Don't worry lads, we embraced the Conference, twas a kick up the arse we needed on and off the pitch.

If Chelts and FGR are the current front runners it must be even worse than last season.

It's the only game we have left that I'm absolutely certain we'll lose. I'll be putting £100 on it.
I've lost too much betting on Hartlepool , trust me , they will do the opposite of what you expect

:bg: Ah yes, the Wimbledon fan still bitter about us ruining his big day.

No my therapist says I'm doing well, and If I keep taking the drugs in 5-10 years I might have forgotten all about it. :2thumb:
Also I am now planning for next year, I gotta hope it is not you or Steveage we are against. :bye:

You mean the club that had to heavily invest with our chairman's money to escape almost certain eventual oblivion in non-league, a chairman who has made numerous noises about reducing said investment? The club that desperately needed it's new stadium to stop leaking hundreds of thousands of pounds on temporary repairs to Bootham Crescent but has a council who actively works against it ever happening to the point it might fall through leaving us in SERIOUS financial trouble? The club that has repeatedly recruited poorly both on and off the pitch whilst, until very recently, souring it's relationship with the fans?

Look, I'm sure from the outside looking in it seems like an over reaction, but the fact is you don't know anything about the implications of relegation for York City, it quite literally is probably going to kill us. I'm all for people taking the piss cos we're a crap team, because we absolutely are and deserve to go down, but I think people really don't understand with the stadium fiasco, increasing frustration from the only person keeping us afloat financially and the subsequent severing of income streams relegation to the conference entails we are on our way to STRONGLY being another Scarborough, Hereford, Darlington etc. It's not just some wah, wah, wah rant cos I'm a big baby throwing my toys out of the pram because relegation was confirmed, I genuinely am heart broken that my club is going to die. I can take relegation if all it meant was going down a division, but it means far more than that.

I don't particularly know if I have the heart to watch my club slowly die until we have somebody else decide to take it off life support. Promotion was almost like a temporary fix to a permanent problem stretching back to Craig and Batchelor, not one to arrest a terminal decline, it's something I watched before and right now, I'm really not sure I have it in me to watch it again. Call me a shit fan if you want, but it is what it is.
He's not still putting in investment on the level of your final Conference season, though, surely?

Are you still involved in the Trust?

Unfortunately I had to step down, though in all honesty the club threw up enough roadblocks to prevent the Trust being as helpful as it could be.

He isn't currently, no, but he's made several noises about being unable to invest (reality is he isn't going to invest over the value of the ground, which he hopes to recoup his losses with when it's sold), he gotten increasingly frustrated and I can't see him hanging around long down in the Vanarama, he may have a one season crack at it, but that'll be it.

If the stadium falls through, he's likely going to be gone much sooner.

If Dagenham can win again tomorrow, it will put the sides above them under the cosh for a bit longer - All it takes is a 3-4 games unbeaten run and the points gap will slowly go down if teams aren't careful............

2-0 down to Hartlepool after 15 minutes. We're gone.

You're gone Daggers, I can't see you lot doing 'a Hartlepool', though having said that nobody foresaw Pools doing it last year either. Pity as you Daggers were a decent bunch on this forum. Still at least I guess it's better to accept beforehand your side's going down than getting relegated on the last day.

Think York are gone too. They played well against us yet failed to win , which will demoralise them further.

Yeovil look to be safe now, that's a bloody good run they're on :bravo: Daggers are doomed and York look like they'll join them i'm afraid.

I had them to go down - together with Crawley but sadly they are safe now - so I'm not surprised. Always said their squad looked lightweight, and what's worse is they rely a lot on their home matches which isn't a very good idea imo. When you're down there you need to pick up away wins too, as everyone knows.

Still, a couple of wins for York and Stevenage will be in deep trouble - they have failed to score in their last 4 games now. And Notts C should be grateful they're already on 40 pts as they're also on a poor run of games.

The abyss of non league awaits Dagenham and York, that feeling must be awful.

You'll never see Dagenham again, whether York fans can stomach another trip down there remains to be seen, massive respect to their fans if so - how they've got themselves into this position again is a surprise

Think we're more than likely safe now, but not getting too carried away yet. Hignett's got us in the right direction and we've known all along that this squad isn't bottom two material, just needed someone who vaguely studies the game, manages and coaches the players properly to get us going. Never in doubt the right decision to replace Moore with him.

Wish Stevenage had a few points less to give York a chance.

We're in really bad shape at the moment, beginning to look like our only chance of survival is for York and Dagenham to continue faltering. Our fixtures improve after the Northampton and Oxford games but our confidence will be very low - current run is four straight losses without scoring. Worrying times.

If it wasn't for your keeper today you would have been hammered but he had a blinder from all accounts. You should be okay but only because Dagenham and York keep dropping points as well.

No win in 6 for Notts. Don't rule out a late show up at the party

Only question left in this race for me is can York or Dagenham rally enough to catch Stevenage. York looked a decent side yesterday by all accounts and Daggers have picked up a bit so it's possible.

Looks like it's going to be a low total this year.

Even if the bottom two manage, by some minor miracle, to win half of their remaining 10 games, that's still only 40-42 points.

What frustrates me even more is that in any normal year, Stevenage would be right in this scrap. It's only down to us and York for being absolutely woeful that they're somehow 9 clear.

We're lucky that both yourselves and York have been poorer than we have so far, as you say we'd usually be in a far worse position. The only thing that might play against us, for so long we've had a buffer over the bottom two (both position and points wise) whilst the threat for those closer to the drop could act/has acted as a spark to turn things round (Newport, Hartlepool and Yeovil have all picked up), we continue to plod along thinking we're safe, with yourselves and York slowly chipping away at the gap, we could find ourselves in imminent danger being low on confidence and unprepared for the battle.

If we can pick up a 3 wins and a couple of draws I think we'll be ok but getting those points will be easier said than done!

We're down, make no mistake about that. It's merely a question of when, not if. Feel free to quote me on this if I am wrong (I wish I will be).

We don't deserve to stay up in all honesty, Stevenage, Hartlepool etc don't worry, we are not catching you.

Cannot believe York are coming back after only four seasons. They know exactly what's coming as well, which must make it even more difficult.

Hats off to the fans sticking by them, they must have an incredibly strong gut.

Seeing Daggers and York doing so badly just makes our relegation on over 50 points all the more annoying.

I can believe it CrazyImp, if ever there was a team who was going to complete the going up and coming back down in recent years achievement, it would be us. We've flirted with it 3 out of 4 seasons so it was inevitable.

This thread is probably all but done then. There are some really terrible teams in this league but York and Dagenham are just a level below, shame to lose them as both good away trips

Looking at Dagenham's fixtures there is no way they'll pick up nearly enough points to get out of it. Same goes for York, they've got a lot of sides chasing the play offs or top 3 still to play. Shame as I like both, The Daggers fans on here are a good bunch and despite only winning once at your place it's always a decent away day. York, another weekender we've lost like Torquay. Relying on Blackpool to get relegated now!

It's like last year where Rovers and to a lesser extent Cheltenham were so dire, that once Pools had re-discovered their mojo with Ronnie's help, nobody else was in danger of going down.
