I initially gave up on Breaking Bad midway through season two as well. But because of the hype and following constant nagging from a few friends, I re-visited it a few months later and was rewarded with the excellent seasons 3-5. Definitely give it another go Veggie.

This.

I enjoyed the first series of Breaking Bad and watched a few episodes of series 2. I now haven't watched it for a few months, and I don't really feel any compulsion to carry on; it just didn't hook me like that and I don't know why.

I got to towards the end if the 4th series or the start of series 5 I think and then I gave up. It took us a long time to get that far as I wasn't really that interested. I can see why people like it but I just found it annoying on the whole. Series 2-3 stood out.

My partner finished it but said it was underwhelming. I think it's one of those shows that was ruined by the hype.

The hype didn't ruin it, the show just got progressively better and too many people were late to the party. I watched fairly early compared to most people even though it was the end of season 2 when I started it but when it got to season 4/5 and it was consistently brilliant it was hard to rave about it and then have people start with season 1 which was a little less impressive.

I think it's more of an acquired taste than people think. It's more likely you just didn't like it rather it being over-rated or over-hyped.

Just watched the first two episodes of Ray Donovan. So far, so good. Will probably have the first series finished by the weekend.

Season 2 is a bit slowish after a blistering start but the ending of it is important for the psyche of the characters going forward in the other series. Seasons 3,4 and 5 are masterpieces though.

4 episodes of Dexter left, I'm going to miss him.

Towards the end of season 4 of Sons of Anarchy.

Wire update:

Finished Season 4 yesterday, which was excellent. Terribly sad, but so, so good. Really loved the shift in focus to the school and the four young actors playing the kids were brilliant, particularly Dukie who you just have to symptathise with.

Season 5 is weird. I like the focus on the newspaper (being a journalism graduate I should) but McNulty's story this season is bizarre and completely unrealistic.

Yeah 5 is the weakest season unfortunately.

First time I saw season 4 I didn't like it and found the kids annoying, but I understood it better on the second run throug. The ending for the kids stories as well is well done and powerful, and Bubbles story is heartbreaking - he's my favourite character in The Wire.

....and then they DIE.

Stop it.

Just seen episode 7 and 8. I'm enjoying this season more than any other and I actually prefer having no Rigsby/Van pelt (man Vega is hot) in the show to be honest. The entire FBI and feel to every episode makes it feel 'neater'. This 'sign off season' didn't really need a final arch, it's basically about giving all the fans who invested in the characters the chance to dig deeper into Lisbon and Jane and play off them on screen, thoroughly enjoying it so far - other than the Red John episodes and S6 in general, this is my favourite series. The TV forum I use seems to be bumming off it too, shame it's going to be the end.

They won't kill anyone off though, I believe they are looking to other networks to try and continue things or make a comeback for feature seasons down the line. Be stupid to waste Simon Baker. The reaction on his face when Lisbon gave him the CBI mug was too much!

Watched season 1 of Derek last night, and yes it is faux sentimental mush at times, but it's heart is in the right place and its truthful, and there are some genuinely laugh-out-loud moments. Will watch the second season either tonight or the weekend.

Prepare yourself for a remarkable drop of quality in the absence of Pilkington.

Look, I'm going to add some warning points to your profile soon.

Meh, Rich McLean and TFF tried that on me and guess what?! They're now both dead. (Rich's username is anyway, he's on here isn't he?)

Watching 24: Live Another Day.

Gripping as it always has been.

Yeah I enjoyed this series. I actually preferred having 12 episodes and the change of scenery was welcome.

12 episodes really helped it, hopefully they will make another too

Finished season 2 of Derek, and I did miss Karl not being in it (I'd watch that guy cut his toe nails he's that brilliant), but the quality was still there in abundance though I had to fast-forward through the bit where he has to put the dug down, too many bad memories there! And there was some genuine unexpectedly warm moments from Kev and seeing his ludicrous family where he was actually the achiever, was funny. :D

Homeland. About 6 episodes into the first season and its superb. It's the kind of show 24 wants to be on the ctu side of things, really great and engaging tv.

Also watching walking dead & better call Saul as they appear

Up to episode 7 in season 3 of Breaking Bad.

It is really fookin enjoyable to be fair. The finale to 'One Minute' was pretty intense. Big shout out for DJ Qualls' cameo, nice.
