If it was any other time, I would have been happy. This time, I'm not.

Could have won with that Guerrero free kick at the end. Well done to Romero.

You should be happy. Qualification is in your own hands. Beat Columbia and you’re there. Even a draw might see you still squeeze 5th and a play off.

Told you Colombia wouldn't qualify. The biggest underachievers in football underachieving again. Pekerman out. Colombia will finish bottom next time. Well done Peru

I'm pissed because Paraguay won. The draw was a great result given we were missing 3 key players, but now these next 5 days will be hell.

It's very 'England' to qualify with a turgid win.

Still - well done Joe Hart, the first time I've said that in a fair while. Superb double save just before we scored.

Lets be honest - for all their talent and even getting to the final in Brazil Argentina didn't exactly produce their top form then.

Maybe as a team they just don't gel - too many individuals not playing as a collective?

I'd take us being a bit shit and getting to a final mind

Don't remember me of the World Cup 1978. The Austrians are still wanking about it ;).

btw: Scotland favourite of winning the World Cup? ...In a "Bizarro-Universe" maybe ;) (yeah I know they had class players at that time but hey, world cup winning and Scotland? Anyway, I better stop otherwise I'll summon.....

...yeah and this better team was "battered" later by Argentina 6-0 , very dubious because it was just the result Argentina needed to advance to the finals instead of Brazil. So better not open this pandora's box WC1978 ;)

Scotland had a fantastic team in 1978 and could have down well in the tournament. But they certainly weren't favourites. Anyway, a great result last night against a good Slovakia team. Sets up a huge game on Sunday.

Delighted England won as well.

Hope Argentina can still qualify for the World Cup. Astonished given their attacking talent they start players from River Plate and Atalanta in forward positions. They'll be a big miss if they don't qualify.

I actually think Slovenia will beat Scotland and Slovakia will beat Malta and take 2nd.

I don't think so Liam as I reckon Slovenia are down and out. They know all too well there's no way Slovakia will lose to Malta on their own patch, so they won't be exactly up for it against the Scots. Their heads will drop as soon as Slovakia get their first.

Scotland favs to make the play offs now.

But this is Scotland, they'll probably bugger it up. Plus, Scotland's away record in this kind of game against a side who is not a pushover is abysmal.

We said the same thing a month ago and look what happened.
Bulgaria have a 100% record at home in those qualifiers so not that confident. Hopefully, they don't park the bus. If they do, we won't score. Simple as.

If it's not Bale it's Robson-Kanu, if it's not Robson-Kanu it's Woodburn, if it's not Woodburn it's Lawrence. We have match winners the whole way down.

Just checking in quickly to give my take: great result for Wales, Ireland game should be good, well done Scotland but you won't win in Slovenia, England's national identity crisis as a result of our blood-soaked empire and complete lack of our own cultural character has dripped all the way down to our football team and this will never be fixed.

Thanks.

Reckon Serbia will beat Georgia tbh.

Iceland 2 clear and playing the bottom side at home - once again defying the odds.

Massive win tonight. Especially as it silences those who hark on about Wales being a one man team. Ireland is going to be massive especially if Georgia can play well in Belgrade. All to play for

Who harks on about Wales being a one man team? They get rightfully praised all the time for their ability to work as a team.

But beating Georgia doesn't prove anything, they're a squad full of nobodies who haven't won a single game in the group. The Ireland game is the real test.

Really enjoying these qualifiers, drama in every continent. South America is ridiculous, anything can still happen in Africa... and USA about to kick off in a crucial game against Panama.

Interesting night in Europe again tonight, wouldn't be shocked to see Serbia being held to a frustrating draw against a reasonable Georgia side, but at the same time wouldn't rule out the Republic winning in Cardiff.
Iceland, you gotta love em, incredible result in Turkey, they'll surely do the job at home to Kosovo, big pressure on Croatia in Ukraine on Monday too.

Only Wales and Coleman make Wales out to be a one man man team. It's a decent side, and the inferiority complex should have stopped a long time ago.

USA 3-0 Panama at half time. I've changed my mind, I want to see the USA in the world cup. They're awful but they have a couple of interesting players at their disposal. Bobby Wood being my favourite.

I just hope they change their manager. Bruce Arena is such a bland and uninspiring coach.
