Apologies for the late reply and it does come across like that after reading it again, that wasn't my intention. It was meant as an example of just how intense the rivalry is between the Bristol clubs that, at times, we can't even have a quiet evening without the rivalry rearing its head. That goes BOTH ways.
Sorry for such a poor post.
Obviously it goes too far sometimes but I'm glad we've got such a intense rivalry. Despite having friends and family who support City. (God help me) I wouldn't want our rivalry to become tepid and for us all become "fwends". It might be fairly sad but I will continue to take pleasure in any misfortune that befalls the south Bristol peasantry.

Rivalry within the same city must be a strange thing on a day to day basis - you would have thought it would be a bit less intense living cheek by jowl.

The Swindon/Oxford mutual hatred is fuelled by just the right amount of distance - although the elephant in the room is that if the fans of both clubs were born in the other town they'd support the team they hate. I'm all for supporting your most local club, so if I was born in and around Oxford, God help me, I'd be a Kassami.

Whatever you do, don't mention this to Eric!

It won't ever change Aber. I honestly thought the years since we were in the same division would dilute the rivalry but the opposite has happened!
Living on the gas side of town has been 'interesting' lately, let's put it that way.

Fair play to you CU. A bit of rivalry is always healthy for both clubs. History tells us that (most of the time anyway) when one club does well, so does the other. The amount of times we've both been promoted in the same season is staggering

Agreed. Nothing wrong with being inebriated on a Monday afternoon is there?

Tell you what. How about we both lighten up, at least until the games come round.

Have a good evening.

Fair enough, you too.

You'll find I'm a reasonable bloke and I'll always treat people as they treat me.

PS: That doesn't mean we're friends ;-)

It was a joke. Think you're the one who needs to lighten up pal.

12? Well I am even less likely to take any notice.

I am 52 and a thorough technophobe, so an avatar is completely out of the question
