It's nice to see some northern sides coming down for next season.

Didn't realise how far adrift Dagenham and York are, bloody hell, big game for both sides, however loses that is going to be in some serious bother.

Many York fans going down?

A must win game for Daggers, and I think they can do it and get all 3 points tomorrow, but I wouldn't say it's the same as far as York are concerned. Sure, they would want to win too, or at least get a draw, but it's a far more important game to the Daggers.

There are some sides like Pools and Morecambe who are really struggling, but I think we'll see a repeat of last year. It's looking likely these sides won't even need to get to 40 points or whatever as they'll still stay up.

Win or bust this weekend for us. I think we're almost down anyway but a handle would be nice as you never know

If Daggers get out of it now it would be astonishing, and if we don't beat them tomorrow we'll be joining them.

Pair of you looking lamentably adrift now, bud.

Great win for us but we're definitely not out of it yet. Daggers hitting a bit of form, got a winnable home game on Tuesday and then they have us at the Vic on Saturday. That's a huge game for both sides. It's not inconceivable that we'll get beat off them at home. If that happens then the tables are turned. York have Barnet at home next.

Still all to play for. But please god let it be Stevenage and Dagenham. Don't mind the latter but at the expense of York? Nah.

Agreed. With Yeovil improving recently and Hartlepool have games in hand it seems we'll lose Dagenham and York at the end of the season.

Big result for Dagenham today. They'll win on Tuesday because they ALWAYS beat us at their place, so 6 points from 2 home games will give them a massive boost.

Aye, that's us done. We've been back in the league 4 years and we've been rubbish for 3 and a half them.

Didn't bother with the game today, went to Pickering to watch them vs Tad Albion but it was called off. Not a good day all round.

I'd say that's the bottom two sealed, but if we can win on Tuesday then it really is back on. The monkey's off our back, but everyone else needs to stop winning if we're to stand any chance.

It's the hope that kills you..

Meh.

It's over. In a way, I'm glad, I'd rather we just laid down and died so I can find something significantly more worthwhile to do with my time for the rest of the season. I simply won't watch York City play conference football again, I started supporting them the year we went down last time, eight years in that languid pit of pure misery flirting with oblivion was enough thanks, nearly every moment back up here has been equally dire. We're a disgrace, from top to bottom, it's goodbye for good now, we're never coming back.

Least, not as York City FC we aren't. Maybe one day AFC York will grace the league.

wow. What a change from the Club that beat us in the Play Off Final and got the better of us in just about every game prior to that. Come on. ffs

We're still very much gone. Even two wins now would see us back in touch but with a tough run beginning. I'm just going to try and relish the remainder of our time here and if we somehow pull something miraculous off, then great

You mean the club that had to heavily invest with our chairman's money to escape almost certain eventual oblivion in non-league, a chairman who has made numerous noises about reducing said investment? The club that desperately needed it's new stadium to stop leaking hundreds of thousands of pounds on temporary repairs to Bootham Crescent but has a council who actively works against it ever happening to the point it might fall through leaving us in SERIOUS financial trouble? The club that has repeatedly recruited poorly both on and off the pitch whilst, until very recently, souring it's relationship with the fans?

Look, I'm sure from the outside looking in it seems like an over reaction, but the fact is you don't know anything about the implications of relegation for York City, it quite literally is probably going to kill us. I'm all for people taking the piss cos we're a crap team, because we absolutely are and deserve to go down, but I think people really don't understand with the stadium fiasco, increasing frustration from the only person keeping us afloat financially and the subsequent severing of income streams relegation to the conference entails we are on our way to STRONGLY being another Scarborough, Hereford, Darlington etc. It's not just some wah, wah, wah rant cos I'm a big baby throwing my toys out of the pram because relegation was confirmed, I genuinely am heart broken that my club is going to die. I can take relegation if all it meant was going down a division, but it means far more than that.

I don't particularly know if I have the heart to watch my club slowly die until we have somebody else decide to take it off life support. Promotion was almost like a temporary fix to a permanent problem stretching back to Craig and Batchelor, not one to arrest a terminal decline, it's something I watched before and right now, I'm really not sure I have it in me to watch it again. Call me a shit fan if you want, but it is what it is.

Don't assume our 3 games in hand are points in the bag , all away and all difficult , it wouldn't surprise me if they only yielded a point or two

But that win has given me a morsel of hope. I know we're still in an impossible situation almost, but this is the first sort of hope of any kind we've had in a very long time and I'm going to grasp onto it. Quite simply, however, we have to follow it up with two more wins in the next week to stand any chance. I also think we'll end up relegated, but it's just nice to have something for a change.

The idea of going back down to the conference makes me shudder at the thought and break out in a cold sweat, I wouldn't be mortified if we went down, playing clubs you've never heard of infront of 7 fans.

You've still got a chance of survival though mate

Feel for York and hope they don't go the way of other northern clubs in recent years. This is the thing, we'd be well up shit creek if we went down too. Believe me, it is not all over yet at all. In fact the table could look very different next weekend if you beat Barnet (very possible)
and if we lose to Dagenham at home (possible enough). So that's what I'm saying, a win or two for you and the Daggers plus another defeat for the Steves and it could all look different. Might seem far fetched but it's not. How far adrift were we last season and what happened? We've got some very hard games left so no chance it's decided yet.

Very well written, I would not like to see you gone, D & R for that matter.

:bg: Ah yes, the Wimbledon fan still bitter about us ruining his big day.

I see the HG who illuminated this forum with his cheerful world-view is back.
It's the only game we have left that I'm absolutely certain we'll lose. I'll be putting £100 on it.

It's probably the only game I'm reasonably confident of winning..

This weekend two seasons ago, we were 6 points adrift with no chance of staying up...
And before kick off on the last day we were favourites to go down after losing at home to Bristol Rovers the week before, we won and they lost so we stayed up on goal difference of 3 goals :bravo:Anything can happen in football and that's why we love it!

That's why I'm certain we'll lose, because it's the one on paper that we should win.

Unfortunately, we're goners, barring a miracle.

Unfortunately, we're gone. We just cannot string together results and the fans have turned on the entire club. Nobody wants to keep getting behind these wasters, I don't blame them. We don't have the talent required to get us out of this mess, Fewster is a great striker but all alone up there, Berrett is a great midfielder but not getting games, Coulson is absolute class but was gone too much of the season, Winfield is a leader and should have been our captain all along and Flinders is solid, but doomed behind a defence which is never settled, low on actual talent and which exposes gap after gap thanks to a non-existent midfield full of bottlejobs and half-arsers.

When we came up, I thought we could go back to mediocrity, but secure in our future, staring through that trapdoor is a reality I know will kill the club I love and, as much as the crappy away support, awful refs and other stuff terrifies me, it's that which kills me.

I feel the same about the Dagenham game this Tuesday.
But we always lose at Dagenham, so I'm thinking this is the night our dismal record there ends. Plus we haven't lost back to back league games this season.
