I have to be honest, I don't even remember what the Kate episode was about, which probably says a lot. It was about episode 3 or 4, early on into season 6.

I've never watched Lost before, but I remember hearing quite a bit about this particular stonker of an episode. It was about Kate, if I'm not wrong.

As normal, an ending which everyone seems to hate and I think its awesome. Just leaves a couple of ends untied (which are nicely left to the imagination) and I don't know why Michael and Walt weren't really covered.

This guy.

This guy gets it.

The guy who plays the mad, older brother in Peaky Blinders is a crap actor though the rest of the show is very good. Cillian Murphy is excellent.

Nothing wrong with Mass Effect's endings imo, but I'll never watch Lost! :D

I think Paul Anderson is #decent actually, not a fan of whoever plays Polly though, her accent seems all over the place at times (although tbf the brummie accent attempts generally aren't a particular triumph). Murphy's incredible though yeah, I watch his interviews and stuff and still can't work out how it's the same guy playing Tommy.

Yep, a few places where the accent goes a bit wrong in fairness. Love the show though, Murphy plays such an intense role in almost every scene, it's brilliant viewing can't wait for season 3. Thomas Shelby is one tough, scary bastard that's all I know!

I absolutely loved the adventure watching Lost took you on. Watched it four years ago, starting from the period of leave for my GCSE's and it didn't take me long to finish it. It had a lot of flaws but it was great fun and had some great characters (although they ruined John Locke until the final scene). The storyline of the last season was pretty sub-standard (if I remember right) but I actually liked the ending.

I don't believe they could have made it all up as they were going, they were laying the groundwork for the outcome from the very start. Watching it from start to finish over a short amount of time rather than the years it took to make it probably gives you a better perspective.

Personally, I prefer an ambiguous ending to a hand-holding "this is what happened" style. Working out the possibilities is the fun bit.

There may have been some overarching blue print, but they assuredly lost control of their material somewhere around the half way mark, so it doesn't really matter either way (and I say that having rather enjoyed the free-wheeling millefeuille nutiness of it all).

When the time travel stuff kicked in is where I started to feel like it was about to jump the shark, but they just about seemed to keep it on track. Seasons 5 - 6. It seemed mostly solid to me up until then.

I think that they always knew where they were going and what was planned for the main story arc of it... the main thing that people assume was "made up as they went along" is probably to do with the whole flash-sideways stuff in season 6. It's not like they brought out the whole "cork keeping evil at bay" stuff out of nowhere, there was ALWAYS a theme (main through Locke saying so) that the island was this great place that needed to be protected from the wrong people.

But yeah, there would have been changes to the way they got to their destination as they went along. For example, they've always said that Ben Linus was supposed to play a very minor part in season 3... but his performance meant that he just kept getting written more and more stuff until his character was one of the most important things about the show. It evolved from the original vision, but surely more Ben Linus is only a good thing!

What was up with the polar bears?

That ones easy... They were brought to the island by the Dharma Initiative and used as lab rats for experiments. But after the Dharma Initiative stuff ended, they just got out of their cages and started living on the island.

And the Hurley bird was a genetically engineered bird bred to see how it'd survive on the island. It's call just happened to sound like it was saying "Hurley"... it wasn't actually saying his name.

I often get the feeling that people see "loose ends" in places where answers were actually given but just ignored/forgotten.

This isn't to say that EVERYTHING was explained. Just most of it.

Finished Season 3 of The Wire, probably my favourite season so far.

And then I started Season 4. Wow, just wow.

there is a site by the name of couchtuner.eu that you should definitely not use and also it is something I would not use nor ever have...but if I would theoretically, it would hypothetically have been very reliable and an absolute godsend for, I imagine, quite a long time now.

Cheers La, works a treat on my ps4 :)

Just finished S3 of SOA. Brillant, loved the twist with Stahl at the end. Her character was excellent, a proper bitch. Love the series, from what I can gather it starts going a little bit wrong from the inside out from this point on, which I'm not sure how much I will enjoy - however, I'll watch it to the end. I'm quite fortunate that I have, The Shield, The Wire, The Sopranos, Oz and The West Wing to chose my next shows to watch from... I'd imagine there may be a few with some envy that I have those left to see!

Better Call Saul starts tonight too, with that, Suits, The Mentalist and Revenge I already have a full TV schedule.

Just started Breaking Bad, needed to find out what all the fuss was about. 4 episodes into season 1 and yes it's pretty good so far.

Finished American Horror Story on Netflix (up to season 3). Just a load of meh. Watched the first episode of Homeland and that was miles better than any episode of AHS

Watching that Empire. Not sure so far - the premise and cast mean it should be a lot better than it is I think.

UK My man.

Todd has just asked Dave to come back - not completed this ep though.

Ah fair enough, I'm about 10+ episodes ahead of you so I won't spoil it. Quality series though.

It's taken this long Craig? Season 1 is like a pimple on the BB ass compared to the stuff you have to come!

The first season is at times darkly comic, but the more intense stuff happens in the other series when it starts to get very dark indeed. You'll enjoy the journey though, and you won't have seen anything quite like it before.

I enjoyed the first series of Breaking Bad and watched a few episodes of series 2. I now haven't watched it for a few months, and I don't really feel any compulsion to carry on; it just didn't hook me like that and I don't know why.

I initially gave up on Breaking Bad midway through season two as well. But because of the hype and following constant nagging from a few friends, I re-visited it a few months later and was rewarded with the excellent seasons 3-5. Definitely give it another go Veggie.
