Why

Why get rid of a manager who is still odds on for delivering your primary target for the season. The FA trophy is still very much up for grabs.
You joke but Hurst would honestly be happy with our season if we won the Trophy yet failed at promotion. He would love it and tell the fans to get a grip.

It could be just a morale thing, perhaps Grimsby have accepted the fact they have little chance of winning auto promotion, due to Cheltenham's inability to drop points, and we all know the title was their main aim this year.

Or just a case of having a bad day at the office. They'll probably score 3 or 4 in their next game.

The primary target this season should've been winning the league. Aiming for the play offs after this many seasons of continuity and money is pathetic.

So to be SO far off in Feb is totally and utterly unacceptable.

Agree with that Vanni and Paul might be able to pick the players back up but when he's the middle man between the players and the fans it becomes a poisonous relationship when it would otherwise be a very healthy one. We can forgive the players for a bad day but when that bloke starts spouting shit at the fans, we'll respond badly. Those spoilt comments will come back to haunt him for a good while yet.

He should be encouraging the players to keep up the pressure on FGR and Cheltenham. Can't bloody win the league if the managers heart is set on the playoffs. If we do get promoted, he doesn't seem capable of keeping us up.

Finished 4-2. Better than 3-0 but still not the result it should have been on paper.

Tame second half.

We should have equalised in 88th minute with free header from4 yards. Poor finishing story of our season.

Plenty of gamesmanship from Cheltenham as you'd expect from a Gary Johnson side. Comedy moment being their left back deciding to lie down by the corner flag at the end of the game and Jay Harris getting booked for dragging him into touch, who now misses Chester game.

Not begrudging Cheltenhams win but we very much allowed it to happen rather than them controlling it. Chester and FGR now both must win games for us.

If today wasn't bad enough, Kiddys surrender cost me £480. With both goals scored by ex Grimsby strikers.

Everybody is frustrated in the club. Fans and players clashing due in part to stupid comments by Paul Hurst.

Awful ref today. Gave 2 extremely soft penalties. Not even sure what Langmead did.

But we just sat back at 2-0 and threw the game away. Can't see us surviving now that was a must win game.

Listened to the game on the radio and sounded like we were very comfortable and should have scored three or four today. Tranmere not a threat at all.
