Purchased the Men Behaving Badly boxset a while back and just started my way through it. Not sure I've ever seen the first series with Harry Enfield before. Doesn't quite have the same impact at the Neil Morrisey ones but still funny.

There's not a single piece of this statement that doesn't make me smile.

Watched the first 2 episodes of The 4400. It shows promise in an odd sort of way but at least it's a bit different.

The show was cancelled though, so I'm not sure it has a conclusion.

I have just watched the first 4 episodes of Timeless (5/10)
A time travel series, nothing special and a bit unlogical (of course, it's time travel). In the 4th episode the "unavoidable" Nazi Episode when they "jumped" into Germany 1944.
Not bad in parts especially when they brought some "James Bond" jokes after seeing that the british spy hidden as a SS Officer (wrong detail here: They called him Hauptmann (Captain) but that's an Army rank not a SS one) was the "one and only" Ian Fleming, the later creator of James bond.
Funny for me, as always, when the american actors who acted as Nazis spoke German. It was ok so far but very stiff spoken as if they'd only learned what to say and didn't know what they say.

Here's a short promo trailer of this episode with "Ian Fleming" in it:

Who do you think you are is quite good when you're in the mood of it, Mark Gatiss's one when he went to Ireland was very good of the more recent ones shown over the last few years. I'll watch Ian McKellen and Ricky Tomlinson when they come on, but there was no way I was watching that pap Dyer even if he did have a bit of blue blood.

I started The Man in the High Castle yesterday. 3 episodes in and I'm loving it thus far. Seems I've picked a good time to start it as well, as season 2 is apparently due on the 16th of this month!

Actually I watch "Frontier", Discovery Channel's (Canada) first scripted tv series in co-production with Netflix. Starring Jason Momoa and one of my favourite british actors, Alun Armstrong (New Tricks)
The series is already renewed for a second season even before the first episode was broadcasted. Unfortunately the first season has only 6 episodes (the last one next sunday at my birthday)

Roman Empire: Reign Of Blood.
Drama documentary of the start of the fall of Rome. The Romans are my favourite subject in history and was looking forward to this but it's dull beyond description, 2 episodes is enough for me.

Started to watch Start Up on Amazong, got Martin Freeman in it. 2 episodes in and I like it. Guns, sex, violence, sexy women; what's not to love.

In Plain Sight.
Watched the 3rd and final part of this ITV cop drama and loved it. Set in 1957 and based on a true story it was a bit different and Martin Compston who played the sex attacker and murderer Peter Manuel was superb. 9/10.

Good to know. I finished season 1 the other day and I have to say that the last time I enjoyed a new series as much as MitHC was Game of Thrones. It's absolutely brilliant, genuinely already one of my favourite shows running right now.

i'd gladly watch a tv show centred around the obergruppenfuhrer bloke (rufus sewell) but everything else about that first season was so lacklustre.

2nd season a marked improvement i take it?

I liked season 1 but the 2nd is much better and, ironically, because it is a show centred around John Smith now (rufus sewell) so you should definitely give it a watch

Some of it still falls flat - by some I mean every scene involving Frank Frink and/or his weird mate

Oh yeah, John Smith is definitely the best thing about Man in the High Castle. Brilliant character who does steal the show from everybody else really. Glad to know there's more of a focus on him in season 2! :o

That being said, I still enjoy everything else about the show as well.

You know, I thought I was gonna get through this whole xmas period without seeing any of that film... but I managed to catch a bit of it earlier. Xmas is saved!
