Fair enough, you too.

You'll find I'm a reasonable bloke and I'll always treat people as they treat me.

PS: That doesn't mean we're friends ;-)

It seems I may have misjudged you as well Eric, perhaps you are a decent fella after all!

After talking to a couple of City fans I know, just what is the situation regarding the takeover at the Gas?

They reckon it's all the emperor's new clothes with little substance and likening it to the Notts County/Sven mash up a few years back.

They say the Jordanian fella is going to sell the Mem, make a quick buck and disappear pretty quick. Then there's something about the University and the Council re any new stadium.

Oh, and what's this about their manager and a dog?

Load of old bollocks as is standard from city peasants. Our new owner is richer than the queen, walks on water, runs a sanctuary for homeless ( cute) animals, bleeds blue and is bff with Mezut Ozil.
So there.:bdick:

:lol::lol:

Amazing stuff.

Truth is, we're in a 'good talk, but action needed' stage with the new owners. Concrete news on the stadium in the next 6 months is pivotal for me.

Yep, especially now we're up - his investment will really be needed for us to have a decent season (mid table).

I do love how City fans say that though, as if they spoke to him face to face

Yep, initial approach rejected and we've set some pre-conditions which need to be met, whilst offering Clarke a new deal in the process. We'll see if Leeds come back, and then it's down to Clarke.

If and that's a massive if Clarke goes to Leeds it will be a disaster. Not for Rovers, I'm fairly realistic about him leaving eventually but for Clarke. He would be leaving a place where he is adored, a club that has new investment and momentum for a fucking mess of a club run by a entitled weirdo who will give him the job security of a Syrian gin salesman.

Fairly obvious what will happen if he goes there: sacked by Christmas, end up in League 2 or the Conference again after having his reputation tainted considering he's still relatively unknown above League 2 level.

Career suicide.

Or, if he's 100% convinced of his own ability, go for it and become a legend.

This is the one tiny speck of doubt I have over him staying.

I'm sure he knows Leeds is almost definitely career suicide, not much time, high expectations etc. but that may spur him on. We were hardly in a good place when he took over here, although we gave him time after relegation.

The glory of getting them back is definitely enough of a carrot. He's an ambitious chap, and may well think he can do it. I believe he could if given time. If it fails, it's Cellino's fault and he walks back into a L2 job.

Big risk though when he has it so good here and will end up going to a decent size Championship club with less pressure anyway. We'll see.

Could be a bit like Appleton. He took over Pompey when they were a genuine basket case as well as Blackpool and Blackburn - all 3 clubs in a downward spiral.

Still, look on the bright side. Holloway is available.

Stories in the press now stating that Cellino is talking to someone over in Italy, hopefully Clarke has already told him to do one!

I do agree with the comments re the owner and showing some actions rather than words though. although he has compiled a team of experts to deliver the stadium and has plans for a site for training facilities nothing concrete bar a lick of paint and a new scoreboard at the mem has been delivered. time will tell i suppose.

As for the c*ty fans and their hilarious "clarke w*anks of dogs" insult, that just about sums them up i.e. stupid, sad and desperate.

It's a joke! Lighten up FFS!! 'Stupid, sad and desperate'? Yeah right! Desperate for what? To finish 3rd in the 4th division? Don't think so.
In case you hadn't noticed, this is a light-hearted forum, if you want to try to wind up City supporters , join OTIB.

And here's me trying to wind myself in!

But back to business. So, did DC actually tug a pug?

Be honest BB, all people from Swindon wish they were Bristolian, it's a 'no brainer'.
Are you commenting that Swindoners have no brain or that it's a clear choice that they'd rather be Bristolian?

It's almost as inventive as us being the 'shitheads' and playing our football at 'Trashton Gate'.

To live...maybe...but I'd rather trim my pubic hair with a flame thrower than support either of your clubs!

Ah BB, if you were lucky enough to be a Bristolian, you would, obviously, feel the same way about one of the Bristol clubs as you do about your lot.
As for the 'flame thrower' bit, shout in the wrong place next season and I'm sure someone will accommodate you. ;)

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist saying he expects Leeds and Rovers to come to terms over DC. Excellent.

Surely, if you think he's useless you'd want him to stay with the Gas.

Bit like Corbyn
