It's Mansfield isn't it, for some it means more than any other game, and people are going to get a bit hysterical if (when) we lose. I'm sure in a couple of days everyone will have calmed down.

Yeah, nothing new sadly.

What i don’t get is how you approach it. I think it’s your own fault

County for some reason seem to think they’re superior to mansfield for some baseless odd reason - it’s consistent and misguided m.

What’s even more enjoyable is that you’re not even close to being our main rivals, yet were consistently better than you and take the piss to boot

I'm not sure you can have it both ways, consistently playing down the importance of the rivalry then being wound up if Notts fans don't take you seriously.

The game is always played for the Matt Salmon trophy. If you don’t know who Matt Salmon is you aren’t County fans and just band waggon jumpers.

Of course I know why the trophy is there and the really nice reasons behind it, I’m just not sure about the owner parading it around the pitch after a league game in February. It’s a nice thing you stick on Twitter on Monday ffs.

That’s the issue though, there isn’t anything about county which winds mansfield fans up, i don’t think you’ve actually got anything as a club to wind us up?

We’re all aware that this game now means more to county fans (esp the younger fans) than it does mansfield, more so with mansfield being better the last decade and the results between the teams.

For some reason county have this odd approach where they think they’re superior to us, which is amusing to say the least and adds to the satisfaction of winning time after time.

Blimey, should have done em Tues. Isn’t it mainly cos they’ve played filth recently? Us, FGR, Doncaster, Grimsby?
You can only play the team in front of you. Will we be in this position at the end of the season? - No. Will we show progression and improvement from last year? Yes.

The quality on show in this league is horrendous
Why is this surprising? We are watching the 4th tier of English football. There simply aren't that many truly outstanding footballers this far down the pyramid for it to be anything more than what it is. Compare it to the 4th tier in any other division and it's leaps and bounds ahead though. We need to accept it for what it is and stop expecting more.

Yeah I know. You’re going very nicely. But the reason you’re top of the form table is because you’ve had a very friendly run of fixtures. It’s not a criticism.

You can't. And the best part is Adam doesn't get our approach it, thinks it’s our own fault, correctly says that they are consistently better than us in these fixtures yet never predicts a Mansfield win. Which is so Mansfield.

There is so much laughably inaccurate and deluded with this that it needs hanging in the onefootballforum museum, along with the images of the last time Notts won at Field Mill. :ffs: As long as you have convinced yourself Adam, that's ok but it's a shopping list buddy.

Although the one bit that does stand out as being true and making sense if the confirmation that Notts aren't Mansfield's main rivals. If anybody hasn't heard it's Chesterfield. The fierce and world renowned M1 J28/29 derby. Although the younger Stags fans haven't witnessed this passionate lower league derby half as many times as the Nottinghamshire one. True story.

Well that simply isn't true now is it buddy. Your self confessed passionate hatred for Notts is simply unparalleled. I've never come even close to witnessing it the other way around, never will.

Far more to witness embarrassment than hatred.

Have you lot finished bickering? Because I bet there are lots of people desperate to hear about Accrington 0 Grimsby 0.

Much better from us today. Defence way better and midfield bang up for it. Shame we couldn't get the win, which I think we marginally deserved. I was mid celebration at the end when I realised that their keeper had tipped Rose's header round the post.

At last, I’ve been longing to hear all about it.

That Mansfield have younger fans :)

It’s one of those defeats that just particularly sting for Notts County fans, even though they expect it everytime they like to keep that slim bit of hope that something special can happen.

From our perspective the six points are obviously greatly appreciated, I just hope you can start turning up against the better sides and maybe take some points off them to help us further? Load that wheelbarrow up.

It was always very likely to be a home victory that's why the bookies had the Mansfield as odds on favourites to win.

Well of course we expect not to win but keep that slim bit of hope that the next time might have a different , better outcome. I'm sure you do the same when it comes to Mansfield any promotion from this level#numb

This season clearly shows that against Top 7 sides we struggle and I don't see that changing with the remaining fixtures against the better sides, sorry Conker. I'm afraid you are going to have to do it yourself and if you can win more home games against lessor opposition I'm sure you will.

Looks to have been a good game at Colchester where former Lincoln City managers Danny and Nicky Cowley got a 3-3 draw in a game ex-Lincoln City striker Tom Hopper got booked and conceded a penalty before ex-Lincoln City striker John Akinde came off the bench to set up current Lincoln City player Ali Smith for their first, which was followed by ex-Lincoln City winger Harry Anderson setting up their second goal before the ex-Lincoln City striker Tom Hopper set up ex-Lincoln City winger Harry Anderson for their third.

It'll probably be on display alongside the Man of the Match trophy he was awarded by Mansfield fans in their NL days (might have been in a game against us).

He didn’t parade it around the pitch, they gave it out and then he cringeworthy went on the mic probably because he was boozed up, unfortunately I did witness this lol.

If making out you lot don’t care about it, or your players are just not up for it helps you then go for it, but your lot were riled up and wanted nothing more than to put a end to the Field Mill Curse.

This is the fanbase that was setting fire to a Mansfield town flag in the Grimsby away concourse after all…….

I still get tweets from your lot insisting our owners are awful and that they hate us so it must have stuck a nerve, considering the fact we haven’t even been in the same division for a few years now!!

It’s a good derby to have though, not any bother, no hostility and it’s not toxic like when we play those across the m1

‘we’re not rattled, you’re rattled’

‘We don’t even care about you, you care about us, tragic really - so tragic actually that I’m going to dedicate hours of my life arguing about how much you care about us whilst we…we do not care at all’

Notts and Mansfield fans are just stuck in this loop forever.

You had 6 attempts on target between you. Tranmere v Crewe had 1. Spoilt you were.

What’s the point of a ’no hostility’ derby?
