The last US election I stayed up all night for was 2004 - dozens of us packed into our sweaty little common room in halls of residence as we had no internet or TV at all in our rooms (teenagers, ask your parents). God that was fucking grim.

Well, she probably wouldn't, but I am aware that she's not exactly a contender for socialist of the year. She's a presidential candidate so it's a low bar, really. If you don't give the appearance of being a complete loonbag then that qualifies as not "that bad in the grand scheme of things" in my book.

early days but Trump seems to have done reasonably well in Virginia for what should have been a very safe win for Clints.

I'm assuming they count by area though so if you leave polling stations in racially diverse areas till last, Clinton's going to have a late upturn or vice-versa - so it seems pointless to track it until it's done.
