Barnsley fans loved him didn’t they?

They are the bestest mid table league one team there has ever been though, in fairness.
You will fit right in the league2 forum next season

Roy Keane has been offered the job by all accounts and it’s now up to him. Hopefully this could be the appointment to give us the push we need to go up. He has mentioned in the past he hates the way he left last time and has unfinished business in management. He was fabulous first time round and i genuinely hope he comes back.

I like Keane and think he will do a good job but he's been out of club management for a decade and the game for me has moved on a fair bit and become a lot softer, will his style and aggression work this time?

It's hard to say whether it will work out this time, last time he joined he signed half a dozen players on deadline day who were all important for us in getting promoted. This time he's playing with the squad that has already been chosen for him by a sporting director. Judging by interviews he has had in the 10 years of being a TV pundit, he recognises that you can't just go in and intimidate players any more which is good to hear.

Tbh it would be a strange appointment given what he's done since leaving us and let's be honest at the end of his time here in 2008. It would appear the higher ups at the club may be swayed by the more vocal fans' opinion on things. Beyond that nostalgia I can't see a single reason to even consider him for the job, let alone offer him it.

If he does get the job I hope the nostalgia act works out but at this point in time I can't see it doing so, beyond giving us a brief shot in the arm off the pitch.

He’s been desperate to get back into football hasn’t he… I think it could be a very good appointment. After all the Super Sunday comments on other players and managers it’s time to put his money where his mouth is

Seems very panicky at Sunderland, desperately trying to keep the fans onboard with romantic & nostalgic incomings. Defoe I can understand as he'll still bag a good few off the bench whilst being a great guy but bleeming hell Keane? May have a decent start like most new manager bounces but I'd bet my money it won't last long until he starts touching too many nerves. McCann literally just won the league... last season. Keane is 10 years out of the game, McCann admittedly did what was expected of him but he still had to do it.

Is he? For some reason I remember him as a whining little shit. Not sure in what context but I never really liked him.

I never said he hasn't done any good, I just said I remember him as someone who whines a lot. Most people have done some good in their lives, it doesn't mean all other aspects of their life are up there with the saints.

No you questioned if he was a great guy, I think the Bradley Lowery bit outweighs being "a whining little shit" surely.

I thought Keane was loving his punditry job. God knows why you would want to throw yourself back into the ring and all the stress that goes with it.
